Good job! Finally someone that use REAL medical data from Pubmed, I used Pubmed etc in my work & i see so many TH-cam "doctors" that say things without backing it up with real science, thank you, i subbed
Good to see didn't drink coffee most of my, but started 5 years ago and don't drink it everyday. I like my coffee now brewed at home or work..black with two teaspoons of sugar so happy you made this video. I fell better now knowing I'm not hurting myself but maybe helping my overall health.
Coffee, being a drug, is quite difficult to speak about in a generic way when the effects on different people are so diverse, some beneficial, others quite concerning, especially taking into consideration the level of sensitivity to the substance. I am not exaggerating, if I consume 100 mg of caffeine, 13 hours before going to sleep, I can even manage to fall asleep, but I wake up in the middle of the night and cannot sleep anymore without taking medication. Not to mention that coffee objectively dries out my skin, generates uncomfortable anxiety, and makes me hit a wall in the middle of the day. My point is, no matter how many intelligent and well-intentioned people say that coffee is beneficial, I will not ignore my empirical experience. Good job, by the way, doctor.
It's hard to talk about virtually anything in a general way. I try to be clear that not everything is for everyone. But I do try to show the research that I've come across that might help people navigate those choices better. To your point, listening to your body is always the priority. Totally agree on that. Thanks for your comment :)
I just quit 14 days ago. I used to only sleep 6 hours ( not by choice) now that I’m not drinking caffeine, I’m sleepy 9-10 hours per night. My body is catching up on the abuse of caffeine for so many years.
In these experiments, what was the volume of "one cup" of coffee? Was the dosage "standardized" in any way? (Yes: I KNOW that "one cup = 8 ounces." However, "one cup" varies in size when we're talking about "a cup of coffee." And "science" is supposed to be very "exact.")
This appears to be yet another example of what’s known as “Hormesis” whereby a little dose of something taken in a relatively small period can be beneficial, but higher doses taken in the same period can be deleterious to biological processes. Some examples can be Carbon monoxide, exercise, ionization radiation and perhaps coffee. This concept has been known for many years. Nevertheless, I will continue to enjoy drinking coffee in moderate amounts.
I’m Brazilian and always had coffee, since childhood. The only thing that affects me is to drink later in the day in an empty stomach. The caffeine doesn’t affect my sleep
Definitely caused that problem for me. I had to give up coffee for years. However, I've recently found a low-acid, organic coffee that I can actually drink! Unfortunately it is very pricey, but it is so great to be able to have a cup of coffee in the mornings again. So I guess a lot of it has to do with what kind of coffee you are drinking.
For more on how coffee can benefit the gut, check out my article: drruscio.com/coffee-and-gut-health/
Do you have any research about coffee’s effect on AFib and mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation?
Quitting coffee changed my life. My gut issues and anxiety disappeared. Also my sleep improved greatly.
Different strikes for different folks. You would be considered an outlier. It happens.
Yup absolutely true my wife drinks it everyday without issues. But everyone is different

I also consume cream and sugar in my coffee so that also has a huge impact on its effects.
Absolutely!

I never going to stop drinking coffee if bad or good
One to two cups of organic coffee a day in the morning. Would never drink un-organic coffee. Green tea early afternoon
Contemplating on quitting coffees, because I heard drinking coffee slows down production of collagen and it dehydrates skins.
I think you might be able to find a balance. It's all about moderation. :)
