Micrsoft's advertising department is amazing; They've managed to make people who have been happy playing at 720p/900p for the past couple years, believe that suddenly, 4k is crucial and anything below that is unbearable (soupy) lol.
Nah it's not underrated. Story was bad, gameplay was not bad but it wasn't great too, but the biggest problem of this game was frame rate on base consoles. When it first releases frame rate was like 15-30 on ps4 it was really bad. But after that it's just an average game.
Homefront: the Revolution is a pretty good and fun game. Honestly. I played it a lot a few months ago. For what it went through, it turned out to be a decent answer well throughout game. I was actually surprised to see that it actually shipped. While I played it, I took a lot of screen shots. It's very nice and good looking. And also a good warm up for Far Cry 5 due to its American patriotism.

First homefront was good, I agree. But my friend who pre ordered this game said it was a disappointment when compared to the original, both gameplay wise and story wise.
Why didn't Sony just wait with the Pro? They could have easily rode the wave with a standard PS4 and waited for the X to release than release an even more powerful beast.. instead we get the current Pro and no matter how you look at it, in terms of power and engineering, the X is destroying its competitor. Cheercheers I just go by what's logical. A more powerful hardware in every single cathegory should always perform better over the weaker. I was surprised the XboxOne had better frame rate over PS4 but I remember its CPU was faster so that can explain better fps. XboxOneX has simply the better hardware everywhere so it's surprising the PS4 Pro has a few more fps in some parts of the game consideting its hardware is much inferior.

The immersion goes through the roof and the gameplay is more interesting because you have to pay attention to ingame models, not HUD icons Contrary to popular belief, the enemies do not possess xray vision themselves and it's both possible and fun to utilize the intuitive cover system to scan and plan while remaining hidden. There's a lot I want to praise, but in general having gone through it this summer I was surprised at how good it was, given the reaction of the public upon release.
Yeah I was impressed when I booted this game up after previously playing on XB1S. HDR is phenomenal, textures popped, and performance much improved when compared to my XB1S. Now I did run into some performance issues when it started to rain fighting in open fields. The drops were noticeable but the issue corrects itself when rain stops, or you kill the majority of enemies.
You talk about the Pro dropping a frame or two during firefights, yet there are more (and bigger drops) on the X on this video. And yet another X game does doesnt do true 4K
Really sad, we game enthusiasts who own both the X1X and PS4 Pro look forward to the DF comparison vids and it never fails, it always turns negative with the PC elites, Sony fanboys or Xbox fans going at it. Really frustrating. People keep saying the X has no games but I have too many games to play for it as every game is exclusive to it if I buy it on it instead of my Pro, so I overlook those constant negative responses, but are there sites where gamers can come just to get information without all the negative comments, as It really wears on you? I am in my 40s been gaming since the late 70s, and the immaturity by what I assume are grown men that happens in all of these vids really make me not even want to watch. Played the game on my PC after it's patches, and all though it still had a couple of bugs, It was still an extremely fun time. Also, it's a gorgeous looking game.
Definitely waiting for the new console drop the X and PRO are nice upgrades but I’m looking for 60fps 1440p minimum hopefully next gen. consoles bring that as a norm.
I’m starting to think buying a 4K TV now is pointless unless you watch movies in which case the Xbox One X with its UHD Blu ray drive is actually a good buy. For games though, neither of the new enhanced consoles can deliver consistent native 4K gaming outside of a few games. Makes me want to stick with 1080p where I at least get free downsampling even if it means missing out on HDR. Since I haven’t seen HDR in action then I still do not feel I am missing out on anything.

I had enough money to get a x but about a month before it came my gaming pc blew out and I was like ah FU@# now I got to replace this. So all that money for the x had to go to another pc. It it was about 40 dollars less than the x and can play every game I throw at it in ultra setting 1080p and at or close to 60 fps but it aint doing no 4k or 1800p like the x with hdr! But I like to have a variety in my gaming I like having my xbox my ps4 and my gaming pc since I still have my base xbox so I can play that. But the next time I spends several hundred on gaming its gonna be a xbox x...if I can find them. They are selling alot better then the "experts" said they would! I have this game on Steam....and getting ready to get rid of it to make room on my HDD. I find it hard to believe they'd even bother with this garbage. Its that bad. The first Homefront is alot better and thats not saying much.
I picked this up on steam sale for like less than $6 and I enjoy the heck out of it. I originally did not get this game because I've heard it was a bad port but it run butter smooth on my PC. It even has native triple monitors support. I don't normally play FPS with triple monitors enabled but with 6032x1080 resolution, the game felt more immersive.

I haven't noticed any slow down at all on the Xbox 1X. Even during heavy shootouts and scenes with lots of effects I have not had any problems. I've been very impressed with the amount of optimization dambuster Studios is put into this title and it's a shame it hasn't gotten more light because it is actually a decent game.
DigitalFoundary focuses on the purely technical/performance aspects of a game, and that's fine because it is what they are all about, but remember folks, it doesn't matter if it is 4K HDR if the actual game isn't fun to play. Game design and mechanics is what matters most. If a game has that, you will enjoy it just fine at 1080p. BUT we must buy all the things. All of them.

Just to name a few: Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XV, Infamous: First Light and Second Son, Killing Floor 2, Mafia 3, Mass Effect Andromeda, No Mans Sky, Ratchet and Clank, The Last Of Us Remastered (Choice between 4K/30 or 1800p/60), Watchdogs 2, World of Tanks.
After they got an invite by Microsoft for exclusive access to Scorpio... everything changed. They became a lot less negative towards Xbox. They use much kinder wording when criticising. It’s no longer “poor performance” it’s “holds up well”.
This game works perfect on standard PS4, but running it on PS4 Pro sucks as some things in the game doesen't work. A friend of mine had to give it up on PS4 Pro. I finished it with no problems on standard PS4.

