- Welcome ladies and gentleman to a interesting challenge we got a upload out and today we ask the question can we do fallout 4 as Pre-war infantry!
The challenge is simple we use armour and our chosen weapon to beat fallout 4 so lets get started and get this show on the road!

I remember doing a military play through of the game. It’s easy to forget but Nate actually has military experience. it’s cool playing the seasoned veteran ripping apart the wasteland to find his son
That’s how I played first play through lol. I played a sniper and it even works well to this day and I play on survival
I reccomend using the mod CROSS_Cybernetics for an exo-soldier playthrough
what gear did you use?
@@abbiebabbles rifleman/sandman/gun-nut and when I get too high level to headshot people with the .50 Cal I farm legendary weapons until I get an explosive harpoon gun on far harbor then put the flechette attachment. The range/damage is insane

Pretty sure Nate was in the Army infantry before the great war so technically we already have lol
He was wearing power armor and the hood in the beginning cutscene, so we know he was an infantry soldier.
Not only did I know the outcome, I knew how it would be played because this is the only "Can I beat as" that I've already done multiple times. Genuinely fun way to play.
I had a different approach when I did the playthrough I used the service rifle and combat armor since prewar infantry would have that gear

Idea play fallout 4 as the mechanics and use a mod to allow you to use more than one robot but you must get all items from scavenging

i tried making a build kinda like this but i only used the laser rifle and military fatigues + military power armour t-45 when i got it. sided with the brotherhood and it was a pretty easy game considering it was a pretty standard build

Ok this is only a lore nitpick, but don’t the “pre-war” soldiers use laser rifles?

@@InsaneFrame in the trailer you can see the military uses laser rifles pretty sure they m1 garand has been out of serfice for well over a century so it's very out of place

@@TeaTime574 The Garand was the standart Issue rifle for the US Army during WW2 and Korea, this is pre- pre- pre- pre- war stuff
Just at the beginning still but I had a thought; I figure wearing a combat armor chest plate and maybe a combat armor helmet could’ve been fitting for this style of character. Could have compared to army bullet chest plates and a helmet. Prewar in the intro it does show Nate wearing these I believe. I liked this run regardless. Thought it was a pretty cool idea.
The whole combat armour set was standard issue for the prewar soldier.
Nate was a medal of honor recipient with his combat service in Alaska, so playing FO4 as a prewar infantry makes more sense than you would at first sound.
you dont even need army fatigues from the mod, you can get them base game, its pretty common
just thought they looked cool and put them in the challenge :)

Awesome run! However when you take the vertibird it shouldn't break the run as the vertibird was made pre-war, lore wise.
Technically so was Power Armour.

This is great! Here is another challenge idea for you. When you leave up your health goes back up to full or a high as it can go with rads, what if you I’d a challenge by not healing and the only source of healing would be the leveling. Just an idea for an interesting run and possibly a challenging one too! Thank you for the amazing content!

So lemme get this straight your character is a military veteran who served in some futuristic war we’ll just say ww3! 2030-50” probably. Your camo is from operation desert storm 1990-91”. You’re using an M1 garand 1936-47” and fighting robots in the future 2276” I have no words.

In order to be a Pre-War Infantry, you should of done this challenge with the correct pre-war fatigues. That camo pattern is from the 2000s and not that accurate. The fact it is a improper camo on a uniform that should be olive drab distracts from the video.
You know, I never actually realized the atom cats hid the other legendary M1, I only got This Machine.

Now the next challenge can you beat Fallout 4 as Rick Deckard from Blade Runner? Rules are simple: Must only wear the detective coat, fedora and must only use Early Retirement from the Noir Penthouse Creation club stuff. Special stats 4 charisma, 5 strength, 3 endurance. Cannot use power armor. Very hard difficulty.

I would have made allowance for a few other on-theme weapons, similar to how Grunt worked in fallout new vegas, at the very least a combat knife, if not frag grenades because that would possibly trivialise things.I think a combat knife start until you can get a combat rifle would be a good way to do this in vanilla.
The legendary effect on the Garand was interesting, I wish base games uniques and random legendaries had effects like that.

