On the subject of stolen geneseed: that method is not only exclusive to death guard but other tratiors too. Theirs chances of surviving the implantion process drastically increased.
"Don't make a deal with that guy, Morty. He's just gonna [burp] give you a strange disease, Morty." "MY NAME'S 'MORTARION,' AND I HAVE ANEW GRANDPA NOW!"
It took a trap by Typhus, a Death Guard Astarte who had secretly hidden his psyker powers out of fear of Mortarion, who hates pyskers, finding out, to lure his Primarch and the Death Guard Legion into falling into Nurgle's embrace.
0:12 World Eaters when they go for very enthusiastic walks and coating their white and blue armor with the blood of their enemies they no longer care to scrub it off.
It is. Morty didn't fall because of any interesting character arc, he did it because of either stupid reasons that needed so much work from extra material to even begin making sense or he was tricked.
@@Drakona860 fair…but it is slightly oversimplified. While Fulgrim himself fell for silly and straight up contradictory reasons, his legions fall was very tragic and it actually felt pretty realistic how the pursuit of perfection and martial honor lead to the corruption. For the death guard not only did their primarch fall for stupid reasons but they did too. Escpicially the marines from Barberus who have literally become psycher necromancer tyrants after spending a whole bunch of time moralizing over how evil tyrants are and how bad their time was. At the very least the emperors children kept the general character traits of their Legion being perfectionists and haughty. The death guard lost everything about themselves
At the end of the buried dagger and while Morty is falling to nurgle he hallucinats that he's giving his loyalty to the emperor, which to me it seems that his fall wasn't consensual
Warhawk contradicts that. Morty knew that Typhon was messing with the Warp and he also had the chance to stop him but he let him because Mortarion is the biggest hypocrite out of all his brothers. That's what Morty inherited from E. His hypocrisy.
Here's some to consider: What if all of the Primarchs (save Alpharius because he landed on Terra) somehow died before the Imperium discovered them? (Assume that Vulkan was never found by the Imperium, maybe he was lost in the Warp, maybe the DE got a hold of him, maybe he’s in Trazyn’s galleries, etc). The important thing is, what if no Primarchs? If any one Loyalist and Traitor Primarch switched sides for the Horus Heresy, who would you choose for the best outcome for either the Loyalists, or the Traitors? What if the Silent King never got rid of his Command Protocols and took (almost) all the Necrons with him out of the galaxy to perhaps find a new and better one and come across the Tyranids? What if the Great Crusade had all the Primarchs and none turned Traitor, but there were no Astartes? What if the Beast Orks succeeded in defeating the Imperium? What if the Raptor Project succeeded/was never sabotaged? How would each Heresy/Crusade-era Primarch and Legion fare against the modern Tau Empire?
Morty: I hate psykers, only I can stop them! Morty: Oh no, how could joining the side of daemons do this to me and my sons? This is Dad's fault somehow!
Vulcan basically told Magnus that the whole offer for redemption/new legion from the Big E never happened. Seems it was a hallucination by Magnus, or I suspect it stemmed from Tzeentch as the final push to get the Crimson King to go all the way. That being said, it could be fun to imagine this new legion in both scenarios. One where Emps did indeed make and follow through with the offer. Another where it was indeed a Tzeentch fabrication and Magnus' new legion is power armor clad Chaos spawn on some such.
In "The Buried Dagger" it mentions before the Emperor arrived on planet, Typhon had been sent by Mortarion to kill one of the overlords & he didn't. He kept him alive & secret & learned warp stuff from it.
Morty still felt pain from the Khans roasts though. "I should've fought the Legion master. I should've fought Typhus" "My endurance is greater than yours"
Mortarion was deceived and succumbed to Nurgle. Before he said yes, he saw before him the image of his father, the Emperor, which flickered with the image of Nurgle, who asked him if he wanted to become stronger and more resilient.
That honorable death guard marine is actually vorx from the Lords of Silence (post heresy warband), and he was fighting xydias from the white consuls during the battle of Sabatine

Superb video as always @majorkill. Could you make a video dedicated to the Navigators, the major houses, their politics, relation to the overall Imperium and factions
I recently got Death Guard as my first Combat Patrol, so I'm digging further into lore starting here. I'm currently holding off building my Typhus model because of the shape of the head and the armor surrounding it; they look like they have to be assembled early, and I won't be able to paint it properly if it's surrounded by what I've started calling the "toilet bowl" surrounding his head! And looking at the art here, it seems even as Typhon he always wore that toilet bowl! Not only the term is on-brand for someone who was always associated with Nurgle, but it also fits because based on this video, he sounds like a massive POS! (Also on-brand.)
A video about, what if there were no loyalist elements in the traitor legions ,this would also count for omegon and magnus. So there would be no need for the culling at isthvaan and weakening of the traitor forces.. this would be very intresting to see what all the effects would be on the succes of the heresy.

How the great crusade/ X heresy would have played out if another primarch was made warmaster, excluding the lion, dorn, and guy-man since you have videos about those already

yo, Majorkill I have a wonder, so I'm reading the first heretic and I'm wondering if maybe Lorgah is still loyal to the emperor but in a really messed up way, so he sacrificed Argel Tal and Xephan to the eye of terror and he still went into the eye himself afterwards and it's mentioned that his legion had multiple nightmares suggesting they saw the Tyrannids, also Ingalthel mentioned if humanity didn't accept the warp gods then they would die to the hands of aliens, while there's probably a small truthg to that it likely wouldn't have bee the full truth, but I'm wondering since by that point Lorgah knew his legion was loyal to him beyond all else, he could tell them all to jump of a cliff and they'd do it out of love for their father, so become warp infested monster, sure no probs dad. so what if Lorgah used this foreknowledge to begin the plans for the heresy (got a little twisted along the way) and his main goal was to save the imperium, the ee let him explore time and possibly multiple futures he may have seen one where the crusades end, the Emperor dispatches the Primarchs and Astartes that are useless to him and keeps Guliman the Lion and Dorn around, maybe Russ as well, be he just saunders off Magnus becomes a battery, and then 10,000 years later the Necrons awake, an imperium that has spent 10,00 years at peace, while unified is likely weaker than one that has spent it at war, then the Tyranids, so what if Lorgar realised the only way to save the imperium was so betray his father, could it be possible the next primarch to return to the imperium will be a redeemed traitor daemon prince now ready to return and help heal his father and save the imperium given that all threats are now present.
You're off on this one man. The Remnant in Warhawk makes it clear 'He tied himself to the mast while he still could. He could never have given you the agony, only the cure. There was a decision, but it was not when you think it was. The moment of crisis was on Ynyx, when he could have had Typhus slain, but only said I seek the truth. That was the crux. The powers were listening, and all then unfolded as it had to.' 'But I was with him. The whole time. I saw his doubts - he didn't know what was happening. None of us did.' 'You are right. He didn't. He never knew how, or at what time, or in what way. He only required one revelation - that Typhus was the vector. Let him in, then do whatever you wish, in whatever way seems apt to you - the god will take care of the rest.' Mortarion knew that Typhon was screwing with the Warp. Morty could've stopped him but he wanted it to play out. Mortarion; The biggest hypocrite in 30k.
What if all the Primarchs had to choose a Chaos Lord? I know that we have Morty, Angron, Fulgrim, and Magnus for the four, everyone wanted Sangy, but what of the others?
I kind of feel like .. literally none of the traitor primarchs who became daemon princes really came to not regretimg submitting to Chaos in the end.