They NEVER said every game would run at 4k or 60. There are plenty that do though, even without the bullshit checkerboarding cheat that the Pro has to use to get close. It was always up to the developers where to use the 45% more power the X has over the pro. Some go for better quality graphics+effects, some go for 60fps, some got for native 4K, others a combination. Its all good. I'm happy to trust a game developer to make the choice that lets gamers play their games the best way rather than compromising to get 4k/60 but it looking like crap in every other area.
True, cuphead was the only game I genuinely had fun playing after quite a while. There are a few more indie gems as well like hollow knight, which is criminally underrated, and some AAA games like the witcher 3 are doing something right. Maybe it's because I'm older, but most games don't excite me anymore.

This games graphics are underrated as hell, especially on PC when you can make the shadow draw distance high as hell, which looks stunning at times.

Really sad, we game enthusiasts who own both the X1X and PS4 Pro look forward to the DF comparison vids and it never fails, it always turns negative with the PC elites, Sony fanboys or Xbox fans going at it. Really frustrating. People keep saying the X has no games but I have too many games to play for it as every game is exclusive to it if I buy it on it instead of my Pro, so I overlook those constant negative responses, but are there sites where gamers can come just to get information without all the negative comments, as It really wears on you? I am in my 40s been gaming since the late 70s, and the immaturity by what I assume are grown men that happens in all of these vids really make me not even want to watch. Enough of my rant, thanks for another informative vid, DF.
Played the game on my PC after it's patches, and all though it still had a couple of bugs, It was still an extremely fun time. Also, it's a gorgeous looking game.

Definitely waiting for the new console drop the X and PRO are nice upgrades but I’m looking for 60fps 1440p minimum hopefully next gen. consoles bring that as a norm.

I’m starting to think buying a 4K TV now is pointless unless you watch movies in which case the Xbox One X with its UHD Blu ray drive is actually a good buy. For games though, neither of the new enhanced consoles can deliver consistent native 4K gaming outside of a few games. Makes me want to stick with 1080p where I at least get free downsampling even if it means missing out on HDR. Since I haven’t seen HDR in action then I still do not feel I am missing out on anything.

I have a high-end Samsung and the Xbox x and I'm consistently impressed...
I had enough money to get a x but about a month before it came my gaming pc blew out and I was like ah FU@# now I got to replace this. So all that money for the x had to go to another pc. It it was about 40 dollars less than the x and can play every game I throw at it in ultra setting 1080p and at or close to 60 fps but it aint doing no 4k or 1800p like the x with hdr! But I like to have a variety in my gaming I like having my xbox my ps4 and my gaming pc since I still have my base xbox so I can play that. But the next time I spends several hundred on gaming its gonna be a xbox x...if I can find them. They are selling alot better then the "experts" said they would! And yeah homefront the revolution came along way since its broken release and got thre short but good DLC"S especially the third one! Think I might play this game later on tonight lol

I picked this up on steam sale for like less than $6 and I enjoy the heck out of it. I originally did not get this game because I've heard it was a bad port but it run butter smooth on my PC. It even has native triple monitors support. I don't normally play FPS with triple monitors enabled but with 6032x1080 resolution, the game felt more immersive.
Coming from someone who owns all consoles... Xbots are probably the worst fanboys. PC fanboys can be annoying too but at least they have superior hardware to back it up.

I haven't noticed any slow down at all on the Xbox 1X. Even during heavy shootouts and scenes with lots of effects I have not had any problems. I've been very impressed with the amount of optimization dambuster Studios is put into this title and it's a shame it hasn't gotten more light because it is actually a decent game.
DigitalFoundary focuses on the purely technical/performance aspects of a game, and that's fine because it is what they are all about, but remember folks, it doesn't matter if it is 4K HDR if the actual game isn't fun to play. Game design and mechanics is what matters most. If a game has that, you will enjoy it just fine at 1080p. BUT we must buy all the things. All of them.

WAIT, WAIT, DF is being paid off by Microsoft to down talk the PS4 Pro. They made a huge deal about the PS4 dropping one single frame but look at 6 52 the Xbox One X drops down to 26 and not mention what so ever about this. Furthermore they are always making excuses about the X not hitting native 4K and saying it looks good at 1800, they never did this for Pro tittles running at 1800. It's sad but Microsoft is back to paying for positive reviews to make the X seem more than what it really is.
Just to name a few: Final Fantasy XIV, Final Fantasy XV, Infamous: First Light and Second Son, Killing Floor 2, Mafia 3, Mass Effect Andromeda, No Mans Sky, Ratchet and Clank, The Last Of Us Remastered (Choice between 4K/30 or 1800p/60), Watchdogs 2, World of Tanks.

They NEVER said every game would run at 4k or 60. There are plenty that do though, even without the bullshit checkerboarding cheat that the Pro has to use to get close.
It was always up to the developers where to use the 45% more power the X has over the pro. Some go for better quality graphics+effects, some go for 60fps, some got for native 4K, others a combination. Its all good.
I'm happy to trust a game developer to make the choice that lets gamers play their games the best way rather than compromising to get 4k/60 but it looking like crap in every other area.

True, cuphead was the only game I genuinely had fun playing after quite a while. There are a few more indie gems as well like hollow knight, which is criminally underrated, and some AAA games like the witcher 3 are doing something right. Maybe it's because I'm older, but most games don't excite me anymore.
