Widows story is sooo good. She was a ballerina married to a top overwatch agent. Talon kidnapped her to brainwash her and then she was rescued from them. When she got home, she then killed her husband in his sleep and fled back to talon. Talon trained her and experimented on her to make her a sniper by slowing down her heart (which caused her skin tone to change and her emotions numb). When Ana was on a mission she saw widow and couldn’t take the shot bc she knew her as a different person, widow did take the shot and sniped Ana in the eye through her own scope. - widow also visits her husbands grave every year - there is a voice line in game where mercy says “I know she is still in there, if only I could run some test” when they are on the same team - there’s another voice line in game where Ana says “Gerald (widows husband) was a fool to love someone like you” then widow responds “you know nothing about him” in a snappy tone

Well characters like Sigma, Ramattra, maybe Sombra exist. Plus, there’s a lot of characters who came from places like talon so it’s never really outta the picture.

Junkrat is lanky as fuck, but he's always running around double hunched over with a peg leg. Roadhog absolutely does look 7'3" in-game. Bro's Reinhardt size. Not everything is black and white when it comes to good and evil in Overwatch, but there are some who are definitely worse than others. The Overwatch organization wasn't all good, and their covert ops section was pretty messed up, but overall they generally always tried to better the world. Within Overwatch, it kinda ranges from "good intentions but kinda messed up methods" to "beacon of pure morality". Soldier 76 is kinda fucked up, especially after Overwatch disbanded, but ultimately he does have good intentions. People like Tracer and Reinhardt are selfless heroes who routinely endanger themselves purely to protect and help others, even when they don't always want it. Mercy worked thanklessly as a medic in crisis areas after Overwatch disbanded, because she genuinely cares about saving lives a lot more than she cares about being thanked for doing so. Doomfist is the leader of their main enemies, the terrorist group Talon. The members of Talon are all there for different reasons. Doomfist believes the way for humanity to grow is through conflict and suffering, so he makes the world shit to let humanity evolve. Pretty evil if you ask me. Reaper also seems to be there for mostly mopy, vengeful reasons. Moira is just a scientist with no morals, and Talon lets her be that. Widowmaker and Sigma are both basically forced to be there, Widow through brainwashing (she was a ballet dancer, and the wife of a prominent Overwatch agent before Talon captured her), and Sigma because he's crazy and being manipulated. Sombra isn't really loyal to them. Baptiste just joined up because it was the thing to do, and left them when he realized they were pretty evil. I don't actually know much about Mauga's motivations, but he doesn't seem like a stand-up guy. So I'd say in that regard, that Doomfist, Reaper, and Moira are pretty awful. Sombra is undecided, seems selfish, but does look out for Sigma. I don't know about Mauga, but he seems pretty selfish. Widow and Sigma are victims. Baptiste is a good guy who ended up joining the wrong group and redeemed himself. As for some of the other factions, it differs. Null Sector, the Omnic extremist group, led by Rammatra, can't really be considered pure evil. They're fighting for their own rights, just perhaps not in the most effective way. Most characters are generally pretty good on a personal level, but their actual actions vary. The corporation Symmetra works for is pretty awful, but she herself is overall a good person. Or Zarya, who is kinda racist against Omnics, but is willing to change her views on them when confronted with her prejudices, and is still a brave and protective person. Or Lucio, who is technically a criminal, but he only stole and fought in service of his community (against Symmetra's corporation). So overall, you can't really call everyone either good or evil, but Talon is definitely a more evil organization than Overwatch. They're terrorists, and not for some understandable cause like fighting against oppressors either. They tortured Widowmaker, made her murder her own husband, and then experimented on her to turn her into the perfect assassin. That alone makes it pretty clear they're awful people. There's several in-game interactions between Widow and Moira that make it clear that even the usually pretty emotionless Widowmaker is absolutely terrified of Moira. Cassidy/McCree was never part of Talon. In Moira's short, it shows Genji, him, and Reaper (before he became Reaper). They were part of Blackwatch, the covert ops section of Overwatch. Genji and Cassidy remained part of Overwatch after Blackwatch fell apart, and then went their own ways after Overwatch fell apart as well. Moira and Reaper ended up joining Talon after that. Moira basically just goes wherever she gets the chance to advance her research. Talon gives her funding and test subjects, and in return they use her work as weapons to terrorize the world, and she's fine with that. She's that kind of "advancement at any cost" type of character. To get back to the good/evil again after Rammatra's short, again, no I don't think he's evil, but Overwatch isn't either. They basically just fight Null Sector because Null Sector kills innocent people, and saving innocent people is one of those things Overwatch does. Overwatch isn't against helping omnics either, though they probably should have been more active in that regard (kind of a classic case of the good thing to do being unpopular, and thus hard to justify for an organization like that). This is another reason why I'd say Talon absolutely are the evil ones in the story. They help stoke the fire between humans and omnics, by doing stuff like having Widowmaker executed Mondatta, a well respected voice for coexistence and peace between humans and omnics (shown in her cinematic). There's a comic series with Tracer that shows a bit more about how the omnics in London live. There's clear similarities with anti-black racism and segregation in the US, but quite a bit worse. Rather than police brutality being expected, it's practically accepted by many people. The omnics don't live in segregated neighborhoods, but straight up live in abandoned parts of the underground. They scrounge for the parts they need to keep their bodies running. And here it also kind of shows the different approaches to the omnics problem. Tracer, ever the hero, freely offers her help to the omnics, even when some of them make it clear they don't want her around. Mondatta speaks for peace and coexistence, and is well respected even among humans, despite calling for them to be better to omnics. Null Sector doesn't believe diplomacy is the way to go anymore, and intends to use violence to obtain the rights they deserve. Talon is in the background, stoking the flames just because they like conflict and war (as per Doomfist's beliefs on human evolution, bro definitely doesn't care for omnic rights). Lifeweaver is basically the inverse of Symmetra. Both part of the same corporation (well, before Lifeweaver left), both wanting to help people and the world, and both geniuses at using hardlight technology, but all in very different ways. Symmetra is rigid and uncompromising. She follows the formula for success Lifeweaver talks about in his short. The corporation say they do good things, and she's done good things as part of the corporation, so there's no value in questioning it (well, she does end up doing that later when Zenyatta urges her to). Her use of the technology is similarly rigid. She has her own creative methods, but the results are the streamlined perfection the corporation expects. Lifeweaver is a free soul who refuses to play along to anything that asks him to not question the system. His creations are free and flowing, inspired by nature and life, rather than math and geometry. Not the most original way of creating a new character, but a fun contrast nonetheless. Well, that's all for my rambling. Even though I'm not into the game anymore, I do still enjoy the lore and the characters, and I'm always glad to see someone else get into it as well. It was fun to watch this, and your vid on the cinematics as well. And if you feel like it, feel free to argue with me ;)
Mauga joined Talon because he's a sociopath who doesn't care about the lives of other people, and they're the only ones willing to hire a guy like that. He simply wants to do what he wants, how he wants it, and Talon is more than happy to let him as long as they benefit from the chaos he causes.

Mauge is definitely off like a LOT in the mind 😂. But he seems like he has this unknown knowledge that Talon doesn’t give him credit for. At least that’s what I have gathered after watching the cinematics. But you let me know what you think 🤔
@@thiaoshi Pretty sure people have been crying out for an Overwatch series since it first released haha. In any case, if you're clamoring for more, I do recommend the comics and short stories. I'm not as in-depth on those as some other stuff, but the ones I've read were all pretty solid. And yeah, Mauga is definitely smarter than Talon believes him to be, but his chaotic nature still makes it hard for me to get his motives. Maybe in-game interactions give something away, not sure. I haven't actually played since before he released. I do know he has connections with Baptiste as well, but that's as far as my knowledge goes. Thanks, I hope you have a great day as well.
Fun fact, Mauga was first introduced in a short story back in 2019, It was revealed him and Baptiste were "great friends" and he was the only one who could calm mauga down on the battlefield (they were later confirmed to be exes, so he basically got that peacekeeper rizz), Baptiste left talon (the "evil" corporation Widow, reaper, doom, etc, are apart of) because he saw it for what it really was, however, Mauga tracked down Baptiste in hopes of getting him to join Talon again to "relive the good days" basically, baptiste agreed to do one last job with mauga on certain conditions, their goal was to take down a local politician, but Baptiste sabotaged the mission and ended up escaping with the politician. Mauga gets mad and runs after him, calls for backup, until they meet at a dock where Mauga essentially lets baptiste go (this definitely wasnt showing how Mauga cares for and has a soft spot for baptiste or anything....) HOWEVER, the next morning after still hiding on the dock, Mauga shows up again but this time knows baptiste is hiding and starts firing on the dock, bap uses his experimental immortality field to tank the shots, allowing himself to shoot tanks of gasloine (or a boat i can remember) causing a large explosion. Baptiste escapes on a boat but while riding off he hopes to himself that Mauga is still okay and alive (idk why their love story has to be so tragic like let them live happy but ig not LMAO) Link to the short story if you want to read it for yourself in a more detailed matter: overwatch.blizzard.com/en-us/media/stories/what-you-left-behind/
Another thing: Sojourn becomes an interesting character about the fact that she actually testified against Overwatch (thats what shes doing in her Origin Story) and her testimony is one of the reasons it fell apart, she believed Overwatch became too corrupted and misguided and was failing the world and causing larger issues to rise. Also, Echo is Aurora's predecessor, she also isnt REALLY sentient like omnics, her personality comes from the fact she mimics others (as to why she shares a face and voice with Mina Liao; but she is not Mina herself: and why her Ultimate in game is to copy another character) ITS ALSO worth noting, Illari did not kill her entire community, only the other inti warriors who were at what was essentially her graduation were killed, making her the last inti warrior and protector of Runasapi.
