Yoko isn't the exclusive reason for the breakup, but she certainly was an element of it. They were growing apart, developing different musical directions. John was getting deeper into debilitating drugs, Paul wanted more control, George wanted more recognition. They had one hell of a run, and were likely just sick to death of each other. I'll tell you what..... having been in several bands over the years, I've seen my share of "Yokos", and it always became an issue. Girlfriends, wives, friends in general do not belong in the studio when a band is writing or recording or mixing, and Yoko just wouldn't go away. John - at one point - had a BED brought into the studio for Yoko to lounge on, and had a microphone hanging over her so she could "offer her advice" (as if the others wanted it), according to George. Yeah, she was a problem, but then so was John's fiddling with heroin, and Paul's power trip. It had to end sometime.

The Beatles broke up because the members were growing up, looking for new interests and they were getting married, having children and they were extremely business creating their careers. Life moves forward and they were lucky to be so talented and able to sustain their career for over 50 years. Wow!
Two huge things happened: Brian Epstein died and Allen Klein dug his meathooks in. The boys were growing up but also floundering and fighting when Allen Klein stepped in at John’s request. The Beatles still had love for one another but they weren’t a functional unit anymore and without Brian there to be the neutral parent, the soulbrothers kept treating each other like crap with Paul getting the worst of it until he said “See ya in court assholes.” All good things must come to an end unfortunately 😢
Another misleading title. There is nothing new here. Nothing about Yoko destroying anything. Ringo and Yoko are friendly and he never has said that she destroyed the Beatles. Not back then and not now or ever.
Well, this is how newspaper’s make up ⬆️ junk!I do know, that John Lennon had met Yoko Ono at the Indiga Gallery in London,England in the fall of 1966,and it was in November of that year.Which happen’s to be my birthday,🎂 by the way!Too,this click bait as it’s called is just plain….silly!Too,I’ve never heard of this, either!😞😵
JOHN broke up The Beatles. He was the one who let her stay in the studio, he was the one who made his relationship with her a priority over the band, he told the other members he was leaving, he made those choices not Yoko.
true it was John's decision to allow yoko to control him, and to annoy the shit out of everyone she came in contact with. but a good person would've said "no John, you go be with the band. i'll be here for you when you're done for the day". a good person would not have let John give her the wheel. a good, less selfish person would not have interfered with something that was not hers - and not even within miles of anything she had any talent for.
Have any of you ever concidered that the Beatles were going to break up - even if Yoko wasn’t there? They were tired of working together and couldn’t wait to go out and start having a normal life, as normal as they could!
Well, I'm not surprised to find that Ringo did not throw Yoko under the bus. I watched the whole thing, ready to refute anything to the contrary, because he simply doesn't do that sort of thing. It's not that I'm defending Yoko, it's that I've never heard him say anything unkind about his bandmates or their partners.
I grew up with Paul McCartney in Speke and was a friend. It was really good to hear this story of Ringo because he was a late addition to the band for me. We lost touch once they began to travel but still I admire them for the effect that they had on Liverpool. Their fame is enduring.
THE BEATLES WERE SO DIFFERENT, YOU JUST HAD TO LOVE THEM. I WAS 12 YEARS OLD, WHEN I HEARD THEM ON THE RADIO, "I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND"! I LAUGHED BUT THEY WERE THRILLING, THE BEATLES MADE THE SIXTY'S A WONDERFUL DECADE TO BE YOUNG! AND, I'M 73 YEARS OLD NOW AND STILL LOVE THE BEATLES! I'M SO GRATEFUL THAT RINGO STARR AND PAUL MCCARTNEY ARE STILL WITH US! THEIR VERSATILITY AND INVENTIVENESS MADE MUSIC GROW AND EVOLVE. SO, GREAT THEIR MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR!! LOVE YOU RINGO AND PAUL, ALWAYS!
I couldn't agree with you more. I'm 72 years old, a retired firefighter, and I loved every last one of them. They had a profound effect on my life that was nothing. but good. I couldn't agree more with what she said.
I am 65 and was in love with Ringo when I was 8 dancing to the radio when my grandmother went shopping since those stations were not allowed. The Beatles were a massive part of my childhood and teen years!
They had issues even before Yoko, and they had business issues that were unresolved. However, I think the TIMING of the breakup was perfect. They didn't hang around to embarrass themselves like the Stones did.
Ringo says he'll always have a home with Yoko, why wouldn't she offer a home to John's son Julian,? Cant believe an adult could be so jealous of a child.
for what I read in a interview, Lennon was asked about the break up of the Beatles and Lennon reply, because every was saying Beatles, Beatles, he wanted to hear John Lennon.
The title of the video is completely misleading! Anyway, Ringo is too much of a gentleman to publicly give demeaning comments about anybody. What is the purpose of these videos?
I'm a 75 year old singer/ musician, that enjoyed the young Beatles, and performed a few of their earlier songs. I never cared for their movies, and when then evolved into the psychedelic music, I closed the door on listening to the Beatles. For 20 minutes I listened to this video, which turned out to be a Ringo biography, never hearing a single word about Yoko !
