That’s just for x ray. There’s mri, ct, mamo, etc. that will increase your pay 5-10 dollars more depending on where you live.

Ok yes you’re correct but even if you have MRI you still possibly won’t make $45 +.
Not sure if your a tech or you googled what rad techs can also do but MRI, CT, MAMMO ect …
They all come with extra schooling and registry exams if you don’t pass you don’t get paid or can’t work in that modality but in Nursing you only take 1 exam for life and you done with the possibilities of more money with experience. You don’t get that in xray unfortunately 😔

    • @rjsmusicstudio4716

Networked with other techs and they told me they making the same or a little more than nurses in Texas but have multiple modalities or in a high paying modality. Florida just pays trash but nursing pay is paying more in Florida than usual

I'm a dialysis tech. I've done travel and thats where we get paid more. I'm consider going into cardiovascular technologist cath lab. Bro nurses just chill around while every job in healthcare does all the work. I've seen it and experiences it myself. Nurses will always get paid more because they have deep learning in depth of overall health. When you are able to give medication and registerd you gonna get the most money. I feel like its important to go in a field where nurses don't work in so you can get the most money in that department of scope.

Yo FR bro I totally understand what you mean! Nurses always get the notch above every other medical profession. Like for us in X-Ray if it wasn’t for us Dr.s couldn’t diagnose a fracture or a PE probability.
Cardiovascular Tech/ Cath Lab is nice but remember it’s a lot of on-call and it’s an intense specialty. You got this though bro ‼️💯

@@thexrayzoneYes man I hear you!! I seen transporters bust they ass pushing patients around and techs doing all the work while nurses just sin on that desk and the amount of work politics bulshit these people be on its toxic. That's why I want to be working with the doctors in a more secluded are where everyone is putting their fair share working with doctors and not be somebody tool. Traveling cath lab pays!! I seen contracts up to 4,000 definitely wanna travel once I finish lol 😂

How important is having a JRCERT accreditation when it comes to getting a position at a good hospital as opposed to the other certifications if you still pass your ARRT and get other modality registries like CT and MRI?

    • @thexrayzone
      @thexrayzone  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yo!
As long as the school you go to is eligible to take the ARRT than your fine.
No hospital will dig into what happens at the school.
The hospital will only care that you have an ARRT license & a state license that you work in.
Thats it they won’t look into anything else academically wise.
      Hope this helped 🙏🏽

Ok so out of those 3 (X-RAY, CT & MRI) X-Ray is definitely the most rigorous because you have to push the X-ray machine & in OR you must move the C-Arm all over the place and they are heavy.
In CT & MRI patients come to you and you will pull some but nothing crazy compared to X-ray !
      Hope this helps 🙏🏽

Hey Juan, Im not currently a tech, but I was wondering if techs are usually paid hourly or by salary, especially when there are listings for 50+ an hour (Specifically in CT and MRI modalities)? Also, if they are paid hourly, do you know how likely or common it is for those techs to get overtime pay?
If they are paid salary, are they usually working more than 40 hours a week and weekends?
    Thank you!

Is x ray tech the same as radiation tech? From what I understand, x ray requires less than radiation tech, which according to your video, would make sense as to why x ray makes less than nurses right? Rad tech is more like an umbrella term for the imaging specialty itself, so wouldn’t they make close to nurses then?

Ok so X-ray techs seem to have many names thrown out like Radiology Technician & Radiology Technologist…. We are Radiology Technologists (Not Technicians).
Now there is a Radiation Therapy Technologist and that is considered a specialty which they treat cancer patients & they are one of the highest paid specialties in the Radiology Family. They usually get paid over $100K per year and that’s a normal 40 hour work week with weekends off.
      Hope this helped 🙏🏽

If you become a multimodality radiographer, does that mean you decrease your work life balance? Or is it at your discretion? Also, do you get a bump in pay overall or do you get paid depending on which modality you’re working in at that time.

Ok so the best one out of them 4 in my opinion would be Cath Lab Technology because here in the 🇺🇸 they usually get a sign on bonus of $15-20K & they get paid around $35-40hr plus on-call pay.
So they are the most valuable.

I'm curious, when you say rad tech does that include MRI tech and CT tech or are all of these different in pay? And is OT time and a half?

Nope so RAD TECH is slowly a Rad Tech.
Once your a full Rad Tech then you can branch off into CT & MRI but those are to other test/registries you must pass to become certified.
Hope this cleared it up for you 🙏🏽
