Of all the reviews I've seen on this game since it was first released, yours is the most fair & in-depth. Excellent commentary & well captured game-play. A big like & a sub for your terrific efforts!
Yeah it's buggy and some of the outposts don't unlock, which is very irritating. But it has the best takedowns I've seen, and it's fun running around Philly warzone taking out patrols or hiding from a blimp. It's cool slowly agitating a population to rebel also. Very underrated game.
Great video, pretty in depth and fair, in my opinion. I'm thinking of getting the game since it's on sale for like $4 for the base game and all of its DLC.
I am replaying the game for the fourth time, (not in a row, over the years). Love the beginning and when you build yourself up. Great Red Dawn situation. Makes you feel patriot.
Very, very honest review. I LOVE this game, but your criticisms are on point. I have been more than willing to overlook certain issues, but I could see how some would not. It’s dirt cheap most days, and well worth a spin if hit-and-run combat is your bag. It’s mine.
8.5 I played on an Xbox and encountered little to no problems finished it 3 times, each time forgetting to 100% the achievements as I get lost in the story halfway through. I haven't played online or the DLC. It was immensive and the story is believable. No super powers neded, no hand holding, just a pure delight
There are these jobs on job boards. I do them before I do anything else. Because if you go too far in the story, you might not have a chance anymore to finish certain jobs.
I’m having some fun playing Homefront. Going through the story I’ve seen a small amount of bugs but most of them are pretty minor and some I can laugh at, my biggest issue with the game though (and this is probably a more personal problem.) is the aiming. I really don’t like the aiming, it’s frustrating at times to aim at a target and miss all your shots because you need to hold down the left stick to keep the it straight and it strains my thumb. You probably didn’t have this issue because you’re playing on PC and aiming is much easier on mouse anyways. Besides that the game’s pretty ok, I’d give it a 7.5/10.
I thought i wouldn't like the game at first but the game really started tho grow on me and yeah DLC voor the game was good especially the last one beyond the wall a good ending voor the game
Thanks for watching. And yeah I agree. The game is honestly quite good, the start is just a little dry. DLC are really strong. Just a shame that they cost so much.
@@ConversingGames spring deal started so I got today every thing with the main game for literally 7$ 😂😂😂. Ill download it tonight and am so excited I feel like a kid. I played the first homefront in 2011 or 2012 it was really great game.
Its funny because I started a new playthrough of this a few hours ago and I've been pretty much using a Shotgun and Submachine Gun since I gained access to primary weapons. Independence Hall was the main meeting place for the Second Continental Congress during the period when Philadelphia was the Capital of what became the original US before and during the American Revolution against British rule A. It was where the decision whether or not to declare independence from Brittan was debated and later after the Revolution where the convention that eventually led to the shift from the Articles of Confederation to the initial form of the current US Constitution occurred. Though during the period when Philadelphia was temporary capital while Washington DC was being built Congress met in a different building
Home front 2 and it’s expansion pass is on sale right now on ps store for $4 all together tax included .. this video has convinced me to give it a shot
It took me till 2024 to finally play this one. And tbh, I really enjoyed it. Despite the bugs, the experience was pleasing; the graphics were beautiful, the sound design while hit-and-miss with some of the dialog, was on point (punchy guns, ost, and ambients), and the gameplay just kept me in the game.
I appreciated your review, thinking of picking up the game on discount. I had to skip over your story section though to avoid spoilers. Might be nice to add a chapter/marker that says "spoilers have finished now" so we know where to skip to.
You won't regret is. Although people like to throw the word "underrated" around, this game truly is. Still fun, still beautiful, still special. Love it.
So a apocalyptic far cry in the city, and right now its on sale for 3bucks on PlayStation... here is my money. And for anyone who has PlayStation there is a free demo of the game available on ps4/ps5 on psn.
I had a solid 60 fps the entire game running on a 2060 RTX with 8gb of ram... There is no reason for you to be at 30 unless you have an old or unoptimized rig.
I'm playing it now, as a Far Cry fan, and for me it's a 7/10 (because I feel like being nice). My issues is it's so bloody easy. Capturing a strike point is not difficult at all, and once you do the game becomes even easier. Eventually you'll run around with no resistance at all. Taking a base it Far Cry is much more difficult, requires more tactics, and is more satifying. I'm in the 4th area but it all feels the same. The enemies are all the same. My second biggest complaint is that the game lacks personality. You can run around an entire area and you'll never find individuals who grant side quest, just some job board distractions. The characters are so bland. Still the game serves as a mild distraction if you've played all the Far Cry games and want something else. I would honestly say even my least favorite Far Cry game is more fun then this.
I like a lot games that you like so I've finally bought Homefront this week for 2€. Since I don't have gaming PC I've bought it on PS5 it was on sale. P.S. I used to check mainstream websites for review but I stopped long time ago. Also In last few years I rather wait for review from smaller youtube channels which have similar taste in games like me if I'm not 100% sure I will like game, also I can wait. There is a lot good games which I haven't play yet,and I have enough games in backlog.
I vaguely remember buying the first Homefront secondhand and finishing it in half a day, and it never left a mark on me. Completely missed this sequel, but it seems like they at least learned some lessons. Should give it a try! Also, when did we get to the point in game journalism where a 5, a perfectly middle, perfectly average score became synonymous with "This game sucks ass"?!
5 became a poor score when IGN and other big reviewers started allowing developers to pay for positive scores. It meant that average games never got lower than 7s. If you don’t set aside a portion of your marketing budget for payola your game will be entirely at the mercy of the reviewer
if the KPA units wouldn´t be spawning out of thin air and the achievements weren´t pain to get by how oddly they work,i would say to go for it,if you like Far Cry series and have a hunger for such action
Homefront: The Revolution is my "4K TimeSplitters 2 launcher". The only problem was having to play hours of Homefront: The Revolution to get to TimeSplitters 2 😂
Hey Everyone. Ever felt like suggesting a game? Well we now have an anonymous Google Form to do it!

Agreed
I loved this game. The atmosphere itself had me hooked. That part when the KPA launched the assault had me panicking

Well said. 👍👍

That is an excellent price. I think I bought it all for $20? (It's been a while)
On XBOX compatibility settings, players can now increase FPS to 60 for a smoother gameplay.
Just bought this for £1.60 on PSN...
For that price, it could be awful, and it doesn't matter; however its perfectly fine.
Like many others, I gave this game a miss due to bad reviews.
But I'm intrigued by your video, so I think I'll give this a try. Thanks!

I love this game so much, that I am contemplating buying the Collector's Edition with the Goliath RC car. You can still get them online.

I played the dlc recently. It is still gold. I might play it again next year. Still a worth while experience. Thanks for the insight
I'm really enjoying this game , great gameplay
I love the game. Super underrated
I totally concur.
This game always caught my eyes, its finally good to hear all things great in the game. Still some bugs but H.F.R getting my copy today. Thank You

That game is still very underrated.
HFTR deserves 8 of 10.
It has a 8.5 in my book. A third installment would be super. Made by the right people.

$7 is a great price for it imo. I doubt it'll go much lower