Closed the door on the Beatles ?! You have to be tone deaf to not like Rubber Soul, Revolver, or Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band . Three of the best albums ever made ! Sorry for your loss, mate .
@@Patriotman-s6l You left out "The White Album". Shame on you !! ( although there are many evaluations and critiques of this album, it is my personal favourite because of those evaluations and critiques). 😊😊
Clean back in the late 60s everyone knew yoko was the biggest reason the Beatles broke up. She could stir up some controversy very easily, just by showing up at practice.
Yoko Ono is Japan’s weapon that they unleashed upon the US and Britain as an act of revenge for what happened to Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 Just like the radiation from radioactive fallout, Yoko Ono’s 2nd and 3rd hand embarrassment continues to radiate to this very day due to her cringeworthy performances that she was never invited to do
I don’t know if it’s possible, but there should be a click bait police. The title of this video which is totally fault got over 39k hits. Our only way to fight back is to never open anything from golden rewind… And definitely don’t subscribe. These people should be ashamed of themselves. What worries me is if somebody from the younger generation runs across this video they might believe this is gospel. The Beatles weren’t only music they were history. And there’s so many more reputable TH-cam channels that deal with the true facts,
I hate Yoko even if she didn’t “technically” break up The Beatles (which she did). Seeing (and hearing) her squealing like a banshee while John performed was sickening, and made me wonder if John, who was a strong leader for the Beatles, had lost his mind and self respect by allowing this no-talent shrew to impose herself on the biggest musical group in history. It’s a damn shame that it all ended so unceremoniously, and I lay the blame squarely at the feet of Yoko. If that wasn’t enough, the way she treated Julian was petty and disgusting, pushing Julian aside for no-talent Sean. No one will mourn when this horrible woman checks out.
Doubt if John was a strong leader for long--after fame he was more interested in being some sort of bizarre societal ghuru, doing all sorts of weird stuff. Peruse the comment of the time and most people noticed it was Paul doing all the heavy lifting. There's a famous vid of a conversation between John and cartoonist Al Capp--find it on TH-cam--that people took seriously at the time that demonstrates how far from reality both John and his fans were at the time.
And here I am I just stopped at minute 21 and I haven't listened to one single piece of this video and I'll bet you it's just you talking showing pictures and we're not hearing one single beetle make a comment want to take a wager on that Minute 21:35 seconds
You didn't really explore Yoko Ono at all, at all. She had her own story. I loved that you reported so fully on Ringo though, as he was a much more remarkable talent, still is, than I had ever realized.
I lived in Sunvalley Idaho. I picked up Steve Miller and his wife Kim. Took them to the airport in Hailey Idaho. On the way he told me how he got into the business. He was on the roof of Apple record's with the Beatles. They were filming Get back and don't let me down. He told me that Ringo and George were late because Yoko was there. There are several you tube videos of them on the roof top filming. If you find the right one you will see a camera shot at Ringo. He looks at Yoko and puts his head down with a mean look and picks it back up and got back to playing. Steve if you see this. I promised I will never tell anyone your code names when checking into a Hotel. I never did.
Yoko Ono is Japan’s weapon that they unleashed upon the US and Britain as an act of revenge for what happened to Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 Just like the radiation from radioactive fallout, Yoko Ono’s 2nd and 3rd hand embarrassment continues to radiate to this very day due to her cringeworthy performances that she was never invited to do
God, thank you for healing and helping the Beatles and us. Thank you that you made all things. I pray for redemption and salvations throughout all generations in Jesus name. Amen 🙏
I guess Yoko played a part, but, the truth is The Beatles were breaking up anyway; they pretty much shaped the 1960s both musically and culturally, and the individual members had taken the band's tremendous and unprecedented creativity as far as it could possibly go. A nice little run-through of Ringo's musical career - liked and subscribed; thanks for uploading.
In general, Paul, I believe, said it was nearing an end as a ' band.' However, the sessions were kind of a guys " club." Yoko came in w/ John. She sat on Paul's ' amp.' Paul felt it rude. ( I would' ve felt same)😮😮😮
They were the real evolution of classic rock music but time changes and then came an era of the late 60s Vietnam war, politics , drugs ,country protests , hippies flower power, fame tension and great changes ego and finance problems and Yoko just happened to be in the middle at that time .......imagine if all would of been together now still . Thanks for those great Beatle songs ..bless you all😊
Ringo was/and is great. We should all be as humble. He got the gig as drummer because he was simply a better drummer. Best was best but Ringo was better. However, Ringo never pretended he was on the same level as John or Paul. When you are a Ringo, that is something to be happy about. And if you are a Paul, You can do what you want and it really doesn't matter if it's a "success" You don't need the money. You want people to like you because that means you have probably done something positive for them. but if they don't, Screw them.
