Back in June of 2023, I originally started a script on a relatively hot topic at the time; Kenpachi vs Frieza. It had some pretty awesome ideas involved, and I wanted to use it to explain how BLEACH and Dragon Ball Z compared to one-another, as it's always a surprise to me how the two series are misrepresented or talked about, so I thought I could tackle it better than most. As time went on, the topic felt too niche, and honestly kind of random, so I switched it more towards Ichigo and Goku, the main characters. The idea of Ichigo going through the Dragon Ball Z gauntlet is always a topic of discussion, so instead of that; I went further with this, and just straight up compared Ichigo vs Goku, to show how far he can get against Son Goku's endless iterations, or if he can actually DEFEAT him. " Why Goku vs Ichigo Is FAR Closer Than You Think " - was then sat on for many many months, with the prospect of it potentially not even happening, as I had other video plans get in the way... then, in March, the passing of Akira Toriyama (Rest in Peace) took place. I felt that if I was going to take time away from TH-cam, I had to return with somewhat of a "bang" by completing this video, and making it as best I could. Not only is this my longest normal piece of content, but something I feel encapsulates the most easy to digest scaling for both series. This is my personal tribute to the GOAT of anime and manga. Without Akira Toriyama, I wouldn't actually have this channel, and BLEACH doesn't even exist.

Bleach and Naruto shaped my childhood could never get into one piece but I always loved reading the manga of bleach and to this day is in my top 3 anime of all time😎

Something I've said in Bleach power scaling discussions before is that it's very likely that lightning based attacks (such as the 1st squad's lieutenant's Bankai or the blonde Bambi) are lightning ELEMENT reishi based attacks.
So they wouldn't be limited to the speed of real world lightning since that's not what they are.

Also, I think the reason scaling Bleach can be difficult is because I think Kubo has gone on record to say that he got into manga because he wanted to draw cool shit. The counter against Chad smashing the hollow with an electric pole is to argue that, since the Hogyoku was already within Rukia at the time giving Ichigo’s friends his powers, it was already amping Chad. Chad’s powers later turn out to be fullbring, and fullbringers manipulate the soul within physical matter to perform their abilities. So, Chad was just manipulating the soul of the electric pole. Makes a lot more sense this way, considering that Ichigo strongly implies that a normal weapon wouldn’t be able to hurt him when he’s training with Urahara.

wrong, fullbringers actually just inherit the soul kings power through extremely tiny portions of his body. The fullbringers didnt know what their power actually came from. In reality, what seems to be the manipulation of souls in physical matter, is just them harnessing a small amount of the soul kings power, which puts into question just how absurdly strong the soul king actually is.
This is also why hollows seemed to be the reason for fullbringers. In reality, they didnt become fullbringers due to hollow attacks, hollows attacked them due to the extreme power within them from the soul kings body parts.

I really liked your explanation of “wanting Goku to lose”, in the beginning. When you have never watched dragonball and hear “he can punch universes away, that’s why he wins” then you would initially be in disbelief, one piece characters have never been shown doing this, so how can Goku? “They must be talking shit”. It’s easy to see how many people try to take Goku fans down a peg when they mention hax that may or may not give Goku a hard time.

@@spyrolancer While that's true, majority of hax in Dragon Ball is ki based, so you can't really say it works for non ki based hax. Even Buu's magic with turning Vegito into candy, you could say it's thanks to the potara rings themselves that allowed that, not an argument I agree with tho. Still, the power difference didn't negate the body transfiguration, just the power nullification.
It's also only really through having more raw power, just like in Bleach, one reason why I really hate a certain Goku vs the Big 3 equal state composite video, as the man acts like Goku has all those nullifications naturally, and not because of it being only due to a power difference that he could display such.

If I've learned anything from this video, it's that Dragonball is super easy to scale and Bleach is super difficult. The main reason for the latter is Bleach's power is much more... conceptual rather than physical.
And Bleach uses statements and visuals to show the powerscales
around 33:30 gremmy didnt just :open up a doorway" he fully created a pocket dimension that contained a galaxy. That void of space was entirely gremmy's creation and this was stated by kubo himself
Awesome vid Clyde! I had and still have Goku winning just due to how absurd his scaling gets in later parts of z and super, but I was surprised how powerful Ichigo is you've definitely put me on to Ichigo being the most powerful of the big three it aint close between them at all.

