I discovered that the topper will not rest on the front top of the bed without sliding the topper rails forward like you did. The directions clearly state to put those side rails where you initially placed them but the topper has nothing to rest on when folded if you do that. It just falls completely into the bed. 3rd gen Tacoma short bed here.
thanks for this, I have to modify the 2 front clamps for the weather guard box I have in the front and if I didn't see you adjust for the rear bar I would have drilled holes in the front in the wrong place, I owe you a beer!
Kelly Painter Does it leak at all? I'm looking to get one to replace the tonnaeu cover on my 2017 Tacoma. It'll be used for camping but also to haul music equipment when the band goes on tour. If it leaks pretty bad I would consider another option.
Have one on my '15 Taco. Looks like ST made some design changes with the bar for the 3rd gen Tacos. Mine has held up well and I love the military/safari look it gives my rig.

How easy would it be to just take the bars and canvas off, leaving the bed rail parts on all the time? Live in an apartment complex and kind of just want one for camping/travel, not to leave on all the time. Thanks for the video.
Great video. Ordered one for my DCLB which should be arriving today. Regarding the bedrails, are they adhesive backing or just weather proofed foam and can be easily adjusted? You had to move it up an inch to line it up properly with the tailgate so was just wondering. Congrats on the inferno! Love the setup.
Tinodixieroad, not really. If they want in they’re getting in. I would rather someone undo the snap and take my cooler instead of cutting into the side of the topper.
Next Level Tactical, very minor leaks. It has to be crazy rain and even then it’s negligible. I forget but I think it was in the $6-800 range much cheaper and more useful than a hard top

Not at all. That was a concern I had before I ordered it but it’s a non-factor. You see fine out the truck windows and rear window on the softtopper. The mirrors give the exact view that the soft topper would block.

Nice video. I just installed my SoftTopper on my 2017 Ridgeline. It went smooth and I love it. Had it on for almost a month now.

Bryce Webster it's pretty easy. Just remove the two pins in the middle and you can take all the bars and canvas off together at once.

Thinking of getting one of these. Does the rear window secure to the tailgate in any way, or does it just "flap" around?
