Brooke, I think it was destined for me to come across your channel! I graduated high school in 2009 but I ALWAYS aspired to be an ultrasound technician. I went straight into the workforce because I had a son but I'm currently in school right now working on the last of my pre-requisites for the radiography program at my local community college. I LITERALLY had a conversation with my advisor about using radiography as a segue into sonography. To know you are on that exact journey is so motivating!! I am almost done; you're giving me a reason to keep going! thank you!
Yay how exciting! I am so glad you came across my channel too! I just graduated my ultrasound program in October so if you have any questions I can do my best to give answers from my experience 😊 and Goodluck!
I hope it’s OK if I ask for some advice, I’m into both programs, ultrasound and x-ray tech but both programs tell me different things like don’t go that one. It will be too long. It’s not worth it. This one has a better outlook. I just need some advice.
Both are amazing. Honestly I’d go shadow at a hospital near you, (just call and ask they will set it up for you)to see it in person and see which one you find more interesting because they are both great.
@ I didn’t even know you could go shadow thank you for the advice. I deeply appreciate it. I have another question. Is it normal to have the programs pressure you into taking out loans for the program or no? And also, I have a bachelors degree but I didn’t finish paying for my semester my last one, but the program is telling me I need my bachelors but the website says I don’t. Is that normal I apologize if I’m asking a lot of questions.
@morningstarproduction3734 don’t apologize I’m glad to help. My programs didn’t push loans they just recommend you don’t work during the programs because there’s not much time to but I did and I made it work.
@morningstarproduction3734 also id email the program director or meet with an advisor about ur bachelors so you can get the final answer about that ☺️ hope this helps!
@@brooke_pedssono i have 2.yeats experience in zxrya and ultrasound. But not getting ultrasound job in uk for band 5..should i go for xray job than chang it once i move to uk?
I’m torn between the two programs. Was there anything you didn’t like about either programs, pros and cons? Are you still happy with your choice of sonography?
I love both but I am glad I got into sonography as it’s a new challenge everyday that I love. I don’t think I have cons or pros between the programs as they are similar in the fashion of classes/book work and then clinical and lab.
@@brooke_pedssono Thank you! I've just heard so much negativity lately about ultrasound like being super stressful with more responsibilities, being understaffed and taking a lot of calls, ridiculous doctors orders, crazy patients especially in OB settings, and injuries... I've heard being in CT/MRI is similar pay with less overall stress.

Yes I was able to work while in school. I would work weekends
Is it allowed to convert from xray job to ultrasound job
