    glad we got to share an efi build. I thought the same thing about the power wire to the efi and I took the lazy route of using the original wire to run a coil on a relay and run 12 gauge through the the tips of the relay instead of tearing through my wiring harness lol

      @FastMonty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ha! As long as you're getting adequate juice to the distributor, you're good. Thanks for sharing!

    Good job. Always nice to watch your videos. On the solder part I would recommend a heat gun for a more controlled heat. And make sure the solder tin is fully melted out.

    Hi I got a question for you
    I have a 79 pontiac trans am. With a 400 just switched over to a tko 600.
    I have a temp sensor on the drivers side head for the water gauge. I also have dual fans and run a coolant temp sensor off of the cross over tube on the intake. I’m installing the sniper fuel injection system and it requires a coolant temp sensor as well. Where can I install that one. I don’t see any other ports on the intake.

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question. You won't need the fan sensor anymore, so use that port. (The EFI system will now control the fans) :)

  • @tcwest83
    @tcwest83 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Great video. I went through some "small complications" when installing my Sniper on my chevy. Mostly due to my trans controller.
    On a side note... bra you have an orb or something flying around at 1:26. Not sure if its apart of your editing or not

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Tim... good catch, it's a UFO! Someone call the Men in Black! ha, ha... yeah, don't know much about trans controller's but, I've heard they're tricky. I assume you figured it out?

    I have the same pcv from the valley pan. Where did you route that on fitech unit? Or did you route elsewhere

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question... I routed mine to the intake manifold. (I have a port, just underneath the throttle body) But, for you, it should be the largest rear port on the Throttle Body. It should be a 3/8" hose barb. Hope that helps!

  • @arzagg55

    Is it good for daily use and the temperature is very high up to 50 degrees Celsius in the summer? Help me

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, I don't see why not? If you're really concerned you can add a plastic carb spacer in between the throttle body, and the intake, to help keep temps lower around the computer.

    Could you have put the return line/vent in the fuel filler neck

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question... as long as the fuel can easily get back to the tank, yes.

  • @johnkennedy8452
    @johnkennedy8452 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I sent a video from someone else who has experienced some bugs involved with FI TECH and he used a phenolic spacer that cooled down his i.c.u. and he also talked about a good ground and a 10 micron fuel filter . I am not down playing your install but just trying to be helpful. I sent the video to your Facebook page or maybe Instagram hope it helps.👍☺

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks John... actually, I'm using the same heat shield and spacer I was using with my carb. A good ground is always helpful, for everything, and I'll be discussing filters in my plumbing episode. Thanks!

    Mike where did you run the 12 Guage wire for the distributor too?

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Bill... it runs from the distributor to the back side of the fuse panel, which is actually on the "engine side" of the fuse block. That side of the panel comes off with a bolt in the middle. Really easy.

  • @arzagg55

    At 8,03 not true, the sensor has 2 wires connector yellow signal and black ground, so the sensor does not to have ground at sensor to intake

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ahhh, great catch. I'm so trained to not use PTFE tape on those fittings. Thanks!

  • @shawnhunter4092
    @shawnhunter4092 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why did you not have to have a fuel return line???

    • @FastMonty
      @FastMonty  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question, Shawn. The FiTech ForceFuel unit has the regulator inside it. So, I just have to run the return line from the ForceFuel unit, which happens to be in my trunk. I might be switching to a modern Camaro SS in tank pump in the future, which also has a built in return line, inside the tank! Stay tuned for that. Thanks for the comment!
