Hi everyone. This is my craft room and I wanted to share what I've accomplished so far. Still some work to do, but close enough to finished for a reveal. I reorganized and decorated my room for under $100.00 by using things I had around the house and could find cheap at yard sales, thrift stores or stores like Family Dollar. I loved the challenge and think it's really important that you feel good in your space no matter if it's a room, the corner of a room or even a closet. I've crafted in all three situations. Well, I hope you like my video and it gives you some ideas and inspiration to make a space that fits YOU :)

Thank you for posting this video! I love what you did! I remember when I was younger and my mom would fix up places where we lived with paint and fabric. She would take wooden crates and make curtains across the fronts, also in bathrooms that had no linen cupboards and around the sinks, both in the bathroom and kitchen. The curtains hid the stuff and things just looked so neat. Your video made me feel so peaceful and brought back such warm memories! She was quite the lady and so resourceful. My room is such a disaster! I want to get some paint and make some curtains. I need to check out your pictures now because when I watched the video I saw so many things that I want to study closer and incorporate into my fixer upper efforts. I love your colors to. Enjoyed watching your video. Your room turned out Beautiful!!! As an Interior Designer/artist/paper crafter, I know the pains of trying to get all stuff organized. Kudos to a job well done!!! (And on the cheap, as well-good for you). It doesn't take alot of money to create something so lovely, just alot of elbow grease and an inspiring mind! Thank you Jennifer Cruz Yes, there are a lot of pink rooms out there. I like pink, but don't think I could live in a lot of it for very long. The grayed-green walls with the punch of different shades of blue throughout the room gave me a space to relax without putting me to sleep. I really love it.

I am in the process of re-doing my craft room..My hsb finished out the closets for me, so I can make the shelves any size I want, and that it was a pain but it turned out beautifully...I love the green on your walls. I did a lighter green but will finish the walls with a deeper color (thanks for the idea)my room is the middle of a mess...lol Love the rest of your the room...I will be redoing (painting) everything. I have a Painting (down in the basement) that would be a perfect shabby/french provincial style that will be perfect...My craft room is shared by our guest bed...(not many guests come so that may go-most family lives here) anyway, I have the fabric to cover underneath my desk and I just wanted to thank you for giving me some great ideas..I collect quilts and antiques so some of those are getting a make over too (not the quilts) sorry I am blabbing, I am just excited..since it is 1 am I guess I will start earlier today...thanks, Angela

Beautiful transformation. Love the colors you used & the painting you took your inspiration from. I love the fact that your room isn't high tech like many of the craftrooms I have seen in videos. wow so much brighter. So fed up with seeing craft rooms here on TH-cam which don't look crafted in at all. More like a show room with everything in matching boxes, sizes, all in a row. Some people must have too much money. This is what the normal person has- if they are even lucky enough to have a spare room anyway. Thanks for sharing your make over. oh that is so cute and so relaxing . You took a dark depressing cluttered room and made it into a show piece statement. You did a great great job and you should love to go in there and be creative all of the time. I bet that you get lots more things done now.
I have watched your video several times. It is so inspiring. When I first watched it, I was changing my room over to accommodate my craft shop. I've had to give my shop up. I've come to realize, though, that sewing and crafting are so much a part of me that I will still create.
What are the dimensions of your room?

I wish there was a love button to click!!! Your craft room is wonderful! My fave color is blue (all shades) and I find it difficult finding blue for ladies craft rooms, spaces, storage and decorations. I am so glad I came across this and now I have same ideas to boot! Thanks for sharing!

Angela that is absolutely the most beautiful room I have seen! I have been doing an extensive search for the past week on reorganizing my craft room. Oh, you can redo anything to the way you would dream but who has or wants to waste money on the storage (I have none left, since I did have a tiny budget & had to but new shelves & bins... it's already gone!) I have started but don't like it at all! There is nothing that wows me in it (my room that is)! So, with your inspiration and realizing I can do some panting & accessorizing the right way I can make this the room of my dreams after all! So THANK YOU!
I love what you did to your room
Angela; I too have chosen this old french provincial style to do my craft room. I have an old large water bed head board also I will incorporate on to my desk. My waiting shelf units numbering 4 so far are tall, used and brown. Yuk! What kind of paint did you use to cover. Some is real wood & some is veneers. Also, how are your little curtains attached? Any suggestions and inspirations will be greatly appreciated. I'm doing it all on my own. No other helpers. Love the transformation. Well done.
+Lynda Thomas Hello and thank you. I did my room on my own too so I'm excited for you for the day you finish. It's a great feeling of accomplishment. As for paint I used craft paint sponged on for the back of the shelves. Primer for the glass door cabinet because it had a nice chalky finish. Satin finish white acrylic interior paint I had for my big desk and filing cabinets. It's been over a year and a half and none of the paint has come off and the primer still looks great.
As for hanging the curtains I used tiny cafe rods that I had used at one point to hold my punches. They're inexpensive and can be attached anywhere. For the large desk I used a wooden dowel that rests in plastic closet bar cups that are just attached using two-sided adhesive foam squares (Command brand). They haven't fallen off yet. I have a very detailed post with photos explaining what I did and my thinking during the process that might help you. Paint is my new best friend. It's cheap compared to other costs to improve and makes the biggest impact. I'm so excited for you because it will be such a wonderful feeling when you're done and stand back to look at everything. I'm glad that my video is an inspiration and motivating factor for you. I am on the third clean out in 3 months. So help me if I don't get it right this time I am going to scream. First time I made the mistake of putting everything I owned back weather I use it or not. What I got was a very cluttered mess. Second time it was better, but the color just didn't inspire me. Third time is the charm. I took over a closet in another room for my run over supplies and I only put the stuff I use all the time into the room. I painted anything that could possibly be painted too. Much better vibe.

Out of all the craft rooms that I watch on You tube, yours is the best transformation! My desk looks just like your before photo.... Sad but so true. We are getting ready to move from 571 sq ft apt in Maine to double the space in No. Carolina. I will actually have a craft room!! I am so excited! WOW - love the video, Appreciate you not talking on it, not that I ever heard your voice but most people are not good speakers on videos and say umm and other things. I really liked the striped back of you bookcases - a novel idea! It's amazing how much better things look in a light area isn't it? Luckily I am starting with white bookcases. Are there TH-cam awards? You deserve best in show! Music matched video perfectly. I have watched many vids that had horrid background music and didn't finish them. Please come to my house for a serious redo of my sewing room. I think throwing a match into it is a little drastic. Congrats!!!

Angela, I love what you did to your craft room. It is not only beautiful, but so feminine. My craft room is a mess. I enjoy creating so many things. My goal this year is to try to get my room organized to the point where I can find everything. Right now a lot of my things are in boxes and it does not help when I am creating projects to have to look through those tote boxes. Thank you for sharing your room.

I like your room because it isn't all Ikea purchased stuff like most everyone else's. I want my room to be from reused and reloved furniture.....not particle board stuff.
That was amazing! You are so creative and the room came out fabulous. You may consider adding a farmhouse style table in the middle for a place to work. Maybe a white one to match the motif.
