YESSSSS!!! THIS is the Gulab Jamun my family both from Fiji and Trinidad know and love!!! My Aaji’s youngest sister gave me the recipe from when she made it back in Fiji and I’m pretty sure it’s almost the same as yours! I totally prefer this to the syrupy gulab Jamun that we refer to as “Rasgulla” Awesome recipe! I need to show your video to my Aaji :)
Thank you, Navin! This is my grandmother's recipe! She made the most delicious gulab jamun! I like the Indian gulab jamun (rasgulla in Fiji) too, but they tend to be so rich and sweet that I can't do more than 1/2. I do prefer this gulab jamun over the other too though!
I'd love to see pictures of your "real" gulab jamuns, Govind. The jamuns I grew up eating were dark and long. Heres a link! st1.thehealthsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/jamun-seeds.jpg
Thank you for posting this. I am excited to try it with my family. I love Fiji style GJ and never knew how to make it till my MINL finally showed me. Yay but I loved your coconut milk and butter ingredients. I am gonna use coconut sugar for the syrup and old school condensed milk for the batter. Also I got the store bought nutmeg cause I thought it would be better and husband will ground the elaji. Excited to do this. 🙏❤
So I will be trying this today cause my honey loves Gulab Jamun!! I must admit I have a bit of fear my love. I normally don’t but I am dealing with the best chef n yes you are the greatest! Wish me luck.❤🙏
@@SBLtasteoffiji 🙏🙏thank you sweetheart ♥️.. my honey likes the syrup on the inside too any pointers ? I was thinking of poking tiny holes with tiny skewer n let the syrup go in or would you say let it soak in it? 🥰🥰💕💕💕🍃🍃🍃
Can I have measurements please how much flour, you used 1 cup or two,.how much sugar you used to.make a syrup I want to make this just the measurements please
Shanti devi, do you have a recipe you’d like to share? Or did this not turn out okay for you? Because if it didn’t turn out okay for you, then it’s YOUR error as hundreds of people have had success with this recipe. Additionally, if this recipe isn’t what you’re looking for, then move on… why sit behind a screen and criticize in such a mean demeanor? If you can’t be kind, get off my page please.

Is it necessary to use coconut condensed milk can it be normal white tin one
You can use regular condensed milk if you aren’t avoiding dairy :)

Looks very yummy
So good! Hope you give it a go!
Thanks for this lovely recipe... can I use gluten free all purpose flour for the dough ?
I personally haven’t tried it with a gluten free mix yet. But I think it should work. I suggest cutting the recipe in half and trying it out first.
My honey’s favorite!!!! 🌷🌷❣️❣️❣️❣️💫💫💫✨✨.. I must make these again! Oh, Fiji is calling me🥰.. love all your recipes, dahling! Thank you! 🙏🙏🌷🌷🌷✨✨

@@SBLtasteoffiji Thanks 🙏 a lot . I am home 7 days a week, so I get to cook a lot of things that I buy💞💕💞
hi sis pls tell me quantity of each item iif i want to cook for i cup flour pls n can i use date juice for shutup pls

Hi! The recipe is linked above. I haven’t used date use for syrup so I’m not able to confirm if it’ll work.
Good day made this Barfi, tastes great but its hard from outside didn't get soft inside. Any reasons 😃
Hi Ron! The gulab jamun is hard inside? It could be because your syrup was slightly harder… it might soften up overnight.
@@SBLtasteoffiji Thank you for your reply I will try making it again 🙂
Please help with quantitys

Hi Asha. I have the recipe on my website. Www.simplyblissfulliving.net
Look at Trinidad recipe. Look at Dina’s recipe. All is very similar to yours I do not see no big difference
Yes they are very similar. I think the spices are the only difference. :)
You are not giving the measurements
The recipe is posted in the description

Gulab jamun from India to fiji.....method of preparation somewhat changed....
Yes, there are so many variations of it now. This would be closer to the sokha gulab jamun prepared in India. Thanks for visiting!
Wrong recipe firstly you have overdone the dough and secondly your sugar syrup is very thick
