I never had the warm light on my old kindle, but i do not use it on the ipad so I will probably not need it. I think the only thing I'll miss is the self-adjusting light, but this is so worth it!

I was using the paper white and the cheap kindle at best buy and held them up side by side at BestBuy and seriously I couldn't tell the difference. As a consumer I wanted a bigger screen more than anything. I could not tell the difference between the cheap kindle and the paper white. It's bezels made it (cheap kindle) appear smaller but it actually wasent. The text to my eyes looked the same. Im sure the paper white is probably slightly smoother but if you wear glasses like me I couldnt see it! I got to see the expensive kindle in person and I was so unimpressed. If I was going to spend hundreds on it I really want it to be bigger. Yeah it fits nice in the hand but when Im making text 150-200% bigger it's size that matters maybe an 8"would have been more of a selling pont but theres not enough there to justify the price, were getting into tablet $ territory.
I got my paperwhite 10th Gen this week and am delighted with it. I can relate to all that is said in the video. I got the paperwhite not for the waterproofing but for the higher pixals. I read outdoors with no glare issues. At $89 I found it a great value.

The Kindle Paperwhite is my 3rd Kindle e-reader my first was one with a built in Keyboard but back it the Paperwhite I Love it only complaint if you want to call it a complaint is e-books these days have increased in price where a print book might be $24.50 the e-book version is $19.00 so e-books are not loads cheaper the coolest thing to be is picking a book either from the device or the Amazon Kindle Book store and having it delivered in a matter of minutes I also find myself pre ordering books and having them show up on your device the morning on their release date. it's also great all your purchased books after you complete them can be held in the Kindle cloud it's Awesome so go purchase one
I got this kindle in 2020. In 2021 I decided to up grade to Kindle paper white. Not remembering what exactly why. I have had the 11th Generation for a year. Since I purchased it I have had nothing but problems such as; freezing constantly, moving page forward as in way ahead, now the biggest We just changed Wi-Fi and the 11 will not connect. All other devices do. I haven’t set the old one up yet. Not sure yet what I want to do. I thought your review was the best I have heard almost about anything. Thanks

But this isn’t a high resolution screen so don’t expect images to be great. 4. Yes it’s enough. You shouldn’t keep your entire library the device anyway because Kindle sucks at organization. You’re better off organizing your books in Calibre.

@Antariksh Marodia Yes you can transfer other file types to the Kindle. To do so you use the Calibre application on a PC. There is s version for Windows & Mac. Calibre will convert various file types into the MOBI format used by Kindle & transfer them to your Kindle device for viewing. There are quiet a few videos on TH-cam that provide step by step instruction on this process which is super easy! Happy reading 🙂
I'll be sharing my experience with this when it comes tomorrow. I only have the original Nook to compare so... basically it's probably gonna blow it out of the water. The OG Nook didn't have a touchscreen, and the refresh rate was horrendous. I know e-ink displays are slow, but holy crap. XD Anyways, I'll update this when it comes.
Can someone tell me what is the real life battery life of kindle basic???? My kindle battery drain so much fast , if i use kindle with full brightness with airplane mode on , battery brain is about 1% in 1.5 minute. Is it good?

I have had a Kindle 5 since it came out and honestly have never seen a good reason to upgrade. I mostly rent library books so my storage is never full and it still works great. It only runs Kindle v4.1.4 so I've always wondered what the new versions have added and a backlight would be nice but a clip-on light gets the job done just fine

I haven't thought of a clip light before. By the way, just a tip, if you are experiencing your ebooks with missing pages, AZW3 format is the best format for our Kindle.

Will the magnetic cover drain battery faster ? Coz it puts the device on screensaver mode and not completely shut. So wont keeping it constantly on screensaver mode be bad ! Since the cover is magnetic and that's all it does
There is no screensaver mode on this device. When the magnetic lid is closed it puts the device into sleep mode, which reduces the power consumption to a bare minimum, the same as it being put into sleep by pressing the power button
I guess I do like the idea of having buttons and the Oasis obviously looks much cleaner, but it's incredibly expansive. Nitpicky, but I also don't like how the Paperwhite has the Kindle logo in white - looks so cheap. At least on the Kindle it's in black and thus less noticeable.

I think the flickering is the page refresh you can set up in the settings to refresh every few pages and not every time you turn a page. Go into your settings and go to reading options and where it says page refresh just turn it off, hope this helps. 🙂

@@mylesjean kindle in video is excellent, I have one for around 1 year now, the difference between it and paper-white is just number of pixels and memory, 4GB is more than enough and if you will not show pictures like comics I think kindle in video is the best choice, save your money and take device with good advantages

This model doesn't have the audio book and Bluetooth feature. Thats why this model is cheaper than the paper white. The paperwhite and oasis models are the only ones that have the audio book feature.
I just got a kindle and thought the display was broke as very pixelated when navigating but this video shows that that’s just the way it is so thanks. Still don’t like it but least it’s not just mine lol

Yes. I have read on the Oasis. And yes, the experience is better. But as I mentioned in the review, the difference in quality doesn’t justify the steep price difference. The basic Kindle will work perfectly for most people.

Hello bro, I just watch some videos about this issue. I think you should first convert the pdf file to a format that supported by kindle. Some say they use the app "Calibre" to convert their pdf files. By the way, if this works can you update me? I'm planning to get one for myself also. Thank you.

@@mylesjean kindle in video is excellent, I have one for around 1 year now, the difference between it and paper-white is just number of pixels and memory, 4GB is more than enough and if you will not show pictures like comics I think kindle in video is the best choice, save your money and take device with good advantages

Thanks for a crisp review. I don't see an option to set a bluetooth device to my new basic 10th generation. I also don't see the store giving me access to audiobooks. Is there something I'm missing here?
This model doesn't have the audio book and Bluetooth feature. Thats why this model is cheaper than the paper white. The paperwhite and oasis models are the only ones that have the audio book feature.

I got mine this March and it has 8GB storage so I guess not fake...
I just got a kindle and thought the display was broke as very pixelated when navigating but this video shows that that’s just the way it is so thanks. Still don’t like it but least it’s not just mine lol

I know because I have and have had the Basic, Paperwhite, and the Oasis. The feel of reading on the Oasis is completely different! Much, much more enjoyable.
Yes. I have read on the Oasis. And yes, the experience is better. But as I mentioned in the review, the difference in quality doesn’t justify the steep price difference. The basic Kindle will work perfectly for most people.

Hello bro, I just watch some videos about this issue. I think you should first convert the pdf file to a format that supported by kindle. Some say they use the app "Calibre" to convert their pdf files.
