- I take my Gx470, alongside a 4 runner, for a drive through Sheep Creek Truck Trail to Coldwater Canyon. This is a great road to familiarize yourself with your vehicle and off-roading.

My daughter drives an 06 4 runner. 4wd. I drive an 05 Escape Hybrid fwd. I love it but I want a 4 runner or Ford explorer.
I’d say take your time finding a good deal and go for it! I’d pass on an explorer based on the latest platform as they don’t seem very off-road capable. Haha

What’s your overall suspension setup for the GX470, I’m so overwhelmed with the choices of the truck but realistically trails I’ve seen in your video is as probably as intense as I’ll go as the main duty of my truck is for long drives.
Alright, my Gx is one of those Frankenstein budget creatures. So for the front end I installed the struts directly from a 2019 Tacoma Trd sport, no spacers or anything with those. For the rear end I removed the airbag spring system and replaced them with a conventional coil spring from Amazon. I have those springs sitting on spring isolators with spacers from a company called southern style off-road. There are two nitro gas shocks from IronMan 4x4 in the rear. Lastly, I installed the extended rear sway bar links to help correct the angle and flex of the rear axle. I was also pretty overwhelmed with all the choices available for the GX, but so far I’ve been very happy with my strange setup, and as you can see I’m my videos and in videos to come, the capability is there.
@@brandonnstuff5400 very interesting setup, It looks like its doing an awesome job for what its intended for. I’ve had my GX for nearly a month now and been driving it a-lot more than my 03 IS300 that sits at home now. I just might wait for my airbags to go since I’ve narrowed down my suspension choice to either Eibach or Ironman
It does well on the trials. It’s also my daily driver. I have no complaints about on road performance either. My airbags were on their way out so I had to decide quick.

Did you use the stock springs in the front or did you use the springs from the Tacoma?
Brandon! you have a meridian blue GX470 w/bronze TRD pro wheels--- I've been looking all over the internet for this combo as I just picked up a blue one last week. Been dying to see how these could look. Any chance you have an IG or have posted stills of this in any place??
Hey there Dylan, I’m happy to hear you found it! What year did you grab? Unfortunately I don’t have other social media, however there are a couple of photos scattered throughout my other videos. There is an early decent shot of GX from about a year ago in my cleghorn trail video.

Very nice. No I didn’t need spacers. However I did lift my truck at least 3 inches.
Does the GX470 have a two-speed transfer case with neutral? I'm looking for a vehicle to flat tow behind the motorhome
Hello Bill, yes it does have a two speed transfer case with neutral. It’s operated by a manual lever, not an electronic switch or button.