I feel like instead of a m1 garand you could have started with a combat rifle because it would have made more sense for the pre war soldiers you saw in the beginning to have that. I'm not sure if they did or not but I remember the soldiers next to the tank having some, they may have also been assault rifles? I'm not sure but you get what I'm trying to say.
yeah they had way better gear than what this dude used. they had combat armor and laser rifles. no idea why he used ww2 gear

To be accurate, you should have also allowed yourself standard hand grenades. All infantry have used those since WWII.
Combat knife and 10mm as side arm probly fair too
But they wore combat armor too, not just power armor in the military. Also the standard military issue was a laser rifle. So spawn in a base model laser rifle, a combat helmet, a set of military fatigues, and the base model combat armor. Maybe you could just restrict yourself to certain equipment. If you look at the intro scene from Fallout 4 you see most wear the combat armor and laser and have no pistol. Some wore T-45 power armor with a minigun like you find early. There is one guy that looks to be wearing a gas mask, a standard military helmet, no armor and is armed with maybe a combat rifle, but it is hard to see. An M1 is WWII and by the War in Alaska the military was completely changed.
I would say start with the 10mm. Do not use ANY pipe weapon. I would stay away from the heavy weapons except maybe a missile launcher. Stick to the sniper/hunting rifle, combat rifle, combat shotgun, and laser rifle as those were likely all standard issue. All the other weapons would be restricted to power armor use or special forces likely. Not sure about the flamer though. So start with the Helmet, fatigues, and 10mm and go find some Gunners.

The M1 grand wasn’t used by the time the bombs drop you will most likely use the tommy gun or the assault rifle maybe power armor it seems that many infantry units have there own power armor specialists
You could've also used a combat knife, as it's based off of the K-Bar I believe

Personally I favor This Machine more because the leg crippling is insanely strong because it allows you to just get them on the ground and you just stand at a slightly deelavated surface to just blast their head
Anybody on here notice how this challenge is historically inaccurate? The United States military adopted the m1 in 1936 and was discarded in 1958. The uniform the character is using is what the us army uses today. If we are talking about fall out 4 logic, then it would make perfect sense. He needs to be using the m4a1, to be historically accurate. fall out 4 takes place in the year 2287 or something, so that means that a pre war weapon to them would be a weapon produced in 2087. which should not have anything to do with weapons that we have right now. that would put that m1 garand atleast 350 years old and the uniform atleast 250 years old.

(Optional because who even uses these) Assault Rifles
Combat Knife
Laser Rifle/Laser Pistol

Can you beat Fallout 4 as the Doom Slayer.
Rules:
Download a mod adding in the Super Shotgun, a creation club weapon called the BFG 9000, and other weapons from the doom universe.
Mod in Doom enemies.
Mod In the Slayers armor.
Side with whoever you find appropriate.
Kill all possible Ghouls because they are the closest enemies to the Zombie.
Can't be The Institute, they'd abuse the f*ck out of argent energy.
Alright. Imma have to be real with you chief. You really didn’t have to go full SweatSwamp for this vid. If you watch the into you fallout 4 you can actually see that Pre-War infantry soldiers. DID in fact have body armor over their fatigues. And even though the M1 Garand is a good gun with a legendary reload sound effect, it’s not like it’s the only gun that shoulders would have. The Standard issue loadout for a U.S. soldier is a Rifle that can switch between semi & full auto, along with a pistol and combat knife for close range engagements. And it’s not like you need a mod to get the military fatigues, just go looking for some Gunners until you get a full set of combat armor.
I personally use the M81 pattern/woodland for the army fatigues.

Pre-war infantry actually had combat armor And with the fatigues and helmets The ones that you were trying to be are the ones that are the national guard

@@InsaneFrame Yeah, I've seen some pretty nasty pictures of it. Still want a Garand though, the busted thumb is worth owning a piece of history! Well, that and you can hold it open by the bolt with your trigger hand while inserting the clip with your off hand.

I don't think the m1 was the right rifle. Prewar infantry is shown in the intro to be carrying the laser rifle.

