Металлическую подошву сложно изготавливать, да и для установки нужен фрезер, которого нет. А толстый стол сильно уменьшит глубину пропила. Фанерная подошва хороша для быстрого изготовления. Как же был удивлён, увидев такое видео! 😊 Так я и сделаю.

Amazing! I love this concept, as I do a lot of work that it fairly small. I find it challenging to use my full sized tools to safely craft things on a small scale. I definitely appreciate that you use quality tools in most of your jigs; poor quality tools would make it a lot harder to achieve this.