So the stuff with Cass and that horse head group. That’s Blackwatch, the Covert Ops wing of Overwatch that was not public knowledge, headed by the man who would become Reaper, and included captured criminals working for them for reduced or no sentencing. (Genji’s family being an honourable Yakuza clan basically, Cassidy being part of the Deadlock gang with Ashe, Moira doing her experimentations.)
Sigma does have an orchestra skin and emote where he conducts and it plays a special song from the emote, it was only available in a limited time challenge event years ago
Lore: Mercy is imortal from some experiments she did on her self and that was one of the consequences. Thats the reason she looks younger than the other original Overwatch characters yet is still technically the same age. Also she doesn't what to be a part of overwatch but she got recruited and feels that she still needs to help. Lastly after Overwatch disbanded she when to places around the world helping out where she could. In Egypt she used her Valkery Swift Response Suit (the suit she wears in her default skins) to asist Ana (Who went a similar path to Cass after faking her death) to do something in Egypt (I forgot). Cass is not a part of talon. He WAS a part of blackwatch and then overwatch. When overwatch disbanded he traveled around the USA being a bounty hunter. When he got Winstons recall he went around the world recruiting Zarya, D,VA, Bap, and Pharah.
Bad people: Doomfist Sigma Sombra Moira Widowmaker Reaper Talon wants to make the future better at the cost of today. Doomfist thinks that through war and suffering that people can evolve and build a better future.
@@thiaoshi To clarify though: Sombra is only pretending to be a part of Talon for her own personal interest, which as always is information. granted yes, she does do bad things to keep her cover, but in one of the cinematics, you see shes really only playing the game for herself. Sigma is only apart of Talon because they are basically manipulating him through his mental issues he got from his Black Hole experiment, using music to trigger him. in his various voicelines, hes actually not a BAD guy. he has a lot of wholesome lines with various characters, but also lines that show his mental illness and how hes sort of "trapped" in Talon, but does not realize he is. Moira does want to see humanity improve, but shes willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen, including experimenting on herself. she wants humanity to reach a new level of evolution (literal evolution, not like Doomfists metaphorical evolution) Widowmaker was brainwashed have no emotions and to kill her own husband, once again, she is evil but she doesnt really have a choice. Reaper (Reyes), is the result of one of Moira's experiments that causes his cells to basically be stuck in a state of constantly dying and regenerating. He is always in immense pain. He wasnt EVIL before he became Reaper, but he definitely had his share of confrontation with Jack when they were apart of OW together Doomfist is the only character in that list that i feel is ACTUALLY evil. he wants to throw the world into chaos to try and force people to be stronger/better. not much different than Moira, but i think Doomfists way is worse. There is also Mauga. he hes a pretty brutal character personality wise, but seems to be very laid back and likes to relax too. he loves shooting and destroying stuff.
Sigma would listen to classical music when doing his work, and when he was exposed to the black hole, the song that was playing is associated to the trauma, so when his power kicks in full gear and his mind basically caves, he hears the echo of the music like a PTSD trigger

Sigma does have an orchestra skin and emote where he conducts and it plays a special song from the emote, it was only available in a limited time challenge event years ago
Lore:
Mercy is imortal from some experiments she did on her self and that was one of the consequences.
21:51 It isn’t. He said “The field is failing”.
You wonder what happened to junk-rat’s leg probably blown up He is bomber 😂😂😂
that is so true! I guess at that moment I forget what junk-rat does for a living😂
Bad people:
Doomfist
Sigma
Sombra
Moira
Widowmaker
Reaper
Talon wants to make the future better at the cost of today. Doomfist thinks that through war and suffering that people can evolve and build a better future.
