Yes, the 2018 Woolsey Fire wiped out the Jeep & Ambulance that sit near the Swamp. I was amazed at the evidence you still see of that fire. Trees with the outer bark charred but they still grow. Amazing.
Greetings 😊 Thank you for your question. As I recall, the Ambulance at the entrance was donated after the Woolsey Fire & the other two in the camp were left by the production after the series ended. That sounds correct but I maybe incorrect. www.TheMashFiles.com
When some construction workers found the buried time capsule, they got in contact with Alan Alda and asked if he wanted it. He told them to keep it. I would have gladly accepted that offer....
Thank you for your comment 😊 There is not a drivable road. Most of the hike is a dirt trail that taken care of but the last mile is uneven, rocky & sandy. At least that’s what it is like coming in from the south. From the visitors center. I do not know what the trail, “Crags Road” as they call it, is like coming from the north side. It was a hike. 2.3 miles from the parking lot.
Gonna guess Decatur, IL being that Henry Blake was from Bloomington IL and went to school at U of I (Urbana/Champaign?). Decatur forms the third point of a small triangle with the two other cities.
Very cool
😊
Thank you😊
The fires several years ago destroyed the area but it is still an iconic area with the backdrop. Love it. IT IS a bit of a hike.

Were the vehicles used in the Series ? Or just staged ?

Wow. Lucky person. Assuming they were allowed to keep it.
@@cbusbrian No kidding. I imagine how much that would be worth to a collector of MASH memorabilia...

Decatur where?
On the sign post it’s the last “arrow”.
In the US there is one in IN, IL, MI, GA, AL, & TX.
I cannot determine which one the show is referencing.

@@squonto47 cool, thanks.
So Korea looks like Malibu? Or are you saying Malibu looks like a war zone?
Korea looks like Malibu except they have pine trees.
did they hike in every day, i bet not. why did they not remove the junk. if i had left that i would have been jail.
I’m thinking since 20th Century Fox owned & used the land a lot that they had real roads at the time.
