@@cbusbrian nice!! it's a beautiful model, what you think so far? in 2012 i bought an epi gold top and replaced the pickups for the slash signature! although i lost the pull up split of the original humbuckers, the tone improved so much and i really loved it since then. Have you consider doing this?

@ I got a email from Gibson offerings these guitar I have check everything single one all has minor imperfections or small cracks however the prices are not lower

I make fun of the prices all the time. This show is basically “window shopping” Looking at the unique finishes & appreciating the beauty. Could I get a copy of the email Gibson sent you?

Thank you for your reply. I grabbed my Slash AFD signature, popped off the back panel & I can confirm that it is indeed wired in a 50’s style.

​@@cbusbrianthat might be so, but the one in the video looks modern just like my 2. Had to do a quick re-solder job to change them. Made a nice difference

@@justo316​​⁠So for two of your Slash signature guitars, you had to solder the Orange Drop capacitors from the Volume pot to the Tone pot because the capacitors were only soldered to the Tone pot?

@@cbusbrian no, I had to swap the caps from the tone pot middle lug to the right outer lug, and then from the volume left outer lug to middle. Modern wiring has them going from tone middle to volume outer, 50s is tone outer to volume middle. Oh and of course, had to redo the ground lugs on all pots

@@justo316 Gotcha. My understanding was that modern wiring was the Cap on just the Tone. I see now that I was incorrect. Thank you for the clarification. It appears that the wiring in my AFD is Modern. I will have to correct this. Again, thank you 😊

I can definitely see the resemblance. I like the tan color on the ESP better than the yellow color on the Gibson. The blue & green look better on the Gibson.

Thank you for your reply 😊 I have yet to try a mini HB. I’ve tried a P90 & would be surprised that a mini HB would be brighter. Black Neurals? I do this every week barring any technical issues or vacations/out of town gigs.

@@cbusbrian Oh, black Neurals- small, usually metal, with diamond honeycomb grip, and often a set screw to grip the pot shaft. Can feel heavy and hard to see in the dark if the spot lights are off. 😣

@@cbusbrian IT'S LITERALLY A GUITAR THAT HAS ISSUES! AND YOU PAY MORE FOR IT! There could be stuff hidden under that finish, for some reason that guitar was kicked from production and that's never a good thing.. Gibson has found a way to trick people into paying more for a guitar with factory issues! Rather than cut up guitars Gibson now slaps some different paint on them and calls them mod shop guitars and charges you more for something that couldn't even cut it as a standard production instrument...

@@cbusbrian Not a single one, FOR A REASON! I wouldn't hand Gibson a nickel for anything they build.. Gibson is a shady company that is riding on the coat tails of it's former self.Gibson hasn't actually been Gibson for decades.All Gibson is,is a company so consumed with profits and less worried about building great guitars.The Gibson moto "Throw out another signature or reissue for $6-$50k and don't worry about the standard run stuff" They literally sue everyone over trademark infringement while at the same time they're building their own Chinese knockoffs(Epiphone) and cornering all markets and impeding on the American right to a fair and free market, they force people to purchase their brand and their own knockoffs while not allowing Americans the right to purchase Tokai, Burny,and so on.. Gibson was sued in 2019 for labeling the Epiphone 59 reissue as maple and mahogany but someone was tipped off and sent a $900 dollar Epiphone guitar to a lab where it was proven to be extremely low quality low cost olive wood subspecies and a birch subspecies,in court Gibson did not deny or fight the lab results only stating"In different months like summer we use different woods " as a result Gibson was made to add a disclaimer "Epiphone reserves the right to change specs and materials at any time without any notice" and yet they're still charging $1400 for a guitar that could be mystery wood.. Gibson is a shady profit consumed company ! All of this information is easily found by searching the internet...

@@cgcarreno Honestly, no. They’re both wired in the 50’s style so I don’t think anything else would make a noticeable difference
