@@exoticspices4u Thank u so much
n/p. if there is something you'd like me to work on, let me know
Thanks for sharing your receipe. Can you please teach how to make boondi ladoo (fiji gadi style - how they sell in the markets from the sweet stall) the taste and texture is definitely unique
It's definitely on the list to work on.. as well as the pink barfi you get at the sigatoka sweet stall.
Very nice recipe and yummy
thank you. am just a beginner of all cooks learning my way. Goal is to be able to make whatever my heart desires. and learn all spices of the world
That looks so yummy
Looks delish.
Can nutmeg be excluded?
it can but might change the flavor. remember, you can maybe do a pinch of cinnamon powder instead.
Flavour bang on but the texture kind of sticks to your mouth. As it is it does not "melt" in your mouth. Something needs to change.
1 of 2 option. 1: for dryer , add another 1/4 cup dry milk. 2: but normally you just need to make sure not to stop early. the longer you cook, the dryer it will get so not as much sticky. too much dry milk will make it stuck in your mouth like carmel. so prep in advance for drymilk and sugar coating then cook your Peda and try keep stiring it longer until its more of a doughy substances, then you have to speed work that hot material into the shap you want.. lol why do you think its so costly to buy this? its a lot of work sumed to short version for you guys.
@@exoticspices4u Thank you so much for the tips. I will gladly make another batch using your recipe.
@@benny8802 There is a particular flavor I grew up with. which is one of the best fijian Peda we fijians go crazy over. I feel am almost there so stay tune to it in near future
@@exoticspices4u The flavor is amazing and just like the one made in Ba. I am in Canada and really miss those sweets. Your recipe is really good. I just have to be more diligent in the cooking.
@@benny8802 thank you, that means alot. but in my heart I know there is still an ingredient missing 😉I will find it. reach out if you need help and please dont hesitate to suggest a recipe you would like me to work on.
Thank you, I am going to give it shot, but have two questions: 1. Should the the condensed milk be sweetened or unsweetened? 2. What is the quantity of the mixture of Sugar & milk powder used for dusting at the end? Is it 1/4 cup each or 1/4 cup in total ?
sweetened. 1/3 cup each. but it grabs milk faster then sugar. ☺there is a famous Peda making place in fiji that is unbeatable till now due to its flavour texture and just makes you crave for more. I am very close to that flavor so stay tune for another version of this in near future
Just a question foes it not get hard once dried or may b next day
it should get hard within that same day, if you see if softer you can try adding 1/4 cup more dry milk powder.
Sorry actually I like to have a bit soft kind...just the normal peda wea we add in condensed milk direct to milk powder gets hard in days ...so thot to give this a try assuming it would b remain a soft texture.
Thanks
@@shabinaali2788 yes I just made it as a gift basket for Eid and people actually loved the bit softer texture lol due to i ran out of dry milk lol so worked in my favour😁
So basically 1 cup powder milk should be just good to get soft texture 😀
@@shabinaali2788 hehehe cute... ok miss smarty,, lol tip, longer you cook, dryer it becomes. 🤭so take some out with spoon at some point to see if its not sticky but not too dry, thats when you stop cooking.. BTW, lol how soft are you wanting lol like a ppudding instead lol 🤔ooo not bad idea
Can u pls mention grams of condensed milk can as we get in different sizes in diff countries…..thanks
300 ml is what it is on the can i use. i will write the recipe soon to make it easier. thank you for reaching out
Very slow
