Hey everyone thanks for watching :) Just to clarify, I do plan to introduce some of the original content & graphics back into the game. I just have to figure out what works and what doesn't now that I have defined a more concrete direction for the game
I watched every develop of your game at least 2 times and was sad that I couldn't find more of them. FINALY!!!! This game is a masterpiece and I'm happy to see a new video about its development (:
I am excited!!! I was worried that you mightve dropped the project but I am glad you stepped back and came back with new fresh air. I am super excited where the project leads and will watch your journey with great interest!!
Randomly just typed "devlog" in the search bar and this is what I find 34 minutes after it's uploaded. Welcome back boss, glad to see both you this game are not dead.
HES ALIVE!!!!! Chances are you won’t see this comment Codeer but if you do I’d just like to say I love your content and this is my favourite game dev channels. Thankyou truly for doing what you do!
When I first started watching your videos I was ~ten years old and loved video games. It had never really crossed my mind that I could actually create one until I saw your videos. I don't know, something just clicked, and I started a 3 year journey where I built a computer, learned C++, learned blender, and modded so many video game consoles. You gave me hobbies that occupy my time and give me new and incredible experiences constantly. I cannot believe you're back. You changed my life. Good luck on Formbound, we're all here to support you.
Congrats man, that is quite an accomplishment for your age. I was very overwhelmed by programming when I was young. I first started with java Minecraft mod menus, but that was too much for me at the time.
It's awesome to see development continue on this project. Rescoping and taking a step back can be daunting but is definitely gonna be worth it. I love the direction the games going in!
Your the reason I got into game development, you and Dani, I haven’t got far and haven’t done much in a while since both you and Dani stopped uploading, but maybe with this new video I’ll try to start learning again.
I love the new approach you're taking to this game! Such a smart decision to make a game that YOU want and not succumbing to fanfair. It's such a unique idea and I can't wait for further devlogs! I'm here for whatever direction you take this!
I remember really loving the ideas and concept of this entire game and watching the devlogs intently...Then I forgot about them, until he came back! Just brought back my love for devlogs and indie games.
I saw your videos about your octopus game a few years ago and it really inspired me to start on the path of games. Fast forward a few years and I’m now in my first year of uni studying games. Excited to see how your project progresses :D
I loved the idea of doing the same project, but this time doing it all over again, with new knowledge and a deeper foundation, great idea, congratulations
Looking great! I think the idea of taking previous assets and starting over with a well though out template was a great choice. Can't wait to see what's next!
This concept potentially makes for an awesome gameplay loop, where new parts or weapons can unlock new areas in older levels. Bonus points if players can sequence break. Either way, glad to see that this project is back in business :) Good luck and have fun
I remember since 2yrs ago, every few months I would check to see if there were new devlogs and there hadn't been for a while so I was wondering where the cool codeer guy went but you're back now so that's really cool
Thinking back to it, you were the first devlog series I ever watched. Glad to see you're back and hearing about optimizations and lessons you've learnt is invaluable. Especially the game design document... you can only put them off for so long.
I started watching this dev log series earlier today and finshed it all super quickly, I’m really loving this game like I mean really loving! I’m looking forward to buying this game the second it comes out lol. That being said I do really hope you take your time and don’t overwork yourself. You’ve gotten yourself a new subscriber!
So glad you're back! You're definitely one of the few individuals that got me really inspired when I started learning game dev, so I'm super excited to see another devlog from you. It looks great!
That sounds way better. Upon reflection, it felt like your old videos lacked a set direction for what you wanted the game to be, and the way you're making this now seems so much more organized. I applaud you for that
Hyped to see where this project goes. I loved the orginal design and art when you first uploaded videos on it and always wondered what happened. I think the host idea is really interesting, seems like a really nice progression system and fits in well with the art!
