My Floyd lasted 6 months before wood pieces started cracking. Also they delete negative reviews from their site. Rip-off.

Someone's probably already suggested this, but you can invest in felt pads if the rug ruins the aesthetic you're going for. Just stick the felt pads underneath each leg. Felt pads are much cheaper than a rug :P
Yeah omg I moved and had to move my purple mattress and my goodness it was heavy 😂 I watched to see if I’d like the Floyd bed frame. I have the purple bed frame but the Floyd looks way too low to the ground and it’s kind of a lot for a bed frame. Thanks for making this video!

The purple mattress is amazing it’s one of my very favorite and I’m extremely happy to have found it I’ve gone through so many mattresses it’s not funny now I’m thinking of the Floyd bed

Yh Zheng it does a little but not bad. The purple mattress is heavy enough to keep it decently stationary but I did end up adding some rubber coasters to the corners under the mattress and that takes care of most of the sliding,

We had purchased an entire bedroom set from West Elm, but due to poor customer service had to cancel. Anyway, we have been researching and found the Floyd platform bed and wow! You're the first video we watch. Question: does the mattress move around at all? Thanks in advance!!! This seems pretty perfect and simple for what we want.
Ya i like it a lot! There are some times where it slides around but for the most part it stays put. I don’t notice it move much at all. If you are at all worried about it you can put some mat traction squares (usually used for rugs) in the corners to help it stay in place.

No not at all! They are holding up great! We have had the bed frames for about 4 years and they have moved with us multiple times.
I have a question about the Floyd bed hope you guys respond considering this video is a few years old!!! Is the mattress you put on it a queen mattress or a full? The Floyd bed is a “full/queen.” I like the amount of space you had between the mattress and where the bed ends so what size mattress did you guys use in this vid?
It’s a queen mattress. A full would leave more room on the sides of the platform but the queen sits in the middle with a couple inches on either side.
If you get the regular purple, it only holds up about 4 years. Haven't been able to get good sleep for a few months now, just bought a new matress to replace it.
Bummer! I’ve had mine about 6 years and it’s still holding up… I’d like to try there new firmer ones but mine still holds up for me! Sorry to hear yours didn’t last! What mattress did you end up going with?

That is correct!
You can add another panel for a king sized bed or remove one to make it a twin.

Yes! They have been through a couple moves to new apartments and have held up very well! We are very happy with the look and build of the bed frame! I agree that it is a big investment but I still stand behind it. At the making of this video we had already had the bed frame for a year or 2 so now, after 4 or more years of sleeping on it, I think it is a good investment!

Yes. You can get any size purple mattress and Floyd bed. In this video both are queen size.

no problems at all! We have had them now for close to 2 years. This video was filmed when we moved the 1st time with the beds and we have moved again since, they hold up super well and we haven’t had any problems with either (we have 2 of the bed frames and purple mattress). There is no cracking or chipping or anything. Really solid materials!
Mine creaked and wood started cracking after 6 months. Too late for refund. Also they delete negative reviews from the web site. I regret buying this bed.
Do you still love the Floyd? I have a purple mattress that is waaay to heavy for my current bed frame and i want something that will last and not bend or warp over time.
Yes! We have had ours for a little over 4 years and still love it!! No working and it holds the purple mattress up no problem!

So what am I supposed to do with the loose end of the strap
I leave the excess strap under my bed. the bed is low enough to the ground no one can see it unless they are looking for it or getting down on hands and knees to look under the bed. You could cut it but it would make a installation more difficult later.
I know you posted this 4 years ago. I was wondering how the bed frame kept up? I’ve just recently seen advertisements for it and wanted to know someone’s long term opinion for it

Does the mattress slides away cz the panels look slippery.
Ya they do, there isn’t anything under it to hold it I’m place. I put a small rubber rug liner (like the ones you put under a rug so it won’t move around) under my mattress and that was all it needed
How far off the floor is the bed? Like for storage
About 6inches. I don't know the exact measurements, you'd have to check the website, but I got some storage organizers from Ikea that I use under the bed. They work great!
Um also group hang? Why wasn't I there lol jk I was probably at work.
How low to the ground is the bed?
It has a 5.5 inch gab to store things underneath the bed. With my mattress it start 17 inches high. I have some ikea drawer organizers that fit great underneath the bed as well as two duffle bags and some misc shoeboxes.
does anyone know for real tho, is having sex in the floyd bed going to break the frame? honest concern that i have before wanted to make the purchase. anyone??
How do you feel about the bed over a year later?
I love it! I’ve had it now for several years and it’s the best sleep I’ve ever had! I have now moved it 3 times and the bed frame is super easy to move and I love it. The mattress once you have it set up is great but moving it is a pain. It is durable though and even after moving it 3 times it still is as comfortable as ever!

Robert Brown it is very robust. On Floyd Detroit’s Instagram they show a video of like 5 grown people jumping on one frame with a mattress on it! I also have one of the heaviest mattresses, and it’s held up very well!

It may be sturdy in terms of weight bearing, but the wood chips and dents VERY easily. So it’s strong but the surface is dainty and delicate. I have the king size and the wood protrudes pretty far in all directions beyond the mattress, and I’ve hit my shins several times at night. You also have to be careful not to put weight on the edges, because then it feels shaky and the board moves.
Not strong, all the wood pieces creaked and 2 of 4 cracked within first 6 months. And we're not huge people. The video of people jumping around is BS!

bed instructions for put together of that bed i have seen. The instructions for the ratchet are not clear .

The straps come loose, they have to be tightened occasionally and as you can see, it's not easy to under there. The bed slats move around a lot. This bed is janky imho.

So the whole thing is held together by ratchet straps?
YEP! we have moved 4 times with them and they hold up well!
The ratchet straps have to be tightened periodically and it's not easy to get under there.
how is having sex on this thing? does it feel like it'll break? serious question

No, its not gonna break. it’s built very well. The boards are light despite their size and contrary to that point they are sturdy.
I have to ask: how does it hold up when folks have sex on it?
