- July 14th 2023: It's day 40 of my trip through Scandinavia, and also my last day in Sweden! I embark on the last bit of the Swedish TET, and end the day with a dip in the ocean at Barsebäckstrands Camping. They kindly offered me a cabin at their camping for the night.

When I was younger, I was constantly riding my motorcycles to different places. When I look back at those days, I realized how often I missed things because I was either riding too fast, or I was busy just trying to get to where I was going. Now that I’m older, I ride slower and at a more relaxed pace, observing everything around me in a better way. ✌️

A bicycle is the best way to get to know local places. I've also ridden lots of motorcycles, and I remember so often wishing I was at the beach if I rode by one, or just seeing other people doing something interesting. Even though riding a motorcycle is so much more interesting than driving a car, you still move by landscape too quickly to really get a feel for a place.

Great video! I enjoyed all of the countries you visited . The kindness of strangers, never ceases to amaze me. I was in the high tatras years ago and fell asleep in town center. When I woke up I figured I would find a place to camp.I was backpacking. An older couple wouldn't have it and invited me to their home. I will never forget that. Pay it forward. It makes the world a better place. Best!
I know how you feel. Last summer I was exhausted after 3 weeks touring and didn't do a second planned tour. Next season I'm going to build rest days off the bike into my tour. I think they are important to recharge. It's tough because I always feel the pressure of time and distance but I'm really going to try either local sightseeing days or just days lounging at camp. Going to pack my hammock!

I totally understand you being tired after being on the road for 40 days! But can really recommend driving north of Helsingborg up to and around Kullen and Mölle if you ever come here again. Skåne has many good and scenic bike roads and a very different landscape from the rest of Sweden. Beautifully shot and edited! You really make a good case for exploring Scandinavia on bike! In July 1977, my friend and I toured Czechoslovakia on such motorcycles. These were motorcycles of Polish production called WSK-175. Unfortunately, it's hard to compare them to your horse. I envy you.

Travelled for four months through Europe in 23 and there was no greater delight than coming across a Burger King or similar just when you are feeling a bit peckish! Love trying new foods ( Didn’t see a moose in Norway but had a moose burger on a rainy, late afternoon in Lom!) but sometimes you just want straight burger and chips.

As always Runa a fantastic video, so nice to see Jonas 2 as well, he didn’t look like me at all 😂 If I’m heading south on TET some time I will try to get in contact with him as he’s also one of my followers 😊.
By the way Swedes is exactly like Norwegian. we also place as far from each other on busses and almost changed sidewalks when meeting each other. On a running track you know the one in the forests, it sometimes gets a little awkward. If we meet a person we use to say Hej (hello) the first time we meet, the next time we might say hej,hej (hello, hello) then if we meet the same person a third time it gets really awkward 🤔 We don’t know what to say we can’t say hej,hej,hej, and god forbid we can’t stop and talk.
You have to remember that you are not a stranger, especially not to your followers that invites you. They really want to meet you, some of them have waited for many years to finally meet you 😂

Yeah, we can easily be a bit awkward in such situations. But I think I might have talked way too much - motormouth - and Runa might have gotten sore ears afterwards. 😢
@@JEmmertz Being at Turbo though myself I know what you talking about. Well Runa wasn’t directly quite her self during her visit. But I can guess she was exhausted after first almost don’t talk to a single person for over a month and then meet a lot of not so quite people.🤔
Yeah thats exactly what it's like!😂 The forth time we just pretend like we don't see eacother! Perhaps it goes for most nordic countries 😊 Only time you really say hello is while outdoors hiking, skiing etc.

No, No, No, you must walk up to the cows, there are no calves there or bulls. . I will fall out of my chair one day when I see you petting and rubbing against the cows and just pushing against them. That is my mission for your. Not to be afraid of Cows and other animals. You have everything else mastered. It just takes practice and technique. Cows are just so funny and cute and curious. 😍😍

Sorry I wasn't offering coffee and ice-cream, it all happened rather quickly and we did have to randomly meet on the road at Röstånga. I promise to buy you dinner, ice-cream and coffee the next time! I think I gave wrong signals about my face, but to give you all an idea: lower part of my face resembles Runa's roadkill 🧔♂️ and the rest looks like Kojak...
Late edit: Barsebäcks camping was a bit further north than I thought it was, but glad to see you made it there. The water temperature was roughly where I start to contemplate going for a dip. In many of these places you can walk half-way across to Denmark before the water reaches your neck.

I had to toss myself into the car on my first week of holiday and find a reasonable way to backtrack and find you. We were both moving targets, and I drove down (south) from Helsingborg and then east, trying to figure out where and how you were riding and on which road. It was bloody luck that I met you just next to a resting place with benches and a table.
It was all worth it.

Seeing your videos makes me regret i didnt take an mc license back in 1989 when i got my car license 😢😢 STEIKE 😂 Now i have a back injury so i dont dare putting money into doing that but im ok with going by car to Norway though. I think its going to be the 36th tour now in 2024 and finally im going to pay a visit to Lofoten.

Have fantastic trip to Lofoten - and if it's too crowded for you, drive a bit further north to the stunning Vesterålen and the west side of Andøya, and if you have time for even more, Senja! SO much to see 😃
@@OffSheGoesADV First trip was with my grandparents in 1973(2 years old) up to Brekkvasselv in Nord-Tröndelag and we kept going year after year,mainly for the outstanding fishing for ørreten. And with time they got to old to drive themselfs so in 1996 i started to take my friends along and they simpley loved it so we went going again and again but we never took it to go further north but now its time to visit Lofoten and maby Nordkapp. I just love driving the old roads where they have kept them drivable so when i see a newer tunnel i always try to sneak on to the old roads. Måbødalen was one of the scariest places to drive before them tunnels were built. That road closed after a horrific buss accident though but i try to find as many oldies i can because the nature is simpley stunning. Tunnels are great but i rather go over the mountains to see the beauty. So many miss out the good things and dont even know you can take them old roads. And yes i can probably swear many natives down pretty good aswell with some very, very explicit banning 😜 but i usually take it out on fishes that i miss or else i probably would get hunted down big time 😂😂 Have a super 2024 and do more trips because its lovley to follow your journeys Runa. And as im writing i just have to ask you why you quit archery because you were damn good at it? Greetings from Sweden 🤗

Yup, I just didn't bring a mount for it 😊 I've been using the Beeline Moto navigation device most of the time, but it doesn't work so well on the TET; that's why I'm using my phone for it.
Hello. And until now I thought that such behavior as looking for a free seat on a bus or train away from another passenger and not starting a conversation only happens in Poland. It turns out that this is also the case in Norway, which proves that we, as humans, are not a herd society. I noticed that in Poland, when I take an elevator and someone joins me on the next floor, they don't say "good morning" and everyone usually looks at the floor in silence. I'm not one of those people. I easily and willingly establish contact with other people. I run my own website on TH-cam, where I invite you. I am a fan of your travels and videos related to them. I am 75 years old, but if you ever want to visit Poland, I invite you. Regards
