What do you think about the new Kindle Paperwhite? Were you hoping for more upgrades, or do you think the changes are enough? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks bro, I bought a 11th gen a week ago, after 3 days amazon release a new kindle. Thanks for acknowledging that it is not a big upgrade between 11 to 12.
Me too! I bought the 11th gen SE two weeks ago, after the disappointing Prime Day... but I bought 2nd hand, practically like new, and saving 60 euro. That's another thing to consider when you want to buy an eReader ;)
This was hands down the best review/comparison of the kindle generations so far. Concise and straightforward. Thanks. Think I’ll stick with my 11th gen. I prefer the warm to bluer colour slide. The new one doesn’t seem to change much.
I didn’t need to upgrade from an 11 gen, but I am happy (four days in) that I did. The upgrades/ improvements aren’t vast, but they are noticeable - and appreciated. My only disappointment was realizing the location of the power button has stayed the same; so far I haven’t inadvertently restarted it while using it. We’ll see how that holds up.
As a Paperwhite 11th gen owner, I find the speed increase negligible. Yes faster is better when when it comes to page turning, do we really need that tiny speed upgrade? Its just a microsecond of a difference . The speed in the store is more noticeable but I rarely go to the store anyway. I might buy the new Kindle Basic just because of it new matcha color.
I like that the Amazon Kindle has a small screen. It’s easy to carry and hold. Why does the screen size increase with each upgraded model? by the way great video 🤩
I've got one i bought in 2014 that still works as well as it did when I bought it. I did put a new battery in it a few years back. But for reading i use my Oasis 10 Gen, I was hoping they were going to update it but instead they discontinued it. I love my Oasis and won't be getting any of the new ones.
I have an 11th gen and I absolutely hate the soft-touch plastic. You noted that it's a fingerprint magnet. What you didn't mention is that it's nearly impossible to keep clean. I have an Apple Magic Keyboard case for my iPad with a similar material and while it can get a bit messy, it cleans really easily. The high-end 12th gen Kindle has a "metallic" case. I was hoping you would comment on that, but my guess is you got the next level down. I'm upgrading with the hope that it is less of a fingerprint magnet and easier to keep clean. I'll enjoy the extra speed. Not a major reason to upgrade but it works for me.
Very solid review. Much common sense. I've pretty much given up on my two Paperwhites (7th gen and 11th gen), though, since I acquired a Scribe a few months ago. Now that is a game changer as far as I'm concerned. I love the large screen and the faster speed. It really is snappy. However, the note-taking features are of no interest to me. I much prefer to use an iPad or laptop for that.
May I ask what your thoughts are in regards to the new basic kindle as a spare reader? I have the paperwhite 11th gen I bought last year and don’t think I will upgrade to the 12th gen, however I kinda like the idea of having the smaller kindle for work or maybe travel and keeping the paperwhite for home. Or am I being silly?
Definitely not worth the upgrade at this time if you have an 11th gen version. I also have the scribe but it is too big and unweildy for reading so I use it exclusively for work notes. Not impressed with the colorsoft either. The Kobo Libra Color has a stylus and allows you to write directly on the books.
Hey Chloe, if you need it just for reading; I think 12th gen is perfect. If you think you need note taking, a bigger screen (but heavier, may not be comfortable to hold it for multiple hours) that would allow you to read PDFs more comfortably; Scribe would be my choice then. Hope this helps!

Helpful review. Thank you.
You're welcome 🤗
Me watching this review while (almost)happily reading on my 6th Gen Paperwhite.
I am happy with my 6th Gen Paperwhite.
Thanks for the video. One thing to note is that the 10th gen is also waterproof.
You're totally correct. I think I provided incorrect info towards the end of the video. Thanks for pointing it out.
I'm planning on keeping my 10th gen for a bit longer before I swap to a Kobo Libra

I think the oasis still is the most comfortable for reading
I think this was the most honest review of the New 2024 kindles so far great job.
Thank you.
Very good comparison. Thank you.

I have an 11th gen and the 12 gen is quite a bit faster! Worth the upgrade for me
Can this new Kindle paperwhite connect to a PC to upload ebooks?
Yes, same as previous models.
@@howtotechstuff That is awesome! Thank you for your reply.
God I just trade in my 11th paperwhite and waiting to order the 12th...should I get the scribe instead?

@@howtotechstuff Thanks so much! I'll sleep on it
I never had a 10th gen, but I heard it was awful.
Se ve mejor la pantalla del 11th, más blanco el fondo.
