We did Chicken Corners as a “Get your feet wet” trail our firs trip to Moab about 13 yrs ago. It is easy and very scenic as you stated but well worth it for anyone no matter how much offroading experience you have..
God I can't wait to go to moab. This is one of the trails I wanna go on. Me and a buddy head out there on June 17th through the 24th of 2022 can't wait for that trip
If your into Night rides, and looking at the stars on a clear night. It’s one of the best trails to go on at night with good lights on your rig, and great place to view the stars.
At 17:45 in the video- look to the north and look up. You will barely see at the top of the cliff the main lookout point from Dead Horse Point state park. The road out to Hurrah pass used to be much more difficult, from about Hunter Canyon on to the south it was a Jeep road. It has been much widened and smoothed out in recent years and a lot of public campgrounds have been built out there.
We went for the first time in April. We did Chicken Corners on the first day, Then Fins n’ Things and Hell’s Revenge the next day. Doing them in this order was a fantastic way to “warm up” to the challenge of Hell’s. You folks do great drone work. The footage is stunning and I can’t wait to get back.
Thanks, Matt. Based on your video, Chicken Corners was my first trail last year in my Gladiator. Fabulous scenery - best of all was your superb drone photography. I'll be going back again this year (2024) and try to duplicate some of your work.
That was the only trail I got to do in July 23 due to a bad fronk axle, 2wd in and out and then limp back to Tennessee. I'm going back for a couple weeks in the area next yr.
Incredible job on the camera work! Thanks for the trip down memory lane, with overheads thrown in. Your video was really a trip and I really appreciate it. Kudos, kudos, kudos....... edit: Oh, nearly forgot! You can turn on "you tube two lanes transcend" and play it while you're watching this video with it's sound off. These two are symbiotic!!! egads! The video gets real interesting around 2:08 - I've never seen Moab so green......awesome!
Absolutely gorgeous!! I so wish I could have gone with you guys. This is definitely the kind of trails I want to do, just beautiful scenery and nothing difficult to traverse. Your drone footage was the best stuff to watch and gives you such a great view you wouldn't otherwise get.
I see right now that when I get to go to Utah, I will need to plan for being there a Month or more. I'm the type that needs to see (What's On the Other Side of), (What's Up There) and (Where Does This Go). After seeing you guys driving through all these rock formations, I know I would want to stop at every couple 100 yards, just to see what's behind that rock pedestal and can I climb up to a cliff cave. Here in Louisiana I walk for miles in the Forest and Swamps because I always see something ahead that I would like to see up close.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures I hear ya. I recently retired at the end of 2020. So now I'm just absorbing all the content of the places I would like to see.
You two do such a nice job with these videos. They're exciting and very easy to watch. You both seem like very down-to-earth folks. I wish we could have met you at Big Iron this year but life got in our way and we couldn't make it...this year. Will try again next year. Love the videos and THANK YOU for bringing us along in your travel adventures!
amazing video! Sad my wife and I didn't get to try this while we were just there. Our stay got cut short because of the extreme heat while boondocking back in early June.
BEAUTIFUL FOOTAGE of your awesome trip! I am so jealous! Will have to settle living vicariously through y'all and maybe taking a jeep tour one of these days!
Very nice BUT did you walk around the Chicken Corner? I finally got up the never this past April. It wasn't that bad- just don't look down..though I heard the fall won't kill you. It's that very sudden stop at the end.
Great job! The drone video came out great , I wonder if that is DJI drone ? Nice view at the beginning. I hope i can find it , planning on April or May 2024. thank you . Great adventure.
Alot of people dont know because they never leave there vehicles to look around but there are tons and tons of fossils in that area. They are dated to 200 million years old.
We where up there a week before you posted this in our 04 Grand Cherokee with 32;s but took the turn right instead of chicken corners. I love having other places to see every time we go back.. What drone are you using? Next time we'll pack some camping gear. Thanks for posting this one.
Hi! Love your videos. Headed back to Moab in the next few weeks and I was just curious where this campsite is located. Is it off of chicken corners? I read that there are designated camping spots at waypoints 6, 7 and 11 I believe. Thanks in advance!
Great hearing Kara talk and describe things. That makes your videos better, both of you telling what is going on. Matt, how much fly time do you get from one battery? I have the same drone and just haven't seemed to figure out how much time I can get from a battery. 'Til next time, Travel Safe.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Thanks for the reply. Are you using Sport Mode , T-Mode or P-Mode? I tend to use P-Mode to "avoid" obstacles (didn't work so well when I flew backwards into some aspen trees.) LOL
I had read that the reason for the name was that just further along where you can no longer drive, but the trail is still walkable with a sheer cliff, that back in the old days you were a "chicken" if you dismounted your horse. I also have seen firsthand a picture of old timers posing on top of a flat 4 ft wide arch walkway (Muscle man arch) off the White Rim trail with the Colorado river below, all mounted on horse back posing for a picture, back when pictures were first invented and took a long time to take. So I believe they trusted their horses with their lives, or were called a chicken. See muscle man arch - th-cam.com/video/lMIso7nLieE/w-d-xo.html
Great video. So, the trail doesn't look that tough. I've got a Tacoma with a 2inch lift and was wondering if you think this'll be a good trail for a beginner and someone that doesn't want too difficult a trail to go on?
Simply an amazing video! But a question. Is that trail outside of the NP? Since you’re flying the drone I’d assume so. Headed out there in a couple of weeks and really want to bring mine to capture some scenery so was curious.
Beautiful work guys. Taking Beef Taco (@grablifecolorado) back to Moab this weekend and this on the list. 20+ years of running trails in Moab, never ran this. Gonna fix that.
Oh my. Haven’t seen any of theses videos before you got the jeeps. Awesome to see where you started and where you are now!

