I made this yesterday. I fell short of 1/2 cup milk powder and substituted it with 3 tbsp of powdered suji/rava. Though it developed cracks while shaping, it came out flawless when fried because I fried it a few hours later and it was tight. It came out super tasty . And i fried that in oil, there's no compromise in taste. It is actually better than the store bought ones.. Everyone liked it..

I didn't not really believe it would be as easy and tasty as shown, I assumed it like the same videos uploaded on TH-cam how to make gulab jamun and it doesn't turn out the way the chef shows us, but i got confidence a after reading the comments, and trust me you guys this is actually the best and easy way to make perfect gulab jamun at home, I was still scared and made it in half amount of the recipe shown above. Try to use milk powder, not tea whitener.. Everyday is tea whitener, and Nido is milk powder

There should be no cracks on the balls. Also the mawa shouldn’t be too cold.. make them while they are warm.

Gulab Jamun Dough:
(instant mawa)
- 1/4 cup desi ghee
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1.5 cup milk powder
(dough)
- mawa (from last step)
- 4 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- a pinch of cardamom powder
- 1/2 tsp rose water
Syrup:
- 1.5 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 cardamom pods
- a few saffron strands
