His concentration and focus was unbelievable, you could tell he completely blocked out all outside distractions. What a privilege we had to watch this genius at work every Sunday.
Bro… we’re lucky we have this at all. Were you around in 93? Do you remember the VHS camcorders you had to lug around back then? Then do you remember how few of those VHS home movie tapes ever made it more than a year without being mislabeled and lost or recorded over? Then do you remember how most of those tapes got chucked out the window when DVDs came on the scene? Finally, do you remember how few people even cared about golf at all before Tiger made it cool to watch and play golf? It was a completely different world. I’m actually surprised that this footage exists at all.
I mean, it’s not that hard to explain: it wasn’t televised. This is the early 90’s, it’s not like today where there are smart phones in everyone’s hands capturing every moment of everything.
If he could leave well enough alone he would've stopped trying to improve after his dominant Masters win. Constant hunger and disatisfaction is why he won 82 tournaments and 15 majors, and why he keeps playing today even though he is already a billionaire. Mediocrity and greatness are polar opposites.
While I love Tiger 1.0 I don't think it would brought him as much success had he tried to keep it the same his whole career. Tiger 2.0 (Tiger Slam era) was the the absolute pinnacle of his potential and if he has sustained that who know how high a bar he would have set.
Dear USGA.. This was a great match that went to extra holes.. You did not show 1 shot by Ryan Armour another Pga tour winner... Great content is the event and the shots the drama... A highlight film of Tigers shots vs Bob May is not the same entertainment level... Dont be lazy and make the proper video for all to Enjoy!!!
Tiger’s preshot and preputt routines never changed. Looks identical to prime Tiger.

I taught Tiger how to twirl his club.
we got 23 minutes this time lol. Find it hard to believe there isnt full coverage of Tiger as a Jr Am. Just hard to believe that doesnt exist.

It is a miracle that this footage exists.
...Only got 2 minutes of David Duval's 59.

It’s incredible how good a putter Tiger already was.
T with the Ping Eye 2's, early 90's apparel and that armhair mustache. Oh, but that swing...
An incredible feat
This has been great can you put on the first 3 rounds of Tigers 2002 us open Win

did Earl record this on a BetaMax? 😅
I came to see him swing it with that sweet hat.
❤
You cannot afford to pay someone to add some narration or at the very least the score and which hole it is? Just to make it more engaging...
He was really skinny back then.
If he would have only kept the same swing his entire career he would have 25+ majors. Couldn’t leave well enough alone. Too bad.
What made him change his swing when he was successful with it?
