I am having a bad day, nursing two very loved parents who are 93 and 94. Mum has dementia and Dad has cancer. I have not stopped looking after them on top of cooking housework, phone calls to Hospitals and so on since getting up at 6AM. I have given myself a half hour break and have just watched these beautiful animals enjoying the beach and open sea. Matilda has brought the widest smile to my face and tears of joy. Thank you so much for the love and care you give your dogs. I assume you have to buy XXXXXl size jackets to hide those white feathery wings of yours. God Bless you and everyone else involved with the Asher House.

Matilda is such a wonderful pup. She has no idea she walks differently than the rest of the pack. And Tommy is one of my favorites. Always has to have a toy. ❤️

@@amapola53 she was born that way. I think it's called CH. CEREBRAL HYPERPLASIA. It just effects her balance. She has came a long way. Go back n watch her rescue video they will explain it. There is twin dogs with it called trebble n twitch. They make videos also they have a severe case.
@amapola53 She has a condition called "Cerebellar Hypoplasia". Her brain is under developed (or something along those lines), & it effects her balance. I had a cat with CH, & they can live great lives!

Those few minutes of watching Matilda on the beach brought me more joy than I can even put into words. You, Lee, are an angel on earth rescuing these babies and helping them live their best lives ❤❤😢❤

This entire sanctuary, Lee, the staff, the dogs, the activities, the love and kindness and care is incredible. It's like all the pieces fell from heaven and landed right where they were meant to be.

It is just amazing how ALL the dogs follow Lee! He calls them and they ALL come running to him. He and his people at the rescue/shelter are angels sent by God to care for these dogs.
Ohmygoodness! I think we could all use more Matilda in our lives. She’s like a little bucking bronco. Living her best life. And skipping along to the theme song in her head. She is pure love. ❤

Matilda is so happy with the rest of the pack running on the beach.
I have only my huskies.
I'm 56
And it's been this way for the past 30 years.
It's just me
No family
No support.
I have a hidden disability that I won't sucume too.
My dogs are my life my heart and soul .
I would die for them.
I live not close to any beach.
My precious girl Miyuki was encroaching 13.5 years.
She had never seen the ocean.
My boy Ace came from Bribie Island and the day I picked him up he had been to the beach.
So due to temperature at the time I waited and packed up my pups at 2am to drive 3 hrs away to go to the ocean.
We were walking to the sand just on day break.
It was magical.
She had the most fun I've ever seen.
There was a fish washed up and crabs.
I let her off leash for the first time .
Lucky there were clouds as sun came up but we couldn't stay.
It would get to hot for huskies.
As we were getting in my car a thunderstorm drenched us!!!
Perfect.
It poured all the way home.
My baby girl got to smell the ocean.😌
I took lots of beautiful photos
She went to sleep 2 months later.😥
I think of her every single day.
It's been 3.5 years and I am still calling out to her in my dreams.
We will be together again

In addition to all the mental and emotional benefits of being alone, the salt air, the sound of the waves, and the sunlight reflections on the water are all very calming and healing.
Matilda has so much joy, she was skipping and jumping. I miss the ocean.
I know how you feel Lee, as I love the ocean too. I like to sit on the beach and watch and listen to the sound of the waves etc. It makes me forget my problems and heartaches for a short time. Those dogs are really enjoying themselves especially my precious Matilda what a little fighter she is. ❤❤❤
Also the negative ions being released calms our soul
So great to see Tommy at the beach , haven’t seen him for awhile, maybe in the small bits and pieces in a video. Can’t get over him always carrying his favourite toy in his mouth. If it’s not the red ball it’s a frisby. He and Matilda really are amazing . Happy happy campers. But then again, they all are. Great work with these precious souls .

Tommy is so legendary for carrying stuff around that he has his own product, The Tommy Ball, made by Jolly Ball, for dogs who love to carry stuff around. Comes in two sizes!

Yaaay, the beach! Space, vast sky, fresh air, wet sand under your feet, repetitive sounds from the ocean, walking with the dogs, the dogs are so cute and happy... Matilda has the biggest smile! A moment of communion with mother nature, a meditation and relaxation.
They really enjoy it as much as we humans do, too, likely for many of the same reasons - and the sense of freedom!
