Requested video, so hope this helps, let me know in comments of any videos you want to see.
Thank you very much.
But, we need folder icon to show full thumbnail in stead of half.
How do I get Windows Security back?
I uninstalled IE from Win 10 and now half of my desktop icons are just blank white paper icons. I have cleared thumbnail cache via disc cleanup and via cmd prompt. I have also tried advanced system settings/performance-check/uncheck thumbnails instead of icons, to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Love your videos!
Hi, thanks for the video. What helped me was removing the file from one drive.
Can you help me? I went though all these steps and i get this error message when i click to open a picture . . . what is wrong? it says " caller specified wait timed out before the operation completed because a host termination is queued" ????? i don's know what this means . . i hope you can help!!! I guess one i couldn't do that you suggested because the other thing i don't know how to run a command as an administrator???
If none of these methods work for you like myself then try and copy all of your images that don't show their corresponding thumbnails and paste all of them into a different drive/memory stick/portable hard drive and then copy and paste them back to the original location. This was the only thing that worked for me, hope it helps!
I had literally tried the same steps over and over again in these videos and this is what worked in the end. Just used an external hard drive, cut and paste them onto it and then plopped them back into my picture folder on my pc and BOOM there's the thumbnails! How strange but thanks for the this!!
Holy crap thanks a lot man! God bless u!
I was doing everything in the video. Other videos I have watched also talked about the same methods as this video. Copying and pasting the pictures from an external drive worked. Thank you for the tip! I'm unsure why it does this though. Hopefully someone has an answer!
holy sh*t this work! Thanks for sharing, I've struggling for month and found the solution now
Thank you! Worked perfectly
PERFECT! clicked on the windows button, typed folder options, then clicked view menu, then unchecked "always show icons, never thumbnails," and all images in my files were restored!
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! I'm working on a D&D campaign that makes things a lot easier to see what I'm uploading for players to see the board/ handouts, etc. Again, thank you
Thank you!!!!! It was the update that finally worked! I've been trying for months to fix this problem and tried everything on all the other video tutorials here on TH-cam and none of them worked. Your first solution was the key!!! Thank you for posting!
Ahhh thank you so much mate! That Cmd, where you shut down explorer etc sorted all issues! Absolute Legend! You have a subscribe from me! Thank you again lad
perfect thank you! My issue was the always show icons check box. unchecked it and solved the issue right away. Really appreciate your videos!
Thank you so much! Days of trying and using other videos. Finally worked!
Thank you!!! I'm so glad I found this video. I watched many videos trying to find out how to fix this problem and I was beating my head against a wall till now.
Thanks a million from a brand-new subscriber. The checking for windows updates and disc cleanup solved the problem instantly.
This was so helpful for me. Clear, concise and correct information. Thank you!
Good one Brian. When I had this problem, I went thru all these measures and still had problems. What affected the thumbnail generation was my media player itself ( I use MPC-media player from K-Lite). When I uninstalled and reinstalled - voila ! Back again ! Just a little head's up to the various things that can cause this problem. Thanx Mate
Glad it helped
Same here, but Dropbox is what's causing the missing thumbnails on my machine. Have to cut every image and paste into new folder to generate the thumbnails then paste it back again. Which is fine for a folder or two, but I have thousands of folders, so that's not a good fix.
mannnn. I tried everything and this is the 10th thing i tried and it worked! I owe you a beer
It worked perfectly. Thank you!
Omgsh. Thank you SOOO MUCH. No other video solved my problem but yours. You’re a saint. Cheers
Thank you. This helped me with my issue!
I clicked on the windows button, typed folder options, then clicked view menu, then unchecked "always show icons, never thumbnails," and all images in my file were magically restored! Many thanks our friends at Britec for their help, and brilliant windows 11 technical expertise!
OMG it’s been MONTHS! Maybe even a year since I’ve had my folder previews & this worked for me instantly. Thank u so much for ur comment 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Really good video Brian as it is long been a problem with my machines changing from thumbnails to icons after an update or just by chance so thanks so much for this fix(s)👍
Ok mate I have run all but the command prompt section with taskkill and I have a lot of thumbnails along the top of the picture collection and also a load of icons below that I have to click on to see the screenshot or picture that is stored there any ideas? Its ok mate my machine was not syncing apparently so have fixed that😀
Great tutorial, Thanks - Q: What did you use to get the system's summary box showing on the top right of your screen?

My problem is that Windows won't let me customise my pictures folders' subfolders- they revert to details list rather than show more useful image thumbnails, even if I tick the option.
hello, i am still have issues with seeing my thumbnails. i have tried all steps. is there any other solutions to try?
The Feature You Are Trying to Use in on a Network Resource That is Unavailable error when I try to install davinci software...I tryed 3 methods start windows install start / restart, windows trouble suit install / uninstall, registry edit nothing working same error.when using windows trouble suit how to use when uninstall program not in list and how use this trouble suit for program installation error...
thxxxxx the second one was so simple i feel so stupid now lmao but tysm
Thanks, buddy.
Did everything you said but still the problem exsists!
Thanks Bro
Could be useful for later thanks!
No problem!
I think there is an issue with Onedrive...because all the files that are already in the cloud have the thumbnail visible.. the ones that show "error status" don't show the thumbnail.
I have been wracking my brain for days trying to get this fixed. I know all about the fixes in Explorer & such, but it never occurred to me to Update my stupid computer. LOL Thank You So much! I'd buy you a coffee (or beer) if I could!
Thank you so much Sir... Your great teacher (Y)
Thanks
thx
Like done, Thanks.
You are my hero!
I have this problem but only with .ts files. Those are video files transferred from a Google Pixel phone. It's driving me up the wall and I would never recommend getting a Google phone for this and other reasons. .mp4 from my Galaxy still displays fine but .ts files just give the generic VLC logo. I've tried everything but can't seem to fix it.
thank you
Having this problem now. Went the same route as others. No can do. Every solution in this wonderful video didn't work for me. I'm simply tired of Windows for which I switched from macOS. Guess how I feel. Wonder if it's not time to go Linux.
thank you!!! :)))
thanks champ ✊
None of these things fixed my problem. I only have some thumbnails and I have two seperate harddrives. I'm unsure if this has anything to do with my issue
thanks friend
tysm
