Lovely work, glad that there was so little damage to the copper winding. That would have been a pain if you had to remove and rewind all that copper wire.

I do Marine repair and restore muscle cars that is a very nice job! I love taking old rusty tools apart and restoring them and using them again, Saved going to the land fill. Too many people just toss things and never recycle. Love the color too

there is an error in the video. at 4:34 quill is in the normal position, set screw is in groove of quill . 4:50 rotated and set screw not in the quill's groove

Take 5 bucks and get u some wood and build u a workbench.. Get your work up off of the ground.. Nice job...

You don't want to paint machined surfaces. Top of the table, and the top of the base are meant to be for mounting the work, and need to be flat. Also, the table and pillar mounting and mating surfaces should have no paint. Anything that's supposed to be flat or square within a few thousandths should be a bare machined surface.

oh yes thank you for the question. The moving shaft part is not painted it needs grease to keep it smooth when moving the shaft ..
