This channel must blow up big in audience, because your videos are so well made and produced. I really wish you the best for the future. Thanks for this good to follow guide.
My personal problem at the moment is, that I do not have so much brush control or perhaps to much paint in my brush, so that I don't get this fine edge highlights you are producing, but I assume this is a thing practice could solve over time. Perfect example ist at 20:37 when you paint the skulls teeth and the bone. There I would have most certainly lost the shadows.
Thank you 🙏 If you can help spread the word to your hobby friends about my channel, that would certainly help. Glad you’re enjoying the channel. Really appreciate the support
Yes, there’s always going to be a certain amount of practice but there are things which you can do to make things easier for yourself. In this case I would say the bit you’re missing is testing. It seems really obvious but its something people very rarely talk about it. Before you put your brush to the model, ALWAYS test it first. I do this on the back of my hand, but you can use your palette, a scrap mini or anything you like. The important thing is to know what result you’ll get BEFORE it’s on the model. Once you know it spot on, then you can confidently start painting your mini. For fine details like highlights, just try painting a fine thin line on your hand. If you can do a clean neat line as thin as a hair, then you’re good to go. As a bonus, practicing painting ultra thin lines will also help improve you brush control and skill. Hope that helps Finally, give this a watch as I think it’ll help too th-cam.com/video/KoRbYuAfbEk/w-d-xo.html

Thanks for watching I completely get that the number of different paints used seems a huge commitment when first starting out. But to get going you really don’t need everything straightaway. Best thing to do is just pick up the basic colours you need for your figures. A silver, a red, a green that sort of thing and then a wash which you can use over everything so in this case a brown wash would work well. Paint in your base colours and then apply your wash and that’s it. Good to go gaming with. As always your videos are some of the best Hobby tutorials on YT and this DG scheme looks FANTASTIC. My only suggestion and it is a very minor suggestion to all Miniature Hobby TH-camrs ;). We appreciate the mixture of paint brands, especially the shout out to better paint types (small flake metallics being a huge win), but it would be immeasurably helpful if TH-camrs could give us paint alternatives during a process like this one. They might be inferior alternatives but it would mean that folks like us who won't have DarkStar or 2 Thin Coat paint brands could crack on with trying this scheme out using paints that are more common (popular types being Citadel, Vallejo and Army painter). I know for a fact that most hobbyists will go and purchase the displayed paints anyway, especially if the results they produce using replacements doesn't look as nice as the results seen here. Just a suggestion as your videos are some of the best available and the above isn't a critique, more a plus point idea. Thanks for your time and efforts 👍👌😌
Thanks man I completely get what you mean, but it’s a difficult thing to try and do for a few reasons, The first is in terms of getting the expected result. If I use a certain paint and then suggest another one as an alternative, if a viewer uses the alternative and gets a poor result it’ll reflect badly on me and I may lose credibility. The paints I pick are because I feel they give the result I’m after and will achieve the same for others. The next is often an alternative may not exist or im not aware of one. I’m still on a mission to try every paint, but I have a long way to go 🤣 Great example of this, is Scale75’s Black. As far as I know, there is no equivalent to the result that paint gives out the bottle. It’s because of these reasons I (and I suspect other TH-camrs) don’t suggest alternatives. There are websites which do have comparison tables of similar colours across brands and I know TTC even have a little chart showing their colour’s equivalents in GW and army painters ranges. Sorry, I know that sounds like a bit of a cop out, it’s not meant to be. And honestly, if I could reliably and consistently list equivalent paints for all the ones I use, I would. 🙂

HELP! I glued all the parts together on all my Death Guard. In your video you paint parts separate. Did I mess up gluing all the pieces together? Enjoy your video. I will be painting mine using your method.
Don’t worry, it’s not the end of the world. You can still paint your DG fully assembled. I just use subassemblies to make it a bit easier to paint behind guns and things. It also makes it easier for me to show details on camera etc. yours being fully assembled will just mean you’ll need to keep hard to reach areas painted more simply. Just get the basic colours on the right details and then apply your washes heavily to create a heavy shadow and it’ll look perfectly fine :) And don’t forget, these are DG and don’t need to look pristine, quite the opposite 👍

You’ll hear from my voice on the vid I’m still recovering
On the plus side, I think it’s the best video I’ve made so far
@@BrushstrokePaintingGuides Take a good rest!
@@WilliamChoochootrain thanks man
I’m good now, I’m certainly over the worst.
Keen to get cracking on some new Cities or Sigmar minis
So when are you doing a Patreon? 😂 perfect video!

Free to all is my moto 👍
I really like this scheme. Like the armor is more dirty and greasy than rusty. I really like that a lot more than the classic rusty Death Guard armor.
Just get the basic colours on the right details and then apply your washes heavily to create a heavy shadow and it’ll look perfectly fine :)
And don’t forget, these are DG and don’t need to look pristine, quite the opposite 👍
@@BrushstrokePaintingGuides Thanks!
Yeah, First comment!!!

I wanna start painting, but i wanted to start with these because they look cool, but they also look really hard 😅
I think you've peaked regarding the juxtaposition of happy background music with choice of model.
Haha for sure
Painting pustules to calm, chilled music
