I played golf competitively from 12-35. Won some big events and had a lot of talent. The ability and the mind that he possesses is what separates him from every other golfer in the world. Sean Whitaker no it’s not it feels like the weight of the world and it feels like you have no options, especially when your young. You watch other people live normal lives and feel the chasm between you. It’s an isolating feeling which never leaves even when you make peace with it. When you interact with others you feel how different you are and it makes you feel alone in a crowded room. If you win people simply expect it when you lose they act like your finished. From the perspective of suffering not knowing what your going to become is not in my estimations any less brutal, simply different. It hurts knowing you can’t ever connect with people because they just can’t see what you see and when you try to show them they take it as a slight because nobody enjoys being told they are doing something in an inferior way. You just learn to bite your tounge when you can and when something slips out, you learn to accept that people have no ability to value what you have. Yes’ it’s better but not because it’s nice it’s better because you have the chance to simplify your life and focus on what’s real. It’s unclear tiger got there but perhaps now that he’s older he’s found himself in golf and isn’t chasing drama out of dissatisfaction. Who knows. A simple life with few concerns and a focus which fulfills you, there isn’t anything more to life all else simply passes into memory and having past it will all fade to nothing.

what truly makes a global talent is not their talent but their raising. Tiger Woods, started playing golf at just 2 years old.. his father pushed him 4-6 hours every day, skipped classes, did everything he could consistently to endorse his skill set and build it up. Lebron James, started at 4 years old with a basketball his step father would play with him from dusk to dark every night and when he became old enough, he practiced every other day for hours. Wayne Gretzky, started as a 5 year old with his father playing pond hockey and grew his skillset over repetition and consistency. Every and anyone that is great today is great because of consistency over time. By the time Woods, was 12 years old, he had around 15,000 hours more practice time than anyone else up to his age. Those hours matter greatly in skillset and that is how you develop as a professional. talent is built,
I'm curious why our country since the 60s only points out the negative racist views and opinions of a very small percentage of Americans and main stream try to make it appear that majority of Americans are racist. Why?? Why is doesn't anyone ever point out how great our country is to raise and nurture a athlete like Tiger and give thanks and be proud of how great our country is to give Tiger Woods all the opportunity, wealth and a amazing life that he has been blessed with from growing up in the United States??!! I just never understood this. People always just point out the negative and there is a agenda to portray our country as racist and evil. I just never understood why someone would not be proud of our country and all the opportunities an amazing life that this great country provides EVERYONE, ANYONE who works hard for it. Do people think Tiger Woods would have any of the success or wealth he has now if he grew up in another country????! If people do not start waking up to how amazing of a country we have and stop teaching there children to have a victim poor me mentality, then our country will collapse. What happened to showing pride and love for your country?? STFU with the victim mentality. EVERYONE of every color who is not born rich has to work hard to suceed!!
It's funny or not but Tigers chip on his shoulder propelled him to greatness and brought him down to earth as well. At 43 he just won the Masters crazy this life.
His father was a retired LTC from the Army, that's awesome! I wish his dad got more press, because Earl Woods looked at the grand scheme of things and realized: 'I'm retired, I have all the time in the world to nurture my son to be successful in life! Let's try golf first...' and dear golly he got it right first try! Insane that Tiger had the game of an adult pro by his teenage years! Great job to his dad!
What a wonderful piece. I love the professional’s comment at the course - ‘his potential is limitless’. Astute observation sir. And reading a book about the open at St. Andrews at the end... you nailed it son!
While he is certainly in the Pantheon of great golfers, Moe Norman, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, and Jack Niclaus were damn good too. Tiger is awesome: IMO the greatest golf mind/manager of the course, golfing athlete, shot artist, putter, and golf competitor of all time, but Hogan, Snead, and Norman were all more consistent ball strikers so its tough.
You see he had too go through much as a kid and being black and mix as a child you hearing people tell you you don't belong here but through it all as a human being no matter what race mix or whatever he follow his dream and stuk with it believing in himself through it all .if that anit American I don't know what is because he didn't quit or back out with the hatred rehortic talk about him or his family he kept pushing too succeed and did he lost some he win some hurt .lost a lot of money but his love for golf will never go away in him the green welcome him back everytime he comes back to play it's like they or one and they are and once again he wins his fifth master.if that ain't American I don't know what is . he's a true and remarkable American golf player.and don't have a got dam thing too prove .he is tiger woods the lion roars again
I like how he's reading 'The St. Andrew's Opens' at the end of the video. He's on record as saying it's his favourite course. I wonder if Faldo's 18 under is in that book?. I imagine Tiger reading about it and thinking about beating it one day, which of course he did.
The thing was everyone in the golfing circles saw that Tiger was going to be great and he was. He went out and proved it to everyone. Everyone loves a winner, but what happens when you fall from grace can you as the athlete bring yourself back up. Well, Tiger did do that when his back failed him when he had that DUI in 2017. He crawled back from that hole and won the Masters at 43 something that blind sided you.
I don't think Tiger is cocky as some have said. It's confidence.