The most despicable act that Yoko committed was denying the employment of security guards from protecting John. As far as the Beatles go, I think she was jealous of the bands relationship with each other. She could not have the kind of connection the Beatles shared. Jealousy is a cruel and destructive spirit. I believe it was also responsible for the hurt that she caused for Sean. Well, too bad John didn't put on his big boy pants to protect his first son.
I initially thought that Yoko Ono was the cause of the break up until going through the history documentary of the BEATLES I have found myself to be wrong
We all know it was very normal. People grow up get married & move on. Ringo was always a journeyman musician. If he finished in one band he'd move to another. That's a real musician for you. Ringo is an amazing drummer who plays for the band, not to make himself look great as an individual. He has always played by ear, knowing instinctively what rhythms to play. That's the sign of a great drummer.
Struggling to find any evidence of Ringo hating Yoko and she being the cause of The Beatles splitting up ... Why not just have called this documentary video 'Ringo's life story' ? ... Having said that, quite informative and enjoyable and worthy of a viewing, what a journey.
Its Clear Yoko wasn't the reason the beatles went different ways ,She always supported John it must have been hard to loose him ,its a shame the beatles drifted apart because as a band they Shined .
In minute 28:08 the narrator says Ringo said Yoko was the reason for the break up of the band, but later, quotating Ringo's words the real reasons are explained. They match in a high degree with Ian McDonald in "Revolution in the Head: The Beatles' Records and the Sixties" despite McCartney disagreement with that book, considered by many the Beatles Bible. McDonald's book says what The Beatles music means, Lewisohn reference books what they did.
We all know she broke them up, thia was my era & when she came the & started to interfere with the band the fans went wild, she was not liked, but John followed her around & did what she said.
As Ringo said, I believed when The Beatles broke, because they had grown up and their priorities had changed as did their musical interests evolved so did they. Peace & Love!
This is a very deceptive and bad-faith way to get people to watch your video. Ringo has never once accused Yoko of "destroying the Beatles". Your video produces no evidence that he did and is pure clickbait.
@@spiritualparadise4887 You entitled to say what you want but get your facts right when you speak, she was a very disruptive force that was well known.
If you're decent, you'll still change your clickbait title. You know you can. No need for a completely deceptive title. Even if you just said "Ringo" Starr, the same number of viewers would have probably viewed it.
All other reactions aside, at least this video serves the purpose of providing an extensive and fairly believable biographical sketch of Ringo, from his childhood and the many health challenges he weathered, through his time with The Beatles, and into a variety of the personal and professional pressures he has experienced. I’m attempting to find the benefit of what I watched. That being said, the manner in which the producers of this video deceptively lured potential viewers into their flaccid revelations of- the REAL story behind the breakup of The Beatles is pathetic! Ringo FINALLY comes clean! And we’re so thirsty for that insight, we reach for the bottle AGAIN. I think it’s pretty apparent that, during the course of producing the “white album”- an album they were so enthusiastic about, they couldn’t even identify it- gravity had kicked in and our lads had finally entered that gradual descent. The fact that John had decided he wanted his new wife beside him on a 24/7 basis was just a coincidental aspect. And there lies the REAL misidentification! It wasn’t YOKO who was the one causing any conflict. She might as well have been a bucket of bananas! She just took up space. There were a few minor altercations and moving the bed into the studio was a bit extreme, but the guys were becoming numb by that time. If anything should be BLAMED for creating tension in the atmosphere, it would be JOHN’S decision to force the other bandmembers to tolerate his bucket of bananas. And John’s increasing dependence upon drugs- addiction to HEROIN. The fact that the other guys put up with that is testimony that they were ALL sliding. So Yoko didn’t initiate any problems. She might have intensified things by indulging John’s problems. I find it amazing that they came through the production of that album and found motivation to pull the strings together and move forward.
Agreed. Yoko wasn't the cause but one of the consequences. The fact that she was present in the studio was a sign that the "worm was already in the fruit" (French expression)
But Beatles were over. So their fans (The Clingons) were fans of a past tense group. If John had already left and turns to the comforts of a woman. That needn't effect the Clingons. Really. I was a Clingon. Never even knew they were a by gone entity. I was just a 12 year old in February 1970 onwars and still had posters of them on my wall. My only contact with them was records and radio and I did not even know of Yoko Ono. But later. Yes-Sure if Mr. Lennon decided to go in a different direction than that was his choice and upto him. Not up to the fans of a bygone entity which onl remained as a business and marketing entity.
The title of this video is the complete opposite of what Ringo said; won't be fooled again.

