In 1979 my parents sold our home to a British couple. Back then, owners met the new buyers. The buyers were British. I was 9yrs old. The British buyers had a 10yr old son who had a little crush on me. He gave me this album as a gift for letting him live in my home lol. Best day EVER!!! I was glued in between my parents large floor speakers for the better part of the year. If you’re reading this Kevin, you literally changed my life that day. Many thanks ❤

I was a couple of years out of the Army and going to school in Long Beach CA. I was sitting in the quad one afternoon minding my own business and a girl sat down next to me. We talked for a few minutes and then she said she had an extra ticket to go see The Wall. I ended up in a van full of dope-smoking crazies and it was probably the best "Welcome Home" I had ever gotten at that point. Whatever your name was, and wherever you are now, thanks for that night and THEN some!
I saw PINK FLOYD perform 'The Wall' concert in Los Angeles, California in February 1980 at the LA Sports Arena. It was an absolutely incredible concert! I will NEVER forget it!

Richard ter Veen that's the thing about David Gilmoure. His solos are based on substance. And most of them, despite their relative ease, are nothing short of genius. I would take a Gilmoure solo over anybody shredding the same three or four notes over and over as fast as they can...

That was my Dads birthday...he turned 31 years old...less than a month later he pàst away....i was 8 years old,it's hard to remember much about him,but one thing I learned from him, that is ingrained in me is the love of great music...and my dad loved pink floyd
I worked on a Floyd show in Milwaukee. It was late 80's, early 90's . Post Waters, stage had two levels, lower level could not be seen by the audience, had back up musos and vocalists. I stood right next to the mix position, FOH, very elaborate. 2 Midas consoles, two 16 track tape machines, this was before Profools, one guy working the live sound mix, another guy working sound effects mix, another guy taking care of the tape machines. I had the best seat! Oh, and pre show, there was an extremely long line for the female bathroom and one young gal was about thirty in line and she gave up, yelling "I can't take this!" and she just stood there and peed in her Levi's!
Only 17.. wish I had the chance to go back in time and be at a concert of theirs in the 70's. Best classic rock you'll ever find, hands down, maybe best group ever just because of their sounds and lyrics.
Ben Harrison Pete townshend said he heard Pink Floyd play using quadraphonics and it inspired him, so he thought of creating an album using quadraphonic which became the album quardophenia. He later incorporated that sound into The Who’s live playing as well
Actually it was Emerson Lake and Palmer that started it, as with many more technical sound innovations, who already used it since 1973. But it is awesome that Pink Floyd used it too!

Honestly, that solo carries this song for me; not a big fan of The Wall personally (I much prefer it live, The Australian Pink Floyd Cover Band did a stellar performance of it!), so that solo would be my favourite part of the entire live section, so groovy!
My english teacher had us go through The Wall instead of doing a unit on poetry, this is my second favorite set of songs from the album next to Comfortably Numb of course.
Its amazing to think what Pink Floyd managed to accomplish. They had a number one hit song in the pop charts, whilst being the greatest Prog rock band of all time. Not many bands could pull off that kind of cross over without selling out

He's getting old and wants us to remember him in a positive light now. That's why he acts so different now. There were rowdy people at the show I saw and he never stopped the show to curse them like he did in the 70s. Oh no he's a good guy now. BULLSHIT he's a phony now. That's just my opinion......
