Motorcycle PARADISE! | Solo motorcycle camping trip along the coast of Norway [S5-E11]

- June 18th: Let's continue going north along the coastal road! In this episode I leave the island Vega and head back to the shorte. I continue traveling north from Tjøtta, along the coastal road (county road 17/FV17). The scenery is spectacular all the way and I am blessed with another day in sunny weather. I end my day in Brattland, where I spent the night at my aunt and uncles cabin.
this was a GREAT day on the bike!

I have never seen a place on this Earth with more natural beauty. I've seen Norway on maps and globes with little detail, so I had no idea there was so much water and mountains everywhere (and so little commercialization - besides Oslo, I'd imagine). It's just impossibly stunning.

Tes vidéos m'ont convaincu de raccourcir les étapes et flâner le long des côtes et dans les montagnes pour atteindre tranquillement le Nordkapp.

For myself, someone who has no family or childhood memories in Norway, I have to say that, without a doubt, Lofoten is my absolute favorite part of Norway. Hands down, nowhere else in the (beautiful) country even comes remotely close............

It is so true what you said about the Atlantic Road, it looks great in photo's but so underwhelming to ride. It's over 10 years since the last time I rode a bike in Norway but next year I'll 100% be back and seeing as I'll be retired then I'll have no time limit.

About 13 years ago, before I started riding motorcycles, I rented a car in Bergen and car-camped through Norway for 4 weeks and truly fell in love with the country. Highlights for me were hiking to the top of Galdhøpiggen, the landscapes of Rondane national park, camping next to a serene lake on Vega, the rugged peaks of the Lofoten, and of course the many Fjords and countless ferry crossings. I also rented a cabin in Brattland and took a picture exactly where you were standing @ 15:04 ...I agree that it's one of the most beautiful spots in the country. So nice to see this area again in your video. I only made it as far north as Andenes before turning back, but I swore to return one day, and this time it'll be on 2 wheels! Looking forward to seeing where the rest of your journey takes you...

Being a motorcycle rider from Kansas, USA, I'm totally blown away from the majestic scenes you see every minute in Norway. Being from the plains, it just doesn't seem possible.

Talking of the Severn Sisters, which I have passed 7 times I believe, once passing Torghatten, at night, the moon was out, I took a photograph of it, and did a large WATERCOLOR, Painting. The Priests Hat. Aptly named. Great Video. I was there in the early '70s, to mid-80s. Always out on the deck on the Hurtigruten, talking to local travelers. 3 times, upon invitation to go and stay, I did get off, and several days later I would join another ship and carry on to Honnings Fjiord, A ticket was valid for a year, going one way then. a long way from New Zealand

I sort of know how you must feel touring this area. I have a family house in Argyll Scotland that I spent most of my childhood holidays in. I think that my soul lives there all year long because I only really feel “complete” when I am up there. The beauty is utterly mesmerising similar to Norway but on a smaller scale.

About 50 years ago, about the time my son was born, I changed from deep sea ships to smaller coasters with a Danish company, so my wife and baby son could sail with me, I vaguely remember we sailed in and out of a lot of these beautiful Scandinavian fjords, thanks for showing me them again, I had forgotten how lucky we were, the winters were difficult but the summers were glorious.😊😊😊😊😊😊

You are absolutely correct about the weather. This looks like a different country I just spent 2 weeks in. It was grey, wet and gloomy but I must admit it was still awesome and I had so much fun riding, yes even in the rain cos the road surface was like a race track. Will definitely return many times.

Ahhhh, that was pure advertisement for your beautiful country! In 2018 I rode the Atlantic coast up to Trondheim, then it got too cold and I went over to Sweden back south. After this video I definitely will visit this area you showed us today! Thank you for this inspiration!

Funny, again, but about 13 minutes in to the video you had a stop. Well, in 1997 on my first trip and with a smoking hot fresh license in my pocket, I had a stop there to fry some sausages on my Trangia. I was on my way to Bodø and Lofoten. I can't really get over that the 1 hour with rain on your trip (so far) was in my area😊
Hi Runa, I had seen your Videos in Jun. At the 06. July I started with my motorbike and tent to Norway. The first 4 days I had really good weather. But since the 10 July I had a shower on my motorbike every day. I drove from Kristiansand to Stavanger, Bergen, Vöhringvossen, Geiranger Fjord, Atlanticstreet, Trondheim, Lofoten was very terrible weather, Narvik. My chain was going longer and longer and so I had the plan to go back. Too bad I would have liked to the north Cape, but the weather was so bad. In your Videos the weather is only good, do you only ride when the sun is shining? You lured me to Norway. This was my first visit in Norway, yes a wonderful country, but the weather was sup-par.
I rode then to Oslo, Sweden, Denmark, Germany again. I am looking forward to your Videos in July when the weather got worse. . Best regards, Udo
