- In this video you will see the restoration of a very old electric motor, from what I could find out it is from the year 1930 approximately, below I will leave you a little history about the company that manufactured this emblematic motor.
EMF Dordt is the name by which Willem Smit & Co.'s Electromotorenfabriek Dordrecht became known. This company existed from 1910 to 1977 in Dordrecht, in the Dutch province of South Holland, and the company manufactured electric motors.
History
EMF Dordt originated from the Smit Slikkerveer company and was founded by Willem Benjamin Smit. As the demand for electric motors increased, Smit Slikkerveer began to focus on large, specialty motors and generators. Series production of the most common engines would have to take place in a separate factory and a site for this was found in Dordrecht. Therefore, the company used the name: Smit Dordt as its logo. It was agreed that the engines manufactured in Dordrecht should not exceed 15 hp (11 kW). The largest engines would be manufactured at Slikkerveer.
In 1914 the limit was increased to 18 CV and in 1915 to 30 CV. In 1918, however, the demand for engines over 30 hp was also met and now EMF Dordt became a competitor to Smit Slikkerveer. The company name has now been changed to EMF Dordt. The company grew well. The registered capital (NLG 200,000) already doubled after two years (in 1913) and even increased to NLG 1 million in 1918. At that time it employed 160 people, in 1920 to 180. In addition to the factory (three floors) at Korten Parallelweg, the company also owned a factory building in 's-Gravendeelsedijk (including dyers). The 1920s were reasonably prosperous and the company was not even relatively affected by the economic crisis of the 1930s. In 1933, the Vereenigde IJzerfabrieken electric motor construction department became De Vijf in Doetinchem taken. In mid-1932, the NV Electric Machine Company, abbreviated EMO, was founded as a subsidiary, into which the manufacture of household items such as vacuum cleaners was incorporated. After initial success, it was liquidated again in 1940.

*manually* rewinding a stator isn‘t only labor work, it‘s an art! my deepest respect for this, including professionally folding the isolation paper. of course, the filling factor in the slots isn‘t professional anymore, and continuous perfomance will have go down without a resin impregnation. but the simple fact that someone manages to rewind a stator is really impressive.

Rewind is not the easiest thing to do.
Restored more than a few industrial motors. Had a dip tank for degreasing, (#1 cause of motor failure) and an oven for baking the varnish. I let the motor shop do the rewinding....

Quiero atreverme a hacerle una petición, tengo un motor trífasico, qué era de una bomba de agua marca pedrolo, el motor quedó sin la parte de realizar el sistema de agua, es posible que usted pudiera realizar un proyecto de instalación y puesta en marcha para un esmeril? Mi primer pensado era poder hacer un molino de café, pero al no tener tantas herramientas, creo quedarme en el esmeril. Quisiera poder recibir ese conocimiento de instalación de ese motor. @@alejandrom5347 tienes que infórmate de las revoluciones a las que trabaja ese motor los de bombas de agua suelen tener mas fuerza que velocidad y para un esmeril necesitas bastante velocidad

yes, very nice, however, you did not pack those bearings properly, therefore, they will burn up quickly. you need to take back apart and pack the grease properly.

Hermoso !!! Bello !!! Me hizo acordar a mi infancia con un padre industrial maderero. De niño me crié entre motores y aserrín, por unos céntimos, motor quemado, debía limpiarlo y dejarlo libre de toda suciedad. Ya más grande me encargaba de armar las bobinas, renovar el papel prespan (aislante) y dejarlo en condiciones de armarlo. Hice el secundario dentro del área de la madera. Al momento de elegir una carrera universitaria opté por la informática, lo que me alejó de todo ese mundo. A veces siento nostalgia ya sea por sentir el aroma del aserrín o ver un motor eléctrico que no funciona.

As a child I grew up between engines and sawdust, for a few pennies, every burned engine I had to clean it and leave it free of all dirt. When I was older, I was in charge of assembling the coils, renewing the prespan (insulating) paper and leaving it ready to assemble. I did the secondary within the wood area. When choosing a university degree, I opted for computer science, which took me away from all that world. Sometimes I feel nostalgic either for the smell of sawdust or to see an electric motor not working.

Would I be right in guessing its an induction motor, never seen an armature/brushes like that, I thought I had patience. Man your in a different league. Patience of a saint springs to mind.
You are correct however this doesn't have an armature (windings on rotor) or brushes, it has stator instead (outside winding). the part that looks like brushes is a switch that turns off the capacitor (used to kind of kick start the motor) once its up to speed (weights go flying out at set speed, disconnecting from the rings and cutting the circuit).. hope that was the information you was looking for :)

Aquí en Argentina se re bobinan motores tambien. No son grandes lugares tampoco por lo menos los que estan en mi ciudad pero si tienen un intermediario. Algunos reparan electrodomesticos tambien.
@@ezequielaugustodelcastillo6467 el detalle con los motores actuales es que algunos son muy comerciales
Y en ocasiones sale casi al mismo precio uno nuevo que reembobinar.
Normalmente se reembobinan motores un poco antigüos o del cual ya no hay refacciones como para una bomba de agua.
O aquellos que por la calidad del material con el que fabrican las piezas del motor lo permiten (en algunos casos sufren mucho desgaste)
En este caso, el motor es una maravilla, sin duda los fabricaban para poderse conservar, dar mantenimiento.

Только у нас на заводе обмотчица сначала замачивала двиг в лаке, а потом в печи сушила. а это так, ребячество.
@@pahab3 по технологии макают в лак и сушат дважды. Но если для себя можно и просто торцы помазать. Особенно, если двигатель будет использоваться редко
и не долго. Лак это дополнительная защита от влаги и перегрева.

@@Ignat99Ignatov Нет))) он такой и есть, там всего 500 ватт и 50 оборотов в минуту. На шильдике все написано.

Not sure you will receive this, but...
I believe the maker would wheep tears of joy, seeing how his motor was restored.
But, for the stator [or any windings] heat the whole thing up in an oven to ~120° - dip in varnish & leave in for around 20-30sec - take out and place back in oven as the whole thing cools down.
Alternate - place in vacuum flask with varnish - take out and bake in oven at ~120°
You need the varnish to penetrate and hold the wires firmly in place as the motor starting torque is applied to them. Otherwise, as the wires move, they will rub off their own [intrinsic] varnish and short out.