So like the Thanos of Overwatch 🤔 Also thank you for the list, this is so helpful 🥰
@@thiaoshi To clarify though:
Sombra is only pretending to be a part of Talon for her own personal interest, which as always is information. granted yes, she does do bad things to keep her cover, but in one of the cinematics, you see shes really only playing the game for herself.
Moira does want to see humanity improve, but shes willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen, including experimenting on herself. she wants humanity to reach a new level of evolution (literal evolution, not like Doomfists metaphorical evolution)
Widowmaker was brainwashed have no emotions and to kill her own husband, once again, she is evil but she doesnt really have a choice.
Reaper (Reyes), is the result of one of Moira's experiments that causes his cells to basically be stuck in a state of constantly dying and regenerating. He is always in immense pain. He wasnt EVIL before he became Reaper, but he definitely had his share of confrontation with Jack when they were apart of OW together
Doomfist is the only character in that list that i feel is ACTUALLY evil. he wants to throw the world into chaos to try and force people to be stronger/better. not much different than Moira, but i think Doomfists way is worse.
Im pretty sure Doomfist is the leader of Talon.
What you need to see is also the cutscenes for the PvE in OW2 and the archive cutscenes in OW1. It will add up a lot of missing info.
is there a video on this? or is that all in the game? thank you for letting me know about it🥰

These are the archive cinematics:
-UPRISING London- (Tracer, Torbjorn, Mercy and Reinhardt liberate London on an off-the-books mission that got Soldier 76 in trouble as the British govornment told Overwatch to stay out.
Soldier 76, Ana and Reaper feed them commands and Intel.
-RETRIBUTION: Venice-(After the events in London, Blackwatch (Overwatch's Covert ops team consisting of Reaper, Cassidy, Genji and Moira) was sent by Soldier 76 to apprehend the leader of Talon in Venice and barely escaped with thier lives.
-STORM RISING: Havana/Giza- Blackwatch has been dissolved, Reinhardt was forced into retirement, Soldier 76 and Reaper are both in trouble with the UN, and Sojourn has taken command of Mission in Havana to apprehend one of the two new Talon Leaders: An omnic accountant and casino tycoon, Maximilian. On this missions is Winston, Tracer, Genji and Mercy.
Recommendation~
Overwatch Genesis
(there are three parts)
Highly recommend it when you have time.
junkrat is just master at having shrimp posture 😭
also abt junkrats leg, he blew it up as a kid, not intentionally
@@usagi_chin sounds about right for junkrat 😂
There’s a theory that sigma’s black hole experiment had something to do with illari’s incident which would be cool and could have a deep story line
If you want to know the complete timeline up til roughly the beginning if OW2 there's a video on YT by a YT'er named Hammeh that uploaded one that goes over things you learned here from the origin stories and cinematics and then also everything in between that's been in things like comics, blog posts from the storyboard devs, etc.
is the video named "The Complete Timeline of Overwatch Lore and Story So Far! (Up to Overwatch 2)"??? also thanks for telling me! added it to my reaction list💙
@@thiaoshi yeah that's the one
@@WindReiter10 thanks!💜
You have to watch the cinematics next
I live reacted to the cinematic's on my channel. It should be in my live section💙
Junkrat has explosives and i think he blew off his leg
Ashe was neglected as a child from her parents. Basically raised by B.O.B. . Was angry about it growing up and created her own. The Deadlock gang
Ahhh im so happy thank you
yeah, I think with time I will start to understand everything! Hope you enjoyed the video💙
19:47 flowers here are bluebonnets I think, a texas girl
thank you for clearing that up for me💜
18:20 true but overwatch is also based in the future 😬
25:55 i js noticed that overwatch only has 3 african american characters
yeah, the options for African American hero's are quiet small.
@@thiaoshi it’s kinda not fair tbh
Well realisticly there's only 1-3 characters for every ethnicity, not just African American.
I dont get it, as in from the US ? cause the game is not US centered, so there are only a few heroes from the US like Cassidy, ashe, reaper and soldier. And if we are talking about the continent we have like sojourn who is canadian, Baptiste who is haitian, Lucio who is brasilian. And don't forget overwatch has 41 heroes from different countries around the world, even robots and animals, like it's normal, if there are not a lot of people from the same area and even less with both the same area and ethnicity. At least, if you are talking about the US, there are 4 of them, that's already fine lmao
@@ryco6270 I didn’t really need a whole paragraph for something I wanted to say😬
