Nurse is 10x harder for sure the nursing program makes you test every week if you score under a 75 on either test 2 times they will kick you from the course ( Westcoast University)....
Bahaha Nursing is not way harder. If anything, it's easier. The hardest class a nurse will take is pharmacology. I went to Radiology school, and if you made below a 75, you also got kicked out. The reason I say nursing is not harder is because my wife is a ICU nurse, and I got to look at some of her course work and take home practice tests. They were easy, she couldn't believe how I knew answers to most of the questions. The only ones I struggled with were knowing all the drug names and what's the use of all the odd drugs you don't hear too often. I then went on to get my 4 year degree in Cell and Molecular Biology. I then found out later that nurses just have to make it through general chemistry and microbiology. All the easier science courses! Meanwhile, I'm taking Organic chemistry, Molecular Biology, Endocrinology, Immunology, Virology. All the more advanced courses. So, for me to think that my experience of radiology school being harder than my 4 year degree that surpasses what nurses learn. I think that it is valid I can say one is harder. The only thing a nurse can basically do that we can't is give meds. I am a CT tech, so we do start IV's for contrast injections. We also do vitals, or chest compressions during codes. We can tip for rectal contrast studies. We have to do cystograms and all kinds of special cardiac procedures. It's not just pressing buttons like it seems to most nurses and patients. You have to take radiation physics and protection when you are in rad school, which is hard. You have to know anatomy even more so than a nurse. Nurses are bad ass but I wouldn't say their school is harder at all. Plus they make it so easy to be a NP now you can do NP school while being a nurse or not even work as a nurse, but just go straight into being a nurse practitioner or I like to call them a keyboard warrior just ordering all kinds of crap on patients without ever seeing them increasing the nurse and radiology workload.
I just withdrew from a nursing program. The documentation was too much for how little you see the patient. Also, the nursing diagnosis process was very frustrating. We learn the pathos but then have to apply the nursing diagnoses and pharmacology. In 8 weeks, I had to learn 90 different medications (signs and symptoms, patient education, contraindications, etc). It was so much work in so little time.

Wendell Hi 👋 Welcome and if my content helps you please consider subscribing if you haven’t already 🙏🏽 Honestly ALL programs deal with there drama. That’s in any department or program unfortunately 😑
Nurse here we order X-rays if their hand hurts to rule out FX or something. Or we get chewed out and told we did nothing 9 times out of 10 it’s unremarkable tho
What are some reasons for getting denied for multi-state certifications. Your page is smaller but I really appreciate it so much. It’s one of the only ones talking about current Rad Tech info. I’m in nursing and really wanting to switch. Schooling in IL is brutal and the nature of nursing careers is losing its light for me.
Hi Kay Welcome and I’m so glad your here 🙏🏽 I try to stay current & just be as real as possible 🙂 Honestly I’m not sure about multi-state certifications I only have the FL license & I haven’t tried to get any other state. Follow me on Instagram “JReactz863” DM me I’m curious on why you wanna switch from nursing.
Thanks I was thinking about this I wanted to this transition 😊 but your right about rad vs nurses I wish y’all have more flexibility jobs in the hospital I work at there’s no part-time only full time and it’s not remote Idkk if AI will take over radiology ☢️ 😅
Yeah we do way too much for A.I. to ever take over. At our hospital we have PRNs which only work when they are needed which they are always needed because we are always short staffed so that means you can pick and work when you want so it’s basically part time but definitely…NO REMOTE JOBS in our field. At least not that I know of .
I don't know if it's just me, but I noticed a lot of nurses are condescending and disrespectful towards xray techs. Patients don't piss me off even though I came across a handful of rude ones. The ones who always boil my blood are nurses.

Hi 👋 Glad your here hopefully you considered subscribing 🙏🏽 Ok so it seems that way but the opportunities in the long run for Nursing are far far superior than in Radiology. For ex… if you go for RN & continue your education you can reach into becoming a Nurse Practitioner and basically having your own patients making over $100K per year. In Radiology you don’t have that growth, yes you can become CT or MRI certified but you won’t every make $100K unless you travel and that gets hard if you have a family. Nurse practitioner also order exams, so in the long run you could be the person ordering exams instead of doing them….something to think about 🤔
That all depends on who your supervisor is. Can’t really tell until you start working but if you don’t want to be managed work overnight or weekends. No management or if they are they are usually cool. During the week it’s full of leads, supervisors, managers & director.

