Also the sparkplug should be 8-10 inches from the exist tip for perfect combustion mixture and best flame length. And lastly, the kit that you should buy which has been in many many movies and high reputation is called “Hot licks exhaust”, I have use it myself too after seeing it in movies and Doritos commercials. Please do a 2023 remake.
start the car up, rev it high and keep your foot on the throttle flat, then hit the button that cuts ignition and sparks the tailpipe, hold the button until the revs drop and then release it before the engine stalls. rinse and repeat, you will get flames. I feel like you need to do this. the internet needs closure.
Exactly this! I've seen a Hot Licks brand installed on Detroit Muscle, it was on a flathead V8 and it worked great. The only thing that could be giving them problems is the ECU after they took out the catalytic converter. Or maybe they need to wire the ignition cutoff to the distributor or ignition control module and not the computer.
I am just thinking what fucking dumb assess "engineered" both kits ? The car will not run when you cut the ignition to the motor, and once the motor stops running there will no longer be exhaust coming out of the tail pipe. or any thing at all, and by some divine intervention the motor would run with out ignition you would soon find your catalectic converter completely fucked up.

My Dad, may he rest in peace, told stories of he and his friends meeting up at the top of a hill outside of town with their Chevys and Ford V8s. They’d get going down the hill, turn off the ignition while leaving the car in gear, roll on for 8 or 10 seconds, then turn the ignition back on...and...BOOM! Dad let it roll a bit too long once and blew his exhaust clean off the car. Now that’s Old School!!!

here's an idea. build the car Mazda should have built but never did. find a Miata with a blown motor, find a wrecked RX-7. Build a rotary Miata. I NEVER understood why Mazda didn't do this.
RXs were top of the line sports cars while MX-5s are an affordable sporty compact. Mazda decided against putting an engine in that was costly to manufacture, and used a simple I4 instead. It makes perfect sense.
Put a propane tank in the boot, run a gas line to the tail pipe and put the igniter right in front of the gas jet. Control the propane with a gas solenoid and use the coil you got with the kit.
Suraj-a-Tron that's the way all the ones I've seen work, I don't like the idea of cutting the ignition so the injectors dump raw fuel in the exhaust. It will play hell with the catalytic convertor, not to mention the emission system and will set the check engine light. Hell, it probably didn't work because of the catalytic convertor, it most likely burnt the raw fuel because of the high heat generated by the convertor, this system never will work.
Solution is to use a 2 way switch, to kill spark on 1 cylinder and direct that cylinder spark to the exhaust. It would knock out one of your cylinders, which creates rich exhaust, while simultaneously flame throwing. The issue would be the switch. Most switches are made for 250v, not 20,000v. There would be some arcing at the switch, and may cause intermittent misfire on that cylinder when driving normal. Perhaps cat would clean some, but definitely not all fuel.

First, in order for the flame thrower to work on those cars, you must first remove the catalytic converter. To achieve the effect of the flame thrower on the exhaust, this must be done. So much for that . 😉

Back in the day, we did this the easy way (60s and 70s). We would take a sparkplug, attach it to the tail pipe. Run a sparkplug wire from the distributor all the way back to the sparkplug. Use a switch that would switch an engine sparkplug off and reroute it to the tailpipe sparkplug. The resulting no spark in the engine would dump the unburnt gasoline down the exhaust to be burned by the sparkplug int he tail pipe which is now sparking since we switched over to that one now. And because our big American cars all had humongous V8s (mine was a 7.7L or 455cui) the loss of one sparkplug was not even noticed. But the flames shooting out the back were impressive! I ran dual exhaust and sparked out both tailpipes! What a fireworks show that made at night...

Cutting the ignition momentarily while streaming fuel vapor into the exhaust is something I used to do when I was 16. It does NOT cause flames to shoot out -- but by pressing on the gas when the key was off for a second while in gear (carbureted engine) I was able to make the most wicked loud backfires when the key was turned on. That's how I got to buy my first glasspack muffler -- to replace to explosive damaged factory muffler on my 72 Subaru. But I did get a wicked sounding combination of exhaust -- 24" long glasspack with a funnel shaped tip that gave it a sound that could almost compete with a WRX. And the foam air cleaner to replace the stock housing gave the intake a fantastic roar at full throttle & actually gave it a couple of hp near redline. I used to enjoy barking second gear by leaving the gas pedal floored and speed shifting into second. I also used to jump it about 75' by crossing a downhill intersection at 45. Good times!