Well he really upscaled bleach, its still not close.
You likely know all of it but adding a bit of what I think:
Ichigo should scale to Juha and cosmology since in terms of raw power he's either relative of likely stronger than him, due to Juha insta negging Tensa Zangetsu with A and later being oneshoted twice by severely weakened Ichigo. This is further supported by Ichigo being a full fledged SK candidate even in base without his zanpakuto's (CFYOW and Irazusando respectively). This is important because to be a replacement for Reio you need to have enough raw power to handle all of bleach cosmos (proven by the fact that Ginjo isn't one despite having right heritage + Hikone needing to go through entirety of CFYOW and multitude of power ups to be on that level + irazusando)
Absolute min for Shutaro feat is multi solar and that's only if we assume that her reiatsu teleported across different time-space continuums for some unknown reason. If we don't do that however than it would be uni+ - low-multi due to "severely affecting X" part of the definition
Every single mention of Gremmy and his dimension states that he created it. This naturally scales to his reiatsu since we clearly see that his V has limits in the face of Kenpachi level power. You can argue that it was with clones, but this can't be the case since this entails that clones increase his reiatsu reserved which is contradicted by Gremmy being exhausted after the feat. This is further supported by the fact that instead of trying to repeat this again, Gremmy just tried to copy Kenpachi's power, meaning that he thought of it as a step up from what he did previously
Similar situation is with Muken. The only time it was described as not infinite is in 13 Blades, which not only wasn't made by Kubo (it even says that Rangiku has Bankai lol), but was also likely mistranslated. Every other instance of it being mentioned as in manga, anime and novels has it as infinite

oh, this has made me realize what an anti feat the gremmy meteor is, all the characters being intimidated by a meteor means they're all easily below moon level
no it isn't cause that scene has been retcon in the anime where only the regular grunt were afraid of the meteor while everyone didn't give a shit about it (and yes the anime is superior canon since kubo is involved in it and is his true vision of that arc)
People keep taking it as a meteor at face value, when Gremmy's power is phenomenological. Even if we take the manga version as canon, Gremmy clearly states he imagined people's deaths by meteorite with no survivors (an extinction event), not "a meteor of x size and xyz dimensions hitting you".
What Kenpachi cut was the literal phenomenon, which is why Gremmy shit himself. If it were an DC thing, that meteor is less destructive than Ulquiorra's spammable Lanza.

If you bring in Dragon Ball movies in you kinda have to bring in hellverse and memories of nobody.
I say ichigo would win because scaling to someone who can just go "yeah no, heart goes pop until you drop" to Goku while with Ichigo he had no way to do so probably because Yhwach was a soul king level entity and Ichigo was the only one close to it due to his hybrid nature (Aizen lacks the Quincy element to be at that level). Considering the only thing infinite in the universe is the universe as well, Yhwach was popping more than 3 universes when going for his renovation work.

The thing ill say is that "Ki" is energy. Life energy (reason why 17 and 18 cant be sensed. They have none) and as a "ghost" with his halo. He still used ki energy meaning ki would definitely damage anyone in bleach and dont get "bonus resistance"
For me Ichigo ´s True Bankai it is WAY beyond Horno of Salvation Multiplier , Because Ichigo in Shikai with Horn of Salvation + Getsuga Tenshou + Gran Rey Cero could cut Yhwach that deep or atleast Slice him in Half , but his only True Bankai state while hurt , coul Pierce him and Slash him with a Normal Getsuga Tenshou not even a Black one , and Ichigo goes to his ´´True Shikai State´´ he was able to Cut a Multiversal Buster Being in Half , like Cutting Butter with Hot Knife ( So if we assume that HoS it is Beyond or Similar to Vasto Lorde Multiplier , we can also assume that True Bankai alone it is a Beast of a Multiplier , and do not even say while both at them together ) but anyways , AWESOME Video , Goat🐐🔥

he even mentioned silly things like the world of void which is empty so it scales nowhere, or moving in the erased future when they time traveled from there so yeah it had time, or hit's timeskip which he negated not outrun, or saying instant transmission is infinite speed when it's stated it scales to the user.
How i always took saiyans in space was like them in water. they cant breathe nor can they “survive” in it but its not an instant kill especially because they’ve been shown to be able to hold their breathe for much longer than humans can

I read a naive comment on here stating that Goku is the Superman of Japan and only comic book characters can defeat him which is insanely untrue!

Wanted to watch the whole thing and enjoy verything before I left a comment. I learned a lot more from both Dragon Ball and one of my favorite series to this day in Bleach so I greatly appreciate that. I thought the answer was obvious although I do believe Ichigo is stronger than what most people think like yourself. I was also saddened by the loss of Akira Toriyama although I'm not the biggest Dragon Ball fan. It would be silly to not have any respect to the anime that gave us not only so many memories but some of our favorite shows. And I would not have met some of the people I know let alone be doing some of things I do now without Dragon Ball.
I have been away from debate battles for a while just because of how serious it can get sometimes with some people but I will always look forward to watching one of my favorite debate battlers/powerscalers when he decides to upload after spending some time in the dangai doing some wacky anime timeskip training. Thanks for the really enjoyable video to watch and I can't wait to see what you do next!

I had so many up and downs in this bro, Ive heard some things about the true power of ichigos true bankai has something to do with changing fate. (just realized u mentioned this) in one poem he talks about needing a blade strong enough to change fate itself. Also places like Las Noches and The Soul Society are there own worlds, there mirrored off of the earth. they have there own stars which means they have there own universe, even if they are just copys of earths universe, its a separate one..(Im not sure about Las Noches tho because without the fake sun its just a moon but i mean that would make sense for what lives there) Great vid, RIP to Akira Toriyama The GOAT.