MRI tech here married to a nurse. Pay is higher than ours because of the weekend shift diff and night shift diff. Xray gets screwed most of the time on this. From here on out I’ll be trying to negotiate this rate because it’s been 1.00 for years. Also the call pay is 2.00 an hour. It’s a fuckin joke.
Hi 👋 Welcome 🙏🏽 Thank you for watching Please remember to SUBSCRIBE, WATCH & LIKE 👍🏽 my videos it helps reach more people who need this content /help 🙏🏽 Unfortunately your absolutely correct ‼️
1 healthcare modality is severely underpayed for equal education and this is Radiologic Technology. Hospitals are notorious for underpaying RT s and not respecting the modality at all as compared to nursing.
I have to agree with you but even though they start at $22-25 hr they do pay evening differential pay & overnight differential, weekend differential so you make well over $22-24 at the end of the day we all have the choice to pick our career and if your doing it for the money you will never be happy.
@@juanmotiva8s959 i love Radiology, but why embark in a career choice with such little potential and lack of clinical respect and regard, especially when one considers the time vested in education 2 years +.
I see your point of view bro. I been in this for over 10 years & I will start school again in 2 weeks for a different side hustle but potential full time career path. Start tuned bro If you haven’t already please consider subscribing 🙏🏽💯💯

Honestly I’m not sure how that works if your school isn’t JCERT but if they do that’s awesome I wish you the best🙏🏽 Ps. If it’s a private school they can say anything but to be sure you can call ARRT yourself & ask questions they are super nice and willing to help. Call do your own research because last thing you want to do is two years of school for nothing. 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 so this update. I called Arrt like you said and they said my school is accredited to take the Arrt. I’m just so confused about this Jrect thing
Yeah your correct but a good school what I mean by that is a Community College or State College will always be 2 years & they only accept the BEST students. Now PRIVATE schools are sometimes 16 months but they accept anyone as long as your willing to get into $50K debt. They are usually JCERT certified but at a price. Plus PRIVATE colleges usually don’t get good clinical rotations.
@@juanmotiva8s959 well I went to a private school and got a really good education and had awesome clinical rotations. Maybe your experience was not as good as mine. I also came out of there with no debt. Also mine was 18 months. I got the exact same education as someone who went for 2 years.
Great to hear not everyone will or has the kind of money you have to pay $50K but if they do well that’s great. I live in FL and I know 100 % that private schools usually never get the best clinical rotations but I’m good I can’t complain I’m RT (R) (CT) with my Bachelors in management trust me I’m not hurting 🙏🏽
@@juanmotiva8s959 well what do you mean when you say best clinical site? Are you referring to the type of site such as ortho, hospital, urgent care? Aren't those some of the sites that xray techs will work any way? You went to a private college for your education? I also live in Florida. At the end of the day you have the choice to go to which ever program you choose and I get that is exactly what your saying in the video. Each one will have their pros and cons but at the end of the day its about making sure you have the eligibility to take the registry at the end of the program. Really good video brother and you got a follow from me.
I went to a 2 year based hospital Radiology program. Only cost $2,500 a year so $5,000 for the entire thing. We were Jrcert accredited. I am R.T.(R)(CT) with Bachelors in Cell and Molecular Biology. May get my Masters in Health Administration or IT Cybersecurity. The massive university hospital I work at offers free education to do this as long as you are a full time employee which I am. It's all online.

Absolutely NOT TRUE! what is true is that only women are allowed to be Mammo Techs. As an ultrasound tech you will have to do vaginal ultrasound but you will ALWAYS have a female present with you when you do those to protect yourself & for patient comfort. Just an FYI
@@TheOne-dw3ys Absolutely man its the best practice because the last thing you need is a patient saying you sexually assaulted them and if you have no other women in the room you have nothing to back you up saying it’s not true.
Mammo tests AND the transvaginal probe test. I believe some states will allow men to do the latter but ONLY with a nurse standing by the patient monitoring you.

You can find any video on nursing but its only a handful of Rad Tech videos. Thank you for the information. Awesome video. Any regrets?
Honestly if i was to do it over I would have chosen RN because of the many opportunities it brings.

Hi Kay
Welcome and I’m so glad your here 🙏🏽
I try to stay current & just be as real as possible 🙂
Honestly I’m not sure about multi-state certifications I only have the FL license & I haven’t tried to get any other state.

Am in this, stuck between radiography and nursing.
Nurses are underpaid here compared to radiographers
Hi 👋
Glad your here hopefully you considered subscribing 🙏🏽
Ok so it seems that way but the opportunities in the long run for Nursing are far far superior than in Radiology.
Nurse practitioner also order exams, so in the long run you could be the person ordering exams instead of doing them….something to think about 🤔
@@juanmotiva8s959 thank you for the response
@@juanmotiva8s959 very nice
Okay this the last question do you feel like you micromanaged? I hate jobs that micro management
That all depends on who your supervisor is.
Can’t really tell until you start working but if you don’t want to be managed work overnight or weekends.
No management or if they are they are usually cool.

MRI tech here married to a nurse. Pay is higher than ours because of the weekend shift diff and night shift diff. Xray gets screwed most of the time on this.
I see your point of view bro.

assalamu alaikum brother beautiful video
Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙂
The program does not have to be two years for it to be JCERT accredited.

Is it true only women are allowed to work in ultrasound ?
I work EVS in the hospital I am definitely interested in becoming a rad tech! I know they have some type of funding for workers here at my hospital. What would be a better option private or community college im 32 years old
Absolutely NOT TRUE!
what is true is that only women are allowed to be Mammo Techs.
As an ultrasound tech you will have to do vaginal ultrasound but you will ALWAYS have a female present with you when you do those to protect yourself & for patient comfort.
Just an FYI
@@juanmotiva8s959 yeah that’s exactly what I heard you will always have a shadow doing Certain imaging
What about radiation assistant?
Those jobs are minimal & I’m my opinion not worth it.
