    I met Calvin Peete at the Texas Open in 84-85 and he was the nicest guy. I was 12-13 and just about every other golfer kinda blew me off but Mr. Peete stopped, signed my PGA program, gave me five seconds of his time and made a huge impression on me. Great guy may he RIP.

    Everyone in golf circles knew Tiger would be successful as a Pro.... but No One Ever - had any idea he would be the greatest of all time. Including me. I was in my late 30's when Tiger turned pro and I had read about him, but...nah... just another over-hyped wannabe. Now almost 25 years later, I still remember telling people he would never make it long term because he was too high strung. Boy was I wrong! Golf was boring without Tiger for a few years . Im so glad to see him back and on the prowl. When he won at Eastlake, this grown man cried. The way he took the competition down in the 2019 Masters was pure bliss and it made me cry again. Tiger makes golf 1000% more exciting. Hes tied with Sam Snead now with 82 wins, getting to 83 is a given. No doubt he will eventually overtake Jack. Having watched him achieve what he has, it would pure lunacy to say he wont. I am blessed and thankful to have lived during this period in time and experience golf with Tiger.

    My dad told me that Tiger came to Oahu when he was in junior golf. He came with his father to Leilehua GC in Wahiawa, where a lot of the Army guys played, my dad was on the club there. He told me a story about Tiger playing the front 9 one day there and he and his buddies got wind of it and followed him and Eatl for 9 holes. I remember he came home and all he talked about was this young kid that they followed and they had never seen anyone hit a golf ball like they did that day watching this young black kid named Tiger......he said to me...." this kid was something else, you know they say hes gonna set all kinds of records one day".I was on my way to bball practice and just shrugged it off, " yea dad okay, I hear ya" LOL😂

      @norrispg6085 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JordansTake35 you mean NOT hard to generate lag and speed...if you paid attention to Tiger's career you noticed that after he started working with Butch, based on in part on him shortening his swing, his arms started finishing the back swing and the club got across the line at the top making him steep out of transition - obviously not what his goal was, but at that time Butch didn't understand the effect as is evidenced by what he was having Norman do over that previous 5 years...the effect of that steep transition combined with the range of hip motion lead to lower back problems and less accuracy for the given, lesser speed...Hank did fix that

    Everyone in the golf circles knew that Tiger Woods was going to be great and he was. He went out and proved it by winning and crushing the competition until his fail from grace in 2009. What makes an athlete the ultimate legend is coming back down from rock bottom. 4 back surgeries, his infidelities, his DUI in 2017 and now he crawled himself from that hole and overcame those hurdles. Exactly. LMAO! LeBron was next and there will another to follow, possibly Shareef O’Neal. The NBA creates its superstars for its gullible fan base. Tiger Woods is playing the course, against himself, not some bungling referee.

    Each time the young Multicultural child/man broke a record white PGA officials changed the goal posts.....and he met all the goals.
    1st: Jack had an Amateur title....Tiger got 6
    2nd: Jack had (18+1am)19 majors before Tiger showed up....Tiger possesses (15+3 ams)....Then they changed it to not include any US Amateur events
    3rd: Tiger already broke Sam Snead's record.....which erroneously includes 1 day exhibitions, team events, and rain shortened events)
    4th: Bobby Jones won a Grand Slam again part-timers and drunkards.....Tiger did it against professionals.
    Sorry White peepo he is the greatest.

    Over the past ten years, the public and more importantly Tiger Woods came to the realization that he is only human afterall. Now that he has been humbled and gone through enough to test the mettle of the most resolute person, Tiger is back on track to win 18 + majors. Once he achieves that monumental accomplishment it will firmly place him on the top of the golf mountain for generations to come and impact the sport in ways previously considered unimaginable.

      I AGREE WITH BOTH OF YOU GENTLEMAN...!!!!! UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE STILL SOME HATER'S AND IGNORANT PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD THAT DO NOT WANT TO ADMIT JUST WHAT AN AMAZING TALENT HE IS, AND/OR NOT ONLY WHAT HE HAS MEANT TO THE GAME OF GOLF, BUT ALSO WHAT HE CURRENTLY MEANS TO THE GAME OF GOLF! HE MEANS MORE TO GOLF (HIS SPORT) THAN ANY OTHER ATHLETE HAS EVER MEANT TO THEIR RESPECTIVE SPORT! That is just the facts when Tiger plays well The Sales of Golf Equipment & Apparel is Way Up, More Rounds are Played at Golf Courses, Etc. Conversely when he plays bad the Ratings for the Televisied Broadcast are down! Look at all other sports and you can't say that! Basketball Ratings are at an All-time High after MJ Left.... Hockey is thriving and Gretsky is Gone..... NFL couldn't be more Popular and you can name a Plethora of player's that meant a lot to Football.... Tiger made Golf Cool.... That is what he did... He also helped Bridge the Racial Barrier often associated within the Golfing Community & that Is HONESTLY THE AREA OF HIS GREATEST IMPACT! RACISM IS UNNECESSARY AND FOOLISH AND WHILE IT ISN'T AS PREVALENT AS IT ONCE WAS. RACISM IS DEFINITELY STILL AN ISSUE AND IT'S VERY SAD & FOOLISH....IT COMES FROM SMALL MINDED INDIVIDUALS WHOM JUST WANT TO BREED HATE AND AT IT'S VERY CORE MAYBE THE SINGLE GREATEST FLAW IN OUR AMAZING COUNTRY WE LIVE IN! SO TO MR. ELDRICK TIGER WOODS CONGRATS & THANK YOU SIR! FOR YOUR HUMILITY AND GRACE YOU HAVE SHOWN WHILE MAKING YOUR GRAND REENTRANCE TO GOLF! WE THANK YOU SIR IT TRULY HAS BEEN A MOTIVATIONAL AND EMOTIONAL ROAD BACK TO THE PROVERBIAL "TOP" (MASTER'S CHAMPIONSHIP) AND HAS BEEN A PLEASURE TO WATCH! It infuriated ME after he Won the Tour Championship & Sport's Broadcasters, Analysts & people all over the World kept saying "well he may have THE GAME to win a few more tournament's but NOT THE GAME TO WIN A MAJOR CHAMPIONSHIP". Like are You Kidding he Just Blistered the Top 30 some Player's in the World whom Were ALL PLAYING THEIR BEST GOLF OR THEY WOULDN'T HAVE MADE IT TO "EASTLAKE" IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA TO PARTICIPATE IN THE TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP! To ALL OF YOU WHOM SAID HE DIDN'T HAVE THE GAME..... WHAT NOW SAY YOU? I will end with this The Next Two MAJORS are Played at Bethpage Black & Pebble Beach where Tiger has Not Only Won MAJORS at both Places but Let's Not Forget What He did at Pebble Beach when he BLISTERED THE FIELD IN WHAT IS STILL TO THIS DAY MAYBE THE GREATEST 4 ROUNDS OF GOLF EVER PLAYED IN A MAJOR! If He Wins both of Those JUST WATCH OUT BECAUSE FOR HIM TO TIE JACK AT THE SAME TIME HE COMPLETES THE GRAND SLAM WOULD BE EPIC AND IT WOULD BE JUST SOMETHING THAT ONLY "TIGER" COULD ACCOMPLISH! He has the Tiger Slam I know but Wow what a Story that Would Be Going to the Open Championship!!!! 🤔🤔🤔🤔💪💪💪

      This doesn't mean they could never do it, it simply means they can't now, so they pass on the knowledge that was gained by experience. Too many people use this statement negatively to somehow hurt the teachers pride. Huge mistake!