Okay fellas, I will tell you how to shoot flames. First you HAVE to remove your Catalityc converters, cats are use to clean anything bad from being released into the atmosphere. Now that you have remove the cats you have to straight pipe your whole exhaust. That means remove your mufflers and replace them with straight through pipes. After all of this, you install a two step rev limiter and tune your car to run a richer fuel mix. Meaning it will dump move fuel and it will get spit out before it can be ignited. You car needs to be warmed up and pipes hot. There you go. Edit: Removing you cats will give you a CEL (Check engine light) this will prevent you from passing emission. To get around this you can install a O2 sensor bypass.
I am fifty-six years old. The flame thorougher idea has been around even before I was born. My dad told me about kids doing it in the 1940's. I made a system from scratch that worked very well. Turning off the coil and burning the gas sent from the cylinders was never an option. Why would you do that? You can't drag race with your coil off. I used a small auxiliary fuel tank (windshield wiper fluid tank) connected to an electric fuel pump. The pump was hooked up in parallel to a DPDT relay switch that was wired to 'buzz'. In turn, the DPDT relay was connected to a coil. The coil is mounted close to the rear of the vehicle and connected to a spark plug. The plug is than screwed into a proper sized hole in the side of the tail pipe about twelve inches from the end. About six inches up-wind of that is fed in the fuel line with some kind of (restricting) copper fitting. To activate the system I used a momentary push button on my stick shift. A toggle switch on the dash would do just as well. A push of a button or a flip of a switch and FLAME ON ! WARNING ! Never use this around dry foliage and never when someone is standing behind the vehicle.
Catalytic converter will get rid of the unburnt fuel needed to make the flame at the tip of exhaust. Also sparkplugs should be 8-10 inch from tip for best combustion of air mixture.

"boot" comes from something called a "boot box" which was built-in storage on horse-drawn coaches. Americans call it a "trunk" because early cars only had luggage racks on the back, so the "trunk" was a literal trunk strapped on the back of the car which eventually morphed into something more like a traditional boot. That said, a "boot" wasn't always a storage area in a vehicle. The "boot" was originally a side-facing seat sticking out the side of a carriage, often used for servants. Later it migrated to the rear (like a rumble seat), then began to be used for storage instead of for riders. So, those who call it a boot are really only using the most modern interpretation of the thing. And since the terminology for cars evolved around the same time, boot and trunk are relative peers when it comes to referring to that bit at the back of your car where you put things. One is no better or more accurate than the other, so there is no use arguing over it.
MightCarModz, @ the end of the video...You are suppose to break the ceramic section of the spark plug, then throw the pieces of the ceramic section of the spark plug at the window, you should see much better results.
From what I understand, what should work is 1) small, mist spray fuel injector 2) spark plug 3) pressure switch. If you can run a wire off an injector to the small injector (installed toward the end of the exhaust, but a fair distance from the spark), you can have the fuel finely sprayed through with the exhaust gas to the spark, therefore creating a flamethrower of sorts. The pressure switch controls the injector and spark on/off at a certain throttle setting. A separate switch inside the cab disabling the pressure switch can help you avoid blowing flames in front of the cops.
here in Pakistan we just install a motor directly to battery and a bottle filed with petrol just a button is added . and boom you got a flame kit on your corola
@mightycarmods I know this video is now old but the fire drake kits do work and really quite well, I had a customer ask me to fit one (no idea why) to his R32 nissan skyline. I found you have to wire the box directly to the ignition of one or two of the coil packs so the engine will only cut those and run on the remaining cylinders. Once I'd worked that out the size of the flames created were actually ridiculous!! So much so that we had to install chequer plate steel into his rear bumper to stop it from catching fire haha. If you'd be interested to see some pictures of that I can email some across 👍😂. Love all your videos guys!!!
Nope, did it wrong. My mates uncles cousins sister took a star picket and bashed out the cat and then put the spark plug in the dump pipe. Your spark plug was too far back, and you only need a BBQ igniter and click it while on limiter
Have you tried it on the road try getting to speed then turn on the switch so the motion of the wheels will keep the engine turning so the injectors should keep flowing from the momentum of the car will keep it from stalling
its the white ceramic shards that smash widows from a broken spark plugg, crush one with a hammer and throw a rice grain sized piece of white ceramic at a window, its quite satisfying..
For the sparkplug to break the window, u need to smash the sparkplug first and take the ceramic. Then throw the little piece of ceramic against the window. That should work (according to legends, never tried myself)