The Beatles broke up because the members were growing up, looking for new interests and they were getting married, having children and they were extremely business creating their careers. Life moves forward and they were lucky to be so talented and able to sustain their career for over 50 years. Wow!
That's the official version put out by The Beatles themselves. It is more complicated than that.

Muito bem você falou tudo. É desse jeito que penso também. Parabéns você assim como eu e milhões
John's ego was too oversize and Ono egged him on. A minor talent compared to Paul.
Yes - pure, cynical, lying click bait. Insulting - to us, to Ringo, to Yoko. Shame

Julian Lennon had to sue Yoko Ono in court to get what belongs to him after his father's death, she's a selfish b****
Even if the Beatles broke up their music lives forever in our hearts
JOHN broke up The Beatles. He was the one who let her stay in the studio, he was the one who made his relationship with her a priority over the band, he told the other members he was leaving, he made those choices not Yoko.
She was behind him. They were druggies.
She influenced him in the wrong way
@@sweetrose813 Your spouse always influences your life, but Yoko was hardly the only factor.
true it was John's decision to allow yoko to control him, and to annoy the shit out of everyone she came in contact with. but a good person would've said "no John, you go be with the band. i'll be here for you when you're done for the day". a good person would not have let John give her the wheel. a good, less selfish person would not have interfered with something that was not hers - and not even within miles of anything she had any talent for.
Have any of you ever concidered that the Beatles were going to break up - even if Yoko wasn’t there?
They were tired of working together and couldn’t wait to go out and start having a normal life, as normal as they could!
Clickbait yes.

Aside from the obvious clickbait I very much enjoyed this in depth look into Ringo and his amazing career!
You are awesome Ringo
You and I are the same age. I knew they would be big.
I am 65 and was in love with Ringo when I was 8 dancing to the radio when my grandmother went shopping since those stations were not allowed. The Beatles were a massive part of my childhood and teen years!
I totally agree
I was 9 when they first appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show in Feb., '64. My fondest memory.
People grow up and in different directions. Thankful for the music they gave us. ❤

THIS IS SO FANTASTIC X
So true.
Likeable man😇😎
Doubt if John was a strong leader for long--after fame he was more interested in being some sort of bizarre societal ghuru, doing all sorts of weird stuff. Peruse the comment of the time and most people noticed it was Paul doing all the heavy lifting. There's a famous vid of a conversation between John and cartoonist Al Capp--find it on TH-cam--that people took seriously at the time that demonstrates how far from reality both John and his fans were at the time.
@jts3339, squealing like a banshee? Please! I've never heard a banshee that sounded as bad as her. They probably all look better too.

Thank you
Just from the horrific way she treated Julian, very easy to assume she had a hand in breaking up the band.
This video is click-bait. Watch the video at the 28-minute mark. Ringo says Yoko had nothing to do with the breakup.

She sat on Paul's ' amp.' Paul felt it
rude. ( I would' ve felt same)😮😮😮
The caption was very misleading. I heard more than I ever cared to about his life but virtually nothing about Yoko and John.
Thanks for those great Beatle songs ..bless you all😊
Dingo is a very kind person and he is very sweet too
Ringo was/and is great.
Ringo such a honest person lovey story ❤
The most despicable act that Yoko committed was denying the employment of security guards from protecting John. As far as the Beatles go, I think she was jealous of the bands relationship with each other. She could not have the kind of connection the Beatles shared. Jealousy is a cruel and destructive spirit. I believe it was also responsible for the hurt that she caused for Sean. Well, too bad John didn't put on his big boy pants to protect his first son.

Thank you thank you so much fantastic xxxxxx
So, a youth with lifelong health problems will probably outlive all the other Beatles.

Yoko Ono may not have DESTROYED The Beatles for them, but she sure was the complete opposite of The Beatles to many of their fans.
