- I bought this miter saw from Japan recycle shop. It is 100V power tool from Japan. I want to use this miter saw in my farm for irrigation installation. It is easy to use this tool with battery instead of electric source. I decided to convert this tool from cord to cordless by replacing the motor structure from AC to DC power by 18V battery. You can see the process detail in the video.
DC motor information
- motor diameter 60mm
- front and rear double ball bearings-
- built-in cooling fan blades
-12-pole motor rotor
- carbon brush is High current and high copper content compensation type.
12V voltage, no-load current 4A, no-load speed 9200 rpm.
18V voltage, no-load current 4.5A, no-load speed 14,000 rpm.
24V voltage, no-load current 5.3A, no-load speed 19,000 rpm.
The motor weighs 760 grams.
I hope you find this video useful and enjoy it!
Furthermore, I am happy to receive feedback, suggestions to improve myself.
!!! I'm sorry for the mistake if I did in this video !!!
Thank you very much for choosing to watch my video!
Have a nice day
This is one of the few beautiful conversions I have seen, That is because of the aesthetics, the battery is correct established and no metal plates to hold the batteri, which a lot of these conversions have. For me it is not just about converting things from cord to cordless, but also the way it looks afterwards. Conversions in itself is always cool, since i come from a country, where this would cost 5 times more, than going out purchasing new goods. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for sharing, I'm so glad you like this one.
It is an elegant conversion, isn't it.
Beautiful and portable miniature chop saw. This is a fantastic conversion!

Very nice restoration! Thank you for all your work you put not only in restoration and modification but also in video editing etc.. One Question: What type is that little hand held screwdriver you are using? Seems like a really powerfull model. Thanks in advance.
3:25 THAT'S ONE CHUNKY MOTOR I'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE

Anyways, when welding with your battery welder, which settings do you use then? I have started welding batteries and I use 02mS preheat, 05mS gap and 10ms Weld, and 01th "Numb". Getting pretty decent welds, but what do you use on your welder?
👍💯
🇾🇪Indonesia nyimak......
Wow Terimakasih!
Looks like it should be on “dangerous grinder attachments” plenty of stuff similar on there
Yes, the same, but different.
What brand screw bits do you use? I'm having a difficult time finding quality, long, low-profile drivers bits.
Great work sir hat's off 👏
Sir you used glue which brand available online please tell sir.
thank you so much
You're welcome, I'm glad you like it. It is metal AB glue.
Great job! I don't know if it will run cooler with two fans, maybe if you not had installed the old fan the fan inside the engine could get more fresh air, what do you think? Nice vídeo by the way, thanks for sharing
The old fan is positioned well to follow air out from inside. It okay not to install old fan, but it needs to make some holes on the new fan position.
@@gear_show yeah, I thought will run cooler without old fan, but you are right, it will need news roles next to engine fan. For a short period of work it will not be a problem. Cheers from Brazil
you adding back on the fan will make the motor overheat because both fans will be fighting for air flow
Okay, I'll see it again, thank you for feedback!
Esse motor "caiu como uma luva"
Sim, é, obrigado!
Hello man, did you made cord to cordless Makita blower? thanks and good work. Greetings from Spain.
Hello 👋 I never did it. Thank you!
😃
😃
Be easy to add a speed control to now too.
WHAT A+B soldering solution do you use??thank you
It is metal A+B glue.
That O-ring motor mount solution... worst ever... you snag on something like a nail when sawing and motor will turn inside casing, ripping cables and everything.
Would suggest mounting L brackets (with threads on one of the holes) on the intended mounting hole on motor, and then drill a countersunk hole in the plastic. After assembling everything, put countersunk screw into hole so it screws into the L bracket on motor, giving a physical holding force.
Can be combined with the O-ring solution for even more sturdiness.
Okay, thank you so much for sharing!
You can convert bench grinder from 100v or 220v to 20v dc for makita battery
Yes, when the time comes, I will do it. Thank you!
@@gear_show I waiting for that video but i have bench grinder to convert and no idea how to do it
was that used without any protection before? if so, i wonder how many finger this device cut...
Yes, maybe, It is really dangerous to use it without protection guard.
What was that black chemical you applied to fix the screws..?
Looks like metal-infused 2-part epoxy
997 dc motor model?
good job!
:S
Assalomu aleykum
Very odd design for the tool. Looks like they started with an angle grinder and did the minimum possible to adapt it.
The internal motor is similar to an angle grinder motor.
Are these tools people bring to you to be modified? Or do you acquire them yourself to sell on?
Also. Have you ever considered making a power pack that would supply mains rated equipment?
I bought this tool for cutting PVC for irrigation installation in my farm.
CAUTION: Don't do this at home ! Don't do it anywhere !!!
DON'T DO IT !!!
But the saw is quite dangerous without protection
Yes, it is.
I have a request to the American segment of viewers, how do you feel about Russians (I am from Russia myself🇷🇺)) and how do you feel about Ukrainians 🇺🇦, I welcome any comments to my address, thank you in advance for the time spent reading this comment😊
R you Indian?🇮🇳

Doesn't even bother cleaning up the plastic dust before slopping on expoy. Fkng hell. The cringe factor.
Using brushed motor in 2023...
I hope there will be new videos with modifications to kitchen equipment such as the coffee grinder