Cutting the ignition momentarily while streaming fuel vapor into the exhaust is something I used to do when I was 16. It does NOT cause flames to shoot out -- but by pressing on the gas when the key was off for a second while in gear (carbureted engine) I was able to make the most wicked loud backfires when the key was turned on. That's how I got to buy my first glasspack muffler -- to replace to explosive damaged factory muffler on my 72 Subaru. But I did get a wicked sounding combination of exhaust -- 24" long glasspack with a funnel shaped tip that gave it a sound that could almost compete with a WRX. And the foam air cleaner to replace the stock housing gave the intake a fantastic roar at full throttle & actually gave it a couple of hp near redline. I used to enjoy barking second gear by leaving the gas pedal floored and speed shifting into second. I also used to jump it about 75' by crossing a downhill intersection at 45. Good times!

Okay fellas, I will tell you how to shoot flames. First you HAVE to remove your Catalityc converters, cats are use to clean anything bad from being released into the atmosphere. Now that you have remove the cats you have to straight pipe your whole exhaust. That means remove your mufflers and replace them with straight through pipes. After all of this, you install a two step rev limiter and tune your car to run a richer fuel mix. Meaning it will dump move fuel and it will get spit out before it can be ignited. You car needs to be warmed up and pipes hot. There you go.
Edit: Removing you cats will give you a CEL (Check engine light) this will prevent you from passing emission. To get around this you can install a O2 sensor bypass.

I am fifty-six years old. The flame thorougher idea has been around even before I was born. My dad told me about kids doing it in the 1940's. I made a system from scratch that worked very well. Turning off the coil and burning the gas sent from the cylinders was never an option. Why would you do that? You can't drag race with your coil off. I used a small auxiliary fuel tank (windshield wiper fluid tank) connected to an electric fuel pump. The pump was hooked up in parallel to a DPDT relay switch that was wired to 'buzz'. In turn, the DPDT relay was connected to a coil. The coil is mounted close to the rear of the vehicle and connected to a spark plug. The plug is than screwed into a proper sized hole in the side of the tail pipe about twelve inches from the end. About six inches up-wind of that is fed in the fuel line with some kind of (restricting) copper fitting. To activate the system I used a momentary push button on my stick shift. A toggle switch on the dash would do just as well. A push of a button or a flip of a switch and FLAME ON ! WARNING ! Never use this around dry foliage and never when someone is standing behind the vehicle.

Catalytic converter will get rid of the unburnt fuel needed to make the flame at the tip of exhaust. Also sparkplugs should be 8-10 inch from tip for best combustion of air mixture.

"boot" comes from something called a "boot box" which was built-in storage on horse-drawn coaches. Americans call it a "trunk" because early cars only had luggage racks on the back, so the "trunk" was a literal trunk strapped on the back of the car which eventually morphed into something more like a traditional boot. From what I understand, what should work is 1) small, mist spray fuel injector 2) spark plug 3) pressure switch. If you can run a wire off an injector to the small injector (installed toward the end of the exhaust, but a fair distance from the spark), you can have the fuel finely sprayed through with the exhaust gas to the spark, therefore creating a flamethrower of sorts. The pressure switch controls the injector and spark on/off at a certain throttle setting. A separate switch inside the cab disabling the pressure switch can help you avoid blowing flames in front of the cops.

@mightycarmods I know this video is now old but the fire drake kits do work and really quite well, I had a customer ask me to fit one (no idea why) to his R32 nissan skyline. I found you have to wire the box directly to the ignition of one or two of the coil packs so the engine will only cut those and run on the remaining cylinders. Once I'd worked that out the size of the flames created were actually ridiculous!! So much so that we had to install chequer plate steel into his rear bumper to stop it from catching fire haha. If you'd be interested to see some pictures of that I can email some across 👍😂. Love all your videos guys!!!

Have you tried it on the road try getting to speed then turn on the switch so the motion of the wheels will keep the engine turning so the injectors should keep flowing from the momentum of the car will keep it from stalling

its the white ceramic shards that smash widows from a broken spark plugg, crush one with a hammer and throw a rice grain sized piece of white ceramic at a window, its quite satisfying..
For the sparkplug to break the window, u need to smash the sparkplug first and take the ceramic. Then throw the little piece of ceramic against the window. That should work (according to legends, never tried myself)
