This is a great song - tons of rhythm, dance, and beats that make you want to move. Thanks for this post. Parts of this concert are in "20 Feet from Stardom." The backup singers are brilliant on this video.
yes I learnt of this song from 20' from stardom. The backup singers really add to the song. Those big smiles, enthousiastic dancing, really add to the performance.
I just realized David is my favorite artist, hes was a wacky young dude making banging music with subtle context. Now hes still wacky but a silver fox :3. This preformace tho, would have given alot to be him, jammin
Imagine what it was like seeing him in concert then I love them way back in the 80s they were unreal absolutely unreal especially songs like once in a lifetime and take me to the river but yeah once in a lifetime that was the ultimate imagine 14 15 year old kids getting into that wow and then stuff like Slippery People Slippery People the ultimate the beat just beat and the version where they're doing it in concert you know and he's tapping his feet up and down on the two dark girls happen their feet up and down it's just massively and the little sounds he makes to do it's just too much I better shut up now

one of the back up vocalists is Lynn Mabry of Brides of Funkestein, from the George Clinton camp