It's amazing to see how much confidence both Tiger and his father had in him a that young age, and then to see that confidence be 100% justified!
right? "he can't lose. The only way he can lose is if he doesn't win, and I don't anticipate that happening." Spoken like it is fact and said with unflappable confidence.
Earl Woods. Kansas raised. Proud to say he's from my home! Also loved Tiger's teenage answers to some questions. His reference to slavery is something he wouldn't do now!
He called himself black. Now heard of referring to himself as caublanasian. He's not even part Caucasian. I kind of thought that was odd but am over it. He's alright Tiger.
@@Mina-ok5qm He identified as people saw him, which is fair. No one thinks of Tiger as Asian before black. It's like J Cole identifying more with Black people because that was how he was treated growing up.
@@kstateman1493 Identity can be difficult. You get mixed messages all your life. You just don't get the privilege of just being a guy or gal. Just yourself. It's all good. So glad for him. I said he'd make it back years ago.
Here because of Tigers 2019 Masters Champion victory!
I love what his dad said. Ima take this to heart. Best advice I've heard anyone say.
Loved the part at 4:39 about "being like Michael Jordan" ...he nailed it! It was fun to hear Tiger say he wanted to "Be like Mike", tons of kids in this generation had aspirations to be like MJ and he followed through, and dominated (and continues to dominate) the sport he loves.
And that was 1990 before Mike even won a ring😮
Thank you, You Tube for suggesting this video in my feed. By my reckoning, Tiger has been playing golf since he was a toddler. That is 40 plus years, folk. Take that, doubters.
People would call him cocky but if u don't back yourself how u gonna get anywhere ? his self beliefe and determination and his mature attitude got him to be the best player of all time

And to every other race. GOAT. ❤️
When I was going up I had a VHS I would religiously play called Tiger woods. It was an inspiration to me. His father became my father with his positive motivation . You’ve done it before you did it before and you know you can do it again so let the legend grow.
His Dad knew......he wasn't racist but just knew the climate of golf.....and the world!!!!
Fuzzy Zoeller. That POS
His father is the real mvp !!! Amazing how the confidence they had back then
Perseverance pays.

I’m so happy he just won the masters again. It’s the greatest comeback story in sports history
He won the Masters today 2019
4:22 TW working that legend of zelda nes
Can someone have him do a reaction video??! 🔥🔥
For those who are not aware; Tiger did go on to play pretty well on the PGA tour.
He experienced those things as a kid and doesn’t speak out about them. He decided to join them.
Fact
what truly makes a global talent is not their talent but their raising.
Those hours matter greatly in skillset and that is how you develop as a professional.
talent is built,
his dad seems brilliant
I wish his dad got more press,
because Earl Woods looked at the grand scheme of things and realized:
'I'm retired, I have all the time in the world to nurture my son to be successful in life! Let's try golf first...'
and dear golly he got it right first try! Insane that Tiger had the game of an adult pro by his teenage years!
Great job to his dad!
Man him being half black half Japanese like me makes me look up to him in so many aspects
half black half thai....duh...

What a wonderful piece. I love the professional’s comment at the course - ‘his potential is limitless’. Astute observation sir. And reading a book about the open at St. Andrews at the end... you nailed it son!
"Your not suppose to be here" now hes is the greatest golfer to ever live and hes a black man✊🏾
Fortunately, Tiger doesn't carry a "black card". He realizes that the content of a person's character is more important than their skin color.
Whats so fascinating is that he had such a clear vision of who he would become so incredibly early in his life.
Tiger has been a huge inspiration in my life.... regardless of the mistakes he has made
I'd say 80 PGA wins with 14 Majors is "winning". GOAT, legend and one-man golf highlight reel rolled into one.
man this guy is an absolute legend. he MUST go down in history as one of the biggest sport inspirations of all time.
14 years old and now has 14 majors to his name. Which he will more than likely add to this year. Great video.
I think he will be alright someday.
Nah, he won't be any good once he gets to the tour.
You were right!

What course is this??
5X Masters Champion. You did it Kid!
This is so inspiring. Tiger in general is incredible, starting at AGE 2 he was on TV hitting pure shots. What???
Asian mother! That's it!
*Proud to be Asian*
He's got to play the victim you know but he only banged white girls.
@@Pfsif He gets to play the VICTOR. 15 Majors and 2019 Masters Champion!!!
proud to be God Image. Thanks God!!
"He can't lose, unless he doesn't win". 13 years after Earl's death, Tiger is STILL winning. And no, we never get tired of it!
Awesome video and cool to see Tiger's thoughts from an age where he hasn't been trained and annoyed by the media yet.
His father was such a visionary. A great man. Thanks for the video.
This gives me chills. He literally became everything we thought
Tiger knew at 14 that he was going to be a pro golfer.. I didn't even start college until I was 24 :(
You see he had too go through much as a kid and being black and mix as a child you hearing people tell you you don't belong here but through it all as a human being no matter what race mix or whatever he follow his dream and stuk with it believing in himself through it all .if that anit American I don't know what is because he didn't quit or back out with the hatred rehortic talk about him or his family he kept pushing too succeed and did he lost some he win some hurt .lost a lot of money but his love for golf will never go away in him the green welcome him back everytime he comes back to play it's like they or one and they are and once again he wins his fifth master.if that ain't American I don't know what is . he's a true and remarkable American golf player.and don't have a got dam thing too prove .he is tiger woods the lion roars again
i doubt the you dont belong here comment was about racism it was more about him being under age
Tiger or lion ??
Tiger Woods was well known by this time as the best junior in the world by a wide margin.

:)
I like how he's reading 'The St. Andrew's Opens' at the end of the video. He's on record as saying it's his favourite course. I wonder if Faldo's 18 under is in that book?. I imagine Tiger reading about it and thinking about beating it one day, which of course he did.
I think this boy will be on of the best golfers one day
The thing was everyone in the golfing circles saw that Tiger was going to be great and he was.
He talks the same 20 years later.
The injuries are what held him back, but his career is already amazing, and it will get better. He has many good years ahead of him!
Tiger actually said he was black. As he matured, he became Cablatian. I wonder why?
He got smarter
@@phukyew14 To bad other blacks dont have that option to choose.
