I don't use it anymore, I completely lost faith in this car and in Nissan, the service they offer was painful "my car was stopped 3 months before they decided to repair it. fucking shit experience with the nissan gtr r 35.

Regarding the turbo lag, you're in sixth gear... It's obviously going to take the maximum amount of time for the turbos to even begin to spool. Also, you shouldn't be lugging the engine by flooring it in such a high gear at low speeds. It puts a lot of unnecessary stress on the engine itself. Take the advice and please never do it again.

WRX/STi owners always preach about how bad it is accelerating too hard in higher gears when you’re not in the power band

This is by far one of my favorite super cars in da world. This 2020 Nissan GTR NISMO HERE IS AMAZING . Me I would have it in my favorite color purple n black if I could. Still this red color is cool. When did that price jump happen? Once upon a time, the miracle that was the GTR was the fact that for $100,000 you could by a sports car that could rival the exotics in performance for half the money. Now it's 'exotically' priced.
It is curious - I am an owner of a brand new GT-R MY 2020 Prestige Edition (German version) and whenever I drive in automatic mode and all the 3 switches are set in normal position it makes no difference in acceleration - the Double Clutch reacts so fast and changes the gears, you do not feel any turbo lag ... either the US-version is curbed or you are not pushing the gas pedal enough ...

You talk about being outdated but steering wheel column mounted paddle shifters are just that. Much more ergonomic keeping both hands in the same position when turning. Smh.

I had a 2013 Black edition R35 during 2012, loved the engine response however the body is so light, panels are weak and one major issue was the quality of materials used on the interior! plastics everywhere as if I'm in a camry.. that needs to be looked into if in case Nissan is coming with a new R36 hopefully! oh n their Recaro seats are lovely!

He doesn't know anything about GTR's and turbo's. How do you expect to be at a certain mile per hour and in 6th gear and want full boost and no lag? You will damage the transmission.I own a GTR

We also accelerated in manual mode to show an improvement, but note that there was still plenty of turbo lag compared to other cars we have driven. If you drive a modern BMW, Mercedes, or McLaren (or insert other car names) with turbos, the transmissions are quicker to downshift and the engines have less lag. That is the point we wanted to make in the video.
Good review, but my only thing is how can you try to accelerate in 6th gear like that under the powerband? Should have dropped 1-2 gears. All I’ve heard is that lugging turbo motors like that and going into boost at higher gears below 3K RPM is what kills engines. I’m an STi owner, and all Subaru guys talk about how that’s a big no-no

Launch control is not recommended by Nissan and is detrimental to the transmission. Nice review BTW!. I take a Nismo and other super cars on track day north of Montreal every summer over 2 weekends min. Last summer I drove the Lamborghini Huracan Performante and the Nismo the same afternoon with about a 15 min break between the two drives and I have to say that although I was impressed with the speed and handling of the Lambo, I preferred the GTR because of the better seating position and I just felt more confident driving it around the track at it's limits.
They also need to get this car to at least 700 torque horsepower can stay there. Porsche work some magic with their PDK and their almost non existent lag but there is something special about the GTR sort of like how Subaru STIs are slower than most cars nowadays but are just special to have fun in.
I like the car but what would definitely keep me away is no V8+ engine and the non premium interior. Those things kill this car for me, specially because is not a cheap car. Yet it has a cheap interior for its price. I really like the look of the car (although is already old looking being out there so many years) and I'm not hating, but this car definitely wouldn't be on my list. But I respect whoever has it or will buy the car, congratulations to you.
