The ending was devastating and it caught me completely off guard. Wonderful essay, it was exactly what I was looking for after finishing this beautiful game.
This is honestly criminally underrated. A spectacular essay with a powerful message and an astonishing performance. The ending literally had me in tears, it just felt so... real. I will cherish this video forever, it resonated deeply with me. Thank you for making it. I don't want to forget either.
As someone who's turning 20 this year (2024), this video really hit hard. I'm starting college in the Fall, at least planning too, and coming to grips with my anxiety of the now- be it going in to apply to a job, my past and mistakes I've made, seeing everyone around me already so far ahead in life- where I thought I was supposed to be years before. It's so scary to move forward, because it's so easy to stay where I am and look back. Thank you for this video, I'm for sure adding Boyhood to my watchlist of movies I need to see after this. I hope a little over two years of you posting this video you're doing good in life man, really do. Much love
Insane that it's been two years since I made this! But yeah I'm doing alright. My advice is just keep cruising. Do what makes you happy; nothing is more important.
My jaw dropped when I saw that this channel had less than 300 views. This was truly a beautiful video. It even made me cry. I love how you are able to make your narration feel both scripted and very conversational at the same time. The points you make when discussing this game really drive everything home. From one 2001 baby to another, I want you to know that you’re very talented and I can’t wait to see more from you.
I don't know if you still check your comments, but i have to say this is an incredible video. Made me reflect on my past actions and how to move forward. Im 21 so I still have a lot of time on my hands, unless something bad happens. I hope you're doing great, and be proud of your work. Enjoy the present.
It makes me slowly realise that I'm wasting my time, for every day is precious and time is as well. You're told to cherish your time, but you never truly do until you lose it. Then you think back on what you wish you could've done different, but you have to move on. It's this cold hard truth of having to move on that I push to the back of my head all the time. That I should value my memory and moments more, that life is precious and you should make the best of it. This video felt like a reminder of that, and I can't put into words how I feel. I'm still quite young and have so much potential, yet I look back and think, "Huh, I could've done something more signifcant. Something more memorable." I see now that, even if this really isn't a clear goal, I just want to be remembered. I want to create and use my imagination and skills to bring something memorable, something that will stick with you forever. It's why I'm able to remember famous games such as Undertale or OMORI, for they had an impact on me. They shaped who I am, they gave me a new perspective. In the same way, just like this video has done for me, I think I would like to do that. Thank you for creating this video. You deserve more recognition for it.
This game was really beautiful ! Thank you for this video essay, it was a really nice perspective I didn't saw when playing it. Memories are sometimes what we choose them to be.
Just played the game. What an experience, I felt it hard. Amazing video, can't believe your work as been seen by so few people. Great work, thank you. I hope you are living a life you'll remember as happy one day
This is Jacob Geller or Razbuten level good. Like, genuinely this was outstanding. I can't wait to brag to people about how early I subbed to you because there's no way with how good this is that it's not just a matter of time
Thank you so much! I don't normally do video essay type stuff, I mainly do reviews and analysis. But video essays are definitely something I want to do more of
It's weird how usually i don't wanna play a game because it looks bad/boring. This one looks great but i don't wanna play because it seems like it would make me sad.
It's really surprising how much having your eyes be your input adds to the experience. I highly recommend it. It's on sale all the time. And yeah, it's super sad. But it really makes you think about your life and your memories in a new way. And I think that makes it worth it.
@@ConversingGames Hah, i'm youtube so i don't think about my life. But thanks for the recommendation, i will keep it mind. This was the second time i saw a youtuber praise this game.
Such a great video. Keep making videos or pursuing your goals! Your a talented guy and your channel is underrated. Wow that ending! These are tough questions and this game is great for asking them of it's players. I think film is interesting because you can highlight the memories or instances of a person in an objectively biased way (does it show them as a kind or a selfish person for example). We can do the same with our memories and I think it's important to remember what you can and always try to frame your life in a positive way. Sure middle school was hell but I made good friends along the way and remember it fondly even if it I know I was having a bad time when it was happening. And of course that doesn't apply to every situation, but life is what you make of it.
Hey, thank you so much! I really appreciate it. And you're exactly right with film. It's a great tool to highlight perspective, especially when you suddenly change it up and do a big reveal (much like the game).
Dont know how I stumbled across this but I sure am glad that I did. One of the most impactful games I know matched with your impactful analysis. I wish you well for the future mate, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders.
I played this game a few months ago and I haven’t gone more than a few days without thinking about it. I searched it up today because for some reason I just feel like being sad, and I found your video. On the subject of picking whether Benny was a happy or lonely kid, I think it’s important to judge the imperfection of memory you pointed out. Every time you look back on your childhood memories do you think you were a happy kid? Or do you see it as happy when you look back one time and then see it as lonely the next time?
Good Video. But it doesn't fit my taste that much. I felt more focus on the fear of forgetting than on the joy of when one actually remembers moments. Especially the ending fuels existential dread and I wouldn't recommend watching this video when one has anxiety. Still, good video

If I wanted to make stuff to stand the test of time. I wouldn't be making half baked essays on youtube. So I think that's okay with me
Great video this is one of my favourite psvr2 games i recommend(a lot of the time if i remember) to these that just bought a psvr2.