there are a lot of youtube game devs who fall into feature creep and never get end up getting out of it, which it's always sad to see I'm overjoyed that you've managed to catch yourself before the problem became irreversible and I'm looking forward to seeing what this game becomes
One of the most creative, interesting and entertaining devlog series! Welcome back man and Walter Walnut will definitely be bought and played this year! ❤
I swear like a week ago i randomly rembered about these devlogs but i didn't remember the name of the channel so i just went "hm, i wonder how that guy is doing" and now bam, new devlog! Amazing progress btw, really love the parasite idea
Im so glad you’re back. Has it really been 3 years!? Oh jeez… I feel like these last 4 or 5 yes have gone by so fast, like wasn’t it just the start of summer!?
Awesome! Love the update♡ big expectations are very intimidating, but keeping a project small at this time is always good. A game doesn't need to have everything to be good. Even without a goal previously, getting to play around with your tools is good! Good luck on your next goals!
Welcome back man, glad you decided to pick this up again, I just really want games like yours to gain more attention and will definitely buy this once it releases !!
Oh man it's been so long since I've seen you. I remember watching your devlogs a while back and wanted to check up on the progress but I completely forgot what you had titled your old devlogs. Im glad I found you again, I'm super interested in how this game will turn out.
I feel like the rigid-uprightness of the character but with the fluid legs-- was part of the charm. Visually at least. So happy you've returned to this!
Scope creep is a real threat to any project, it was a good thing for you to take a step back. With more vision and purpose, you can now make it justice :)
YES HE'S BACK! I really like the idea of playing as a parasite, however I do hope the robots remain in the main game because I think the mechanics of how the player has to take them down is very unique. I love it when games turn combat into a sort of puzzle like having to shoot legs off of the big robots or climb it in order to pull a battery out.
I am so glad you are back, keep up the good work! I love your new host idea, I hope there will be other possible hosts to possess so it varies the gameloop/playstyle.
Glad you're back! The parasite-host idea is actually very cool, especially if there's the possibility of having different host types (animals, machines, or even other parasites?). Would love to have a wardrobe of hosts lol.
Wooo, he is back. I was thinking about your game yesterday. Talk about when the universe conspires. Great to see you back! This has really great potential! Marketing is important too!
wow, i am just blown away with the fact that we need a Human host otherwise we are a simple lump of alien species. This looks so well balanced and so thoughtful. So i guess the wait was worthwhile afterall.
I always loved these devlogs because of the aesthetic and animation. As a player and viewer i think the decision to have a smaller scope and to design the game loop before starting is important. One of the things you said in the beginning of the video is something I think you should emphasize, which is something along the lines of "I didn't want the procedural animation to be just the gameplay, but the center." If you could tie it into the shooting system and movement even more it would be super cool. I feel like playing around with make a satisfying shooting system that works with procedural animation could be cool. not sure on how you would execute on it
I really hope that “my weird shooter game” is still the title when the game releases. Edit: oh never mind it’s Formbound. I’ll grudgingly admit that’s a better name for it, even if less funny.

"Good ideas spawn new ideas" is actually a pretty sick phrase
Wake up guys. Codeer is back with a banger!
I remember really loving the ideas and concept of this entire game and watching the devlogs intently...Then I forgot about them, until he came back! Just brought back my love for devlogs and indie games.
Codeer is back!!! I’m glad you have a better feel for game development and a more confident plan! I’m so flipping excited to see where it goes
A legend has returned. Now we wait for Mythic Legion, Dani, and Steven to make their comeback.
i miss both mythic and dani mainly i want to see him complete his several year journey of karlson
You legitimately had me worried about you when you disappeared back in 2022, glad to see you alive and well!
The legend is back.
Very cool. Glad your back and I look forward to seeing where Formbound goes.

I’ve moved apartments, started a new job, become horrible ill, and recovered since the last devlog. Glad to see you back!

These half-dutch half-english game dev tasks in Trello are one the most niche yet very relatable things to me. Keep up the work!
It's been so long man, glad you're back. The concept of the game seems much clearer now, I can't wait to see where you take it from here.
