Thanks for the memories. I loved camping on Murphy's Hogback. The sunsets and sunrises are just spectacular!

I did this trail with my 2wd ram 1500 a couple of years ago, was amazing! Looking forward to going again. Greetings from FL, great video!

Thanks for going to the trouble to produce this video and posting it. I was wondering if my 2WD Chevy pickup would make it, and I stopped at 2:19, heck NO! I have some short videos of driving some trails.

    Very cool video.
I did it this past September right after a major monsoon tore up the west end of the trail. Hardscrabble was..... well..... Hard! But what a blast.

I was out in Moab in August and September. I was supposed to do White rim starting on the first day of September. Of course the day I was supposed to start the trail storms were rolling through the night before and day of and there were flash flood warnings.. My campsite was Potato Bottom. After talking with the rangers, I ended up taking their advise and canceling, along with many others. Next time I'm back out there, I wanna give i another shot. Some of those washouts from your video and from other I've seen. look like those spots are even more narrow than what I've seen in other videos and might be too narrow for mt F250. I hit Hurrah Pass the day after the storms, and my tires were hanging over the edge in a couple spots that had me puckering up big time lol. Another spot I went to I seen videos of a washout on the trail that was just a dip in the trail and when I went through it, it was as tall as my truck. Crazy how quickly these storms can change the trails. Seeing your vid has me wanting to back so bad now haha.

Yeah, sounds like we got there right after you and the storm. It was 100 degrees and no sign of a storm (mud, puddles etc) but the Rangers told us a huge storm had just blown through and devastated the trails. Crazy how the heat dried it all up. Man, I can’t imagine going through it with a full size!! Drop a comment when you go back. 👍🏼

Outstanding video! What a mess. I did the WRT twice, first time in '96 in a Mitsubishi Montero, pretty stock except for tires. Murphys' was like you showed it, but Hardscrabble not nearly as bad as you guys had it. Looked a bit more narrow in sections than I remember. Good memories of those trips, but the roads are not in the shape they were back then, before everyone started coming there. Thanks for the ride!

I came across your video of Murphy Hogback and the Hardscrabble section of the White Rim Trail, over all video was pretty good. Our group of off road truck campers were on this trail late Nov. 2021. Several storms had done a lot of damage to the WRT, in your video Murphy's climb was a piece of cake. During our climb it was torn up worst than the Hardscrabble when you went. Also look into the Mineral road history and you'll know why mineral road was in better shape than the WRT. I've been on this trail 6 times over the years and your group happen to pick the time when the trail was at it's worst ever seen!

If Murphy was torn up worse than Hardscrabble that says a lot! That had to really pucker your backside!!

Wow. Best video I've seen of the toughest sections of the white rim trail, and the only one that captures the experience of Murphy's and Hardscrabble. I've done the trail 4 times and am going again at the end of November. The park service said that the trail isn't in great shape due to a recent storm, but I wasn't quite sure what that meant. Now I do. I don't suppose you went down the dead end Taylor canyon road at the Labyrinth sites? We're scheduled to stay at Taylor night 4. Thanks for the video.

Park officials advised us Taylor was washed out the day before our trip. We had the feeling they didn’t know how bad it was out there.

Is the video driving the WRT clockwise or counter clockwise? Also can you tell me what time stamp hardscrabble starts and what time stamp the hog back starts? I’m driving it next week so I am watching your video for trail recon. Thanks.

Just got back from running this trail in a single day. I wish I had seen this prior to leaving. You did a great job of capturing the difficulty of these sections. The trail is still in similar shape. However, when we ran it, there was ice and snow on the hardscrabble descent, which definitely ratcheted up the pucker factor.

That’s crazy. We ran across a crew that was doing trail repair/grooming, I don’t recall where (it was a long trip!) and thought they would have made better progress. Glad you liked the video and yes, would not have enjoyed having snow to deal with on top of everything else!