My family drove Shafer Trail in Canyonlands a few weeks ago. I need to add Chicken Corners Trail to our bucket list for the next time we visit!
If your into Night rides, and looking at the stars on a clear night. It’s one of the best trails to go on at night with good lights on your rig, and great place to view the stars.

Very nice compilation of all of your travels. Awesome!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great Video. Love those trails!
Perfect place.
Yet another great video. Thanks for sharing your adventure to chicken corners, I look forward to taking time to run this trail.

Great video we were there in May, drove all the way from MS. Camped on the back side of catacomb rock. The kids loved the caves.
Rode Dual Sport Motorcycles back in March 2015...once beyond the overlook on Kane Creek Road, it was a pretty decent challenge...

It was different hearing cara’s voice but in a good way. The way you two work together reminds me of the wife and me. Hope your having a blast

What a beautiful trail! Definitely going on my to-do list. Also, that high-lift jack at 8:05 has to have done a number to the side of that truck! 😯

Good excuse to go back!!
Looks like they fixed the road at the chicken part, last year the tire marks where at least a foot and a half deep.
I would watch out for Rattlesnakes inside Catacomb Rock. You never know with all those nooks and crannies.
I looked all over for rattlesnakes and couldn't find one.
Eek!

Midland GMRS
Have you been on Elephant Hill Trail? It ranks as my most scenic trail in the Moab area but I haven’t been on Chicken Corners.
YES!!!! I would probably rank that as a 2. But close between this one.
We love Elephant Hill!! It’s a lot more technical than Chicken Corners and just completely different.

How far is that area from Moab? We are unable to camp and wondered if it could be a day trip from our base in Moab.
We did it in a day trip. It's not far at all.
Still willing to buy that goal zero 150
Shoot me a message on Facebook or Instagram and we can make it happen.
Dumb question from a midwesterner… can you just pull off and setup camp anywhere along those trails?
Another question. Do you still use your Campfire Defender or have you switched to a propane fire pit?
We still use and love the pop up pit. We don’t have a propane fire pit yet. They use a lot of propane and I don’t want to carry around a 20lb tank.
What are the ground clearances of your vehicles?
I haven’t measured it.
Where is that campsite? Haven’t found many shady sites up above.
All of our waypoints and tracks are available to our patreon subscribers. Thanks!

Why would you drag your last years fad, Top Heavy Tent out on a day trip? Just silly is it welded to your roof rack?
Because we were sleeping in it the entire week we were there. It's called a ROOF TOP tent for a reason.
