    Was looking for the perfect bed that provides the same experience as sleeping on the floor, and you guys have confirmed that's what the Floyd bed does. Much appreciated!

    Loved the video! I still sleep either on the yoga mat or a simple mattress! No bed required!
    One small feedback : Some places the music felt unnecessary. Your voices are enough and actually very good for us to listen to, so might want to take care of that the next time🙃❤️
    Anyways, a great Soma yoga video of course🌸

      I find the background music helpful, but ya maybe the sound of the music can be reduced.

    Lolll love the way you speak about the dumb screw on the bed, makes no sense. I’ve been on the futon game for a couple years now but maybe I’ll get a frame soon, definitely doesn’t look extremely elegant on the floor.

      I’m pretty sure the bed was designed with the assumption you’re using a traditional bed size in mind. Meaning around 10 inches in thickness. Which would cover that part.
      They’re using a... non traditional bed type so of course it’s not going to work very well mixing both.

      @@henry2941 Exactly. I have a floyd bed myself and use a standard-height mattress and the knob is completely covered by the mattress.

    Great way to keep the spine aligned! I usually sleep on the floor with a Yoga mat, but in the winters it can get a bit cold. I’ve also been experimenting with just stacking blankets in the floor 😅.

    Thanks for making this video. I was trying to find a good bed myself after I got sick sleeping on the floor(winter) a couple of days back! ❤️

    Do you think that that headboard knob is only an issue because you got an unconventional mattress that might be shorter than a standard one?

    • @TechnicallySpiritual
      @TechnicallySpiritual 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes probably. I think maybe a normal height mattress would cover it up (have not tested that). But it’s just silly because the knobs could easily point the other way.

    That headboard piece has to be made wrong from the factory I would contact them to verify whether the piece received was made backwards.

    It's too expensive of a bed to have that kind of design flaw, in my opinion.

    Great review! How sturdy is the bed without a mattress on it? I was also planning on getting a shikifuton, and rolling it up during the day and using the bed frame as an are to sit, but I saw another review saying they couldn't put weight on it without a mattress on it.

    • @BeingandMind
      @BeingandMind  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      we find it pretty sturdy even without the mattress, only think that may be annoying is the slightly raised metal pieces that hold it together, which are in between the wooden pieces

    I hate beds that make noise when you get in and out. Is it pretty sturdy feeling and low on noise getting in and out?

    • @BeingandMind
      @BeingandMind  ปีที่แล้ว

      its pretty sturdy overall. However, as we have been using it for over a year, and also moved to a different place, its started to get a bit more creaky

    looks like your mattress isn't a typical height

    • @BeingandMind
      @BeingandMind  ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, though typical specifically for USA though. In many parts of S.E. Asia for example, mattresses are not so high. We wanted the bed specifically so we could use a thin mattress and still have it feel flat like the floor (only raised off)

    Hi! Would you be able to comment on the headboard? It looks a bit wobbly, but do you think adding some cork padding would help eliminate the wobble?

    • @BeingandMind
      @BeingandMind  ปีที่แล้ว

      honeslty, the headboard was stable once attached, but the way they had the screws for it was not working for us at all. because we use a thin mattress, the giant screws stuck out near our heads, which could be dangerous! So I dont recommend getting the headboard unless you plan to get a thick mattress - which to us beat the whole point of the flat bed

    I’ve been living in Japan around 20 years, sleep in futons for a long time, then i get tired and changed to a mattress bed, now I’m already feeling the need to have a futon again!
    Is it ok for a yogi to sleep apart of the soil?

    • @BeingandMind
      @BeingandMind  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      How wonderful you already know the benefits of sleeping on a traditional Japanese futon mattress. What do you mean by “apart of the soil”?

    • @DudaFujiwara
      @DudaFujiwara 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BeingandMind i mean if we sleep in a bed we sleep in an elevated platform which is not so grounded as a futton is. Is there any orientations related to this in the yogic science?

    • @BeingandMind

      it stays on fine, overall. A little shifting may happen here and there, but i think that is pretty normal.
