I thank god that Jazz lives on in artists like Kamasi Washington. Thank you NPR for showcasing such amazing artists to audiences who may have never heard of him.❤
@@johnwerner69dudes just wanna be exclusive without knowing how to converse fr. Could have easily pointed you to some of his best works and welcomed you to a great vibe. Truth be told he probably just heard of Kamasi too mf be weird lol
People were shouting instead of clapping. I don’t know if it was because I had taken acid or if the music truly moved me, making every fiber of my being vibrate. One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to in my life. Definitely in the top 3. I felt like those photos where people are completely taken by the music, listening to Louis Armstrong or someone like that. Without a doubt, a living legend.
Kamasi did his thing...but I didn't know that THE DJ BATTLECAT was making an appearance! Being from Southern California, Battlecat is behind some of West Coasts anthems. Respect!
❤Kamasi Washington is the living continuation of everything jazz has breathed into me. He embodies the legacy of the giants who shaped this music, and as a true torchbearer, he carries their light across time. His music, both powerful and delicate, echoes the souls of the past while opening doors to infinity. He is that sacred link between tradition and the future, the spirit of jazz forever reborn. In every note he plays, I find the eternal flame of this music that never dies.❤
Patrice Quinn on The Rhythm Changes brought me to tears of joy. Lawd Have Mercy I’m in Fulton Square (Brooklyn NY) on a sunny day in the park rejoicing. Spirit was all over her. I saw it, felt it and tapped into it. Thank you God 🙌🏾🙌🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
Clicked so fast. This is right on time. Getting this direct input from the cosmos through these extremely talented artists is so inspiring and encouraging and evocative. I’m not in a position to pay for ad blocking. Unfortunately, the ad came on just before I could go super saiyan. So. Maybe I’ll achieve it some other time. Or not. Idk. But that was the closest I’ve been yet.
Patricia sounds like someone put on a vintage vinyl record on a old school record player and the band is just playing along. and I mean that in all the good ways.
Kamasi be channeling Miles...Coltrane...Stitt...Mitchell...Kirk....Mobley...Monk...and the whole pantheon of jazz giants who paved the way for his creative and innovative music!
AWESOME !!!! Thank you NPR …Thank you Kamasi Washington and the very talented musicians that performed.Patrice your voice touched my soul. This was such a treat.
This band is not helping me not think I'm hearing the literal best band ever based on the entirety of the human canon and what I love in music. The definition of greatness
que buen recuerdo que tengo de Kamasi en el Lollapalooza Argentina del 2019, yo y mi amigo lo vimos sin conocerlo y nos dejo alucinados, un genio total¡¡¡
His unique sound and captivating presence highlight the essence of jazz in a fresh way. Thank you, Kamasi, for pushing boundaries and elevating the art form. Respect!
Had the great fortune of watching ~20 year old Kamasi at UCLA in the late 90s. Blew the house down then and continues to do so to this day. World-class talent.

Being in a band with your pops and seeing a generational love for music is a beautiful thing. 😍😍
I wish to play with my son, me on guitar him on piano...one Day hopefully
Kamasi and his music solidifies the thought for me that humanity will always prevail, no matter the circumstances. Thank you Kamasi Washington.
Saw this exact lineup over the summer and was in awe. Few musicians, let alone ensembles, operate on both a high technical and spiritual plane.
Every single performance of Kamasi Washington is like witnessing the creation of music.
Kamasi did his thing...but I didn't know that THE DJ BATTLECAT was making an appearance! Being from Southern California, Battlecat is behind some of West Coasts anthems. Respect!

This collection of artists exudes the power of art.❤️
And my soul is calmed, my spirit lifted. Kamasi and crew they do it...every time.
That drummer wouldn't lose time in a workshop full of broken clocks.
That drummer is one of HipHop s greatest producers. That's battlecat. 😂😊

Brought my son, a high school Jazz kit player, to the tour earlier this year. A show indeed. He's all in now.
