With over 250,000 sold in 2019, the #JeepWrangler is one of the most popular vehicles in America and with the introduction of the #WranglerEcoDiesel, #Jeep has also made the most powerful and efficient #Wrangler ever. With 442 lb-ft of torque and nearly 30 MPG, buyers looking to get a Wrangler should no longer have to compromise between speed and efficiency, just be prepared to pay at least $4,000 extra to get the #EcoDiesel engine.

I lease so 20 year reliability is not a concern and so far I've had 0 issues with it which wasn't the case with the Tacoma. The Tacoma does look good though especially with some minor mods!

Keye Haze its most likely due to the frame not the engine. The engine could probably tow 8-9k easily but it’s on the same frame as the gas engine and uses the same suspension/brakes so unless they overhaul the whole Jeep for the diesel model it’s going to have the same towing capacity.

    • @JDMHaze
      @JDMHaze 4 ปีที่แล้ว

Kyle Burdick Yes I also mentioned it being a body on frame, which is basically similar set up to its competition such as the Toyota 4runner. , If I have to have the harsh ride of an off road truck I should have the towing ability as well ... I mean the Lexus GX share same platform as 4runner and it's pretty much the same damn price as this jeep too But it pulls 7000 easily

The fact that it has a big-ass American flag in the engine bay and "Made in America" means I'd stay clear of it. Arrogance and hubris are uncool. And often it's not been the best country of manufacture at all. Put Made in U.S.A. discreetly somewhere ... Fiat, it's true, has had a spotty record, but so do Ram, GM and Chevy. Otherwise, I think it's damn good-looking. Especially the one with the metal dash--what is that, Rubicon?

  • @JosephSmith72

I have the 19' Rubicon with the E-Torque system and I love it. The 2.0-liter turbocharged engine does great for me, a 2" inch lift with 37" tires and I can go almost anywhere with no issues AND I get 21.5 MPG as an average. I also have a pick-up that I use only when I need to tow or haul something and the wife's car which gets 30+mpg. So for me, my Jeep is more of a toy that takes me camping and off the trails having fun like a Jeep is supposed too. It goes without saying that if you're going to own a Jeep you should also own a practical mpg automobile as part of your inventory. The Wrangler is what it is, a fun time vehicle meant mostly for offroading. I have seen that a lot of people will get a Wrangler then after 6 months or a year they are ready to get rid of it bc they did not do their research. It is a costly vehicle to own especially if you're going to start moding it. I would never suggest owning a Wrangler as your 1 go-to vehicle. While they are fun, they are by design a very inefficient machine fuel wise. If your looking to get an SUV that is very capable and extremely reliable then consider getting a Toyota 4Runner TRDPRO instead, if you are not into rock crawling or HD off-roading, I had one and loved it, but again the fuel economy on that one was not great either, but it was far more reliable, more sporty and could handle most trails with ease.

I feel like jeep is in-between two opposite customer clientele. if they do it right they'll create a brand that's even more valuable. I just wish the ecodiesel had a better reputation.
What I'd do if I was Jeep:
How to command that higher price customer (how to differentiate the trims):
    -outward looks
-improve the interior, offer wood trims, you've done it in the ram, you can do it in the wrangler
-at this price just colors are too bland, focus on custom totally unique trims and special models, making thing look totally cool and fun (why people buy wranglers over Range Rover at 65,00 dollars)
-Why is Jeep's marketing devision in Michigan? Where's the Colorado department?
How to maintain lower end customers who want to four wheel:
-Dana 60s should be a factory option #hummer2.0, at least on mid tier trims
-Lockers should be a factory option, for all trims
-Dana 44s should be a factory option, for all trims

If you order the EcoDiesel & HD automatic that must be ordered with the diesel, on a Wrangler Unlimited (Sport & Sahara) you get a Dana 44 front & rear, 373 gears with a LSD in the rear. That’s what I call a poor mans Rubicon. I have to say I think it is quite, it’s not a loud diesel in my opinion. I’m comparing it to my LLY Duramax that I’ve had for 15 years, so I disagree on the noise. I got into a well equipped Sport S EcoDiesel in the mid forties, that I am very happy with.