If you're branching out into mods, may I recommend the CROSS Cybernetic or any CROSS mod? Also another attempt at a 'Can you beat Skyrim/Fallout 4 with only Creation Club Content?'. Yes I know it will be easy, but hardly anyone does videos using that gear!
Funny thing is, the standard issue weapons for the US infantry in fallout included laser rifles, and assault rifles, or in fallout 4 and beyond, combat rifles and laser rifles. What you have is a 1942 US GI loadout according to historical documents, when in reality they would most likely have a personal sidearm that they brought from home. Typically being a m1911 style pistol or a revolver. This was basically allowed up until the Vietnam War. Also taking captured weapons home was a thing as well that more or less ended after Vietnam.

amazing challenge video however if there is a way you could fix the sound on your microphone this may help the quality of your content. the best way i can describe what I'm talking about is it sounds as if you are speaking into a plastic container at the end of some of your sentences or for some words. personally i dont see it as much of an issue but i do know people for some reason hate any lower quality audio in TH-cam videos

New idea: Can you beat FNV while only completing each quest with a single weapon, and never again? (Name pending)
Basically you can only use 1 weapon per quest, and then check that weapon off the list and never use it again. (I.E. using a 9mm for the goodsprings gunfight, clearing primm/ bison steve with a single shotgun, clearing the Mojave outpost ants with a shovel, etc. etc.
I'm pretty sure there's more than enough weapons to complete the game.
Also, if you drop weapons/ armor in Doc Mitchell's house it never despawns. So after every quest you can drop each weapon and by the end of the game you'll have a pile of glorious weapons.

Surely combat armour should be allowed? I often roleplay Nate as a Special Forces pre-War officer (high Charisma) and use combat armour and military fatigues, no VATs or power armour.

Hmm. I'm an actual infantryman in the u.s military. I should do a playthrough like this but use the skills I've learned through the military when it comes to clearing rooms and engaging enemies. I think that would be lowkey interesting.

Watched Garand Thumb use a garand loaded with 30-06 m2 ball against an unrated russian ballistics shield (speculation at a high level 3 armor) and it slapped all over it no problem, that vid made me a believer in the raw power of the garand that day, damn good rifle.
You should do one as a feral ghoul. Like a unarmed one with a ghoul workshop.
You can technically do this in new vegas, no mods.

It'd be an interesting run to have Strong beat Fallout 4. Only use Strong as a companion, no attacking anything, and you can't do anything to make Strong mad.
Almost wish you had the WW2 era arsenal mod. Would have been cool to see you throwing old school grenades and using the old 1911.
I like the video, although not really realistic even to fallout pre-war standards as they where far more advanced then the m1 but I can at least say you did the best with what you had.

M1 *Garand*. As in "Gar-And". There are some who even think it should be "ga-rand". But always the A is important.
I'm having a blast playing the game on Survival Difficulty with Survival mods on Xbox such as The world is Dead, Immersive Gameplay, Ballistic Realism Overhaul 3, No Enemies on Compass, and more.
Basically, if you can see an enemy, they can most likely see you. They will hunt you down for longer and they can enter interiors. Their aiming is so precise it feels like i'm playing PvP. They will also take cover more and even hide waiting for you to walk closer to them. With no armor a 10mm pistol can kill you with one shot. With armor 2-4 shots. But it all depends on caliber, where you're hit, and from what distance. Shotguns at close range is instant death. If you criple legs u can only walk very slowly until you visit a doctor or sleep in a bed or reload previous save. And there is no markers to tell where enemies is located. The game feels like a mix between Fallout 3, DayZ and Stalker.
Looting is scarce, ammo is very expensive, The whole economy is overhauled. With no perks a bottle of water can cost 600 caps. Basically ALL perks becomes MUCH MUCH more important than in vanilla game. If you have good lockpicking skills you can get more loot, meaning more valuable ammo and other stuff you cans ell. I also use other mods such as NPCs travel, a load of interiors mod, and Project Fallout to make the game look more dreary like Fallout 3. Also added the music from fallout 1 and 2. As well as a variety of sound mods such as horrifying ghouls.
All in all, the wasteland becomes horrifying. Random firefights breaks out from time to time. U constantly have to listen for enemies. You never know if someone is aiming at you or following you. You never know what you come across. You'll hear and see gunfighting breaking out, like really intense, and any mistake can kill you. Synth makes me scared, because they can literally teleport right in front of you (even though that does not happen often since its random). Walk into a goul nest during night and thunderstorm is scary as hell. Looting even junk becomes really important to get cash. Settlements makes much more sense because they become a safe heaven.
I can’t wait for Insane Frame to make his magnum opus “Can you beat Fallout 4 without saying ‘Absolutely Hilarious’ or ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’?”

The pre-war infantry in Fallout 4 had armor in form of the combat armor they just weren't wearing it at the vault cuz they were in combat
