This shows that as soon as you start playing around with system, which is a big part of RPGs the game starts to break. Not being able to contact the institute is actually neat cause it's a non scripted consequence. But the minigun glitch shows that actual role playing was not really taken into account during development.
Yeah. its sad that the game was built to be this cinematic experience that can only be played one way. I thought the developers would have thought of someone going the crazy "Kill everything route. There are so many players that would try to do that on their first playthrough.
@@peoplearegood6221 People murdering everyone and everything was a problem in traditional tabletop/pen and paper RPGs before we even had role playing video games. "Murder Hobo" is the famous D&D term for player characters who only want blood. Its a part of the genre for sure.
@@tstststs I never questioned the murder hobos quote? Games like fallout 4 wouldn't work when you kill everyone. It is a storybuilt game. Not the same as previous fallout games. D&D and fallout have only one similarity, they're RPG's everything else about them is different.
You clearly don't realize that you can play through the whole story with only the minutemen. Since Preston is always essential, you always have a way to beat the game. Bethesda did that on purpose for this very reason. So you won't be stuck with him just giving you save a settlement quest. But you will be stuck doing only minutemen quest through the whole story. Also, every faction can get to the institute, they all have someone who can build the teleporter. So the institute is accessible with only the minutemen. My point is, there is no way to ruin the story so you can't progress. There will always be the minutemen option.
Not if the original quest has been glitched. He couldn't actually finish the first quest, and so didn't find that out. It's a good sign that the testers and programmers realized that possibility though!
Even in New Vegas Independent option required Yes Man, who was unkillable until you find the securitron army. And even then, he'd just switch bodies. So, the game *required* an essential character to leave you a way to finish the game.
I find it funny that when you kill him so early, he drops the synth thing, so like you can find out the moment you meet the brotherhood that he is one, makes it quite funny hearing his dialogue after that.
Essential tags are just about the worst thing in Bethesda games. One of the many queues they should take from obsidian, is the complete removal of them in new vegas.
They added them for a reason. It's not like Bethesda doesn't know about them (Morrowind didn't have any that I'm aware of) It's because if you accidentally kill the wrong person 100 hours into the game and make it unbeatable you're going to be an unhappy customer.
Mitchell Horton I know that. What I'm saying is that it's lazy writing, and annoying. You can literally kill every single person in new vegas, and still beat the game. Now to be fair you can't kill yes man, but its because his program transfers to different robots if you destroy his body, which is a really awesome way to do the same thing essential tags do, without getting rid of player agency.
Mitchell Horton Call it what you want, but I find it obnoxiously unimmersive especially coming from some of the best, most immersive games on the market.
The institute raiding the castle was my favorite event in the whole game for me (which is in the Minutemen storyline). I placed all my companions there before the battle started, and there was total chaos.
They're saying that the way he's censored those words aren't going to stop the video getting demonetised. Better off to just not say the word in the first place if you're that worried.
Preston garvys invincible but I so much as smell explosives and my health go by by. which is more essential to the story? me? or the guy that forces me to play Minecraft in fallout
you can usually shoot the power core for the power armor and it should blow up the core and the npc will exit the suit there for making the suit take able
What happens if you join the nuka world raiders making you enemies with preston. Then kill the raiders and all the other factions then try to do the main questline.
If you do Nuka World before any main story quests, side with the raiders, get their perks and then kill them, Preston will not care because you haven’t met him yet. He won’t comment on your Nuka World stuff as long as you kill the raiders. Haven’t tried to meet him with the raiders still alive though.
Jack Frost Well, I have a mod installed that allows me to get ahead quickly. That’s how I was able to find out. Don’t judge. This is just how I like to play, especially with how the perk system is laid out.
@Jack Frost you don't need the MM to do settlement quests, just find them yourself, and the people send you ...all the way across the map to a place that doesn't know that the quest giver exists. The farmers are liars. If you wait, nothing will, ever, show up to do what the farmers say.
You need to do Garvey's quest at the start until you become General of the Minutemen and he becomes available as your companion, then I believe it's possible to kill him. The Brotherhood you can kill at any time, but you will have to side with the Railroad and follow their questline all the way to the end to destroy the Institute, and then only after the Institute is destroyed is it safe to betray the Railroad and get your "No Gods, No Masters" ending.
@juicehead You can still access the institute after killing the railroad members. Theres a terminal to the left of the corser chip scanner simply access it and read the entries after doing so you'll be able to decode the corser chip yourself which is all the railroad is primarily needed for.
People just prefer an already strong faction with power armour rather than building a formidable army from a rag tag group of settler militias. I prefer the Minutemen.
You can't kill the minutemen, but you can actually decypher the courser chip without the railroad. Just head to their base once you have retrieved it and have talked to the supermutant scientist.
This dude obviously didn't take any time to research alternative ways to ends quests, because the ending and institute is still possible from his point. He just didn't do the right quests and wasted his time killing people. There are the quests with Nick which get you closer to the institute, and you can either use the Minutemen or Tinker Tom's terminal to make the teleporter.
CalebNi yeahseemsright by ‘him’ who do you mean I agree with youtube being a little bit greedy but not this guy he’s honestly just a guy trying to play games
Well... I think the experiment wasn't... correct. I mean - the main story starts with rescuing Nick. For that you don't need a faction. Up until you meet Virgil. When you get the quest to hunt down the Courser is the first time you need to have a faction to go to, in which case I am quite sure the minutemen are a viable faction to go through the main story. And I am quite sure about the fact, you don't actually have to do any extra steps, maybe one or two faction quests to be able to build the signal interceptor. At which point the Institute comes in. This is where the interesting part (possibly would) begins. Most likely the Minutemen are flagged as essential at least up until the ending scene. It is only me assuming what would happen. The reason I think this would happen is that, for all the endings you can get (that I am aware of) killing the Minutemen aren't necessary to finish the game. And possibly Bethesda decided to avoid the player killing every faction to be stuck and be unable to finish their game.
"The minutemen are the worst faction"
[ Preston Garvey hated that. ]
Boo hoo Garvey, go save a settlement yourself

You can turn Preston against you by siding with the raiders in nuka world. And if you played until you got into the Institute, you could actually pull this video off lol
Just sayin
@Scott Ewing doesn't matter, they still turn on him
@Scott E I'm pretty sure you can comeback with a group of raiders and kill all the minute men I think it's actually a quest
SharkShampoo getting to the institute wasn’t the point the point was killing them all off at the BEGINNING
@@ryleystrasdine956 I know but it's not even possible to meet them before that, so I assume you have to at least get to that point. But thanks for the all caps to help my feeble brain understand

I'm with you bro. Killing the Railroad is one of my favorite things to do in this game.
I hear you I did the same thing
The censoring in the video is too funny.
Should have been the roblox death sound
TheStealthMasterZ I know right
It was painful and sad is what it was. Pathetic, trigger warnings are everywhere and so is censorship. It's a sad, disgusting attempt to destroy free speech.

Morrowind is still legendary for making EVERY npc killable and being one of the most trully free rpg's
Nah, Fallout:new vegas is still better
I just found out about the backdoor playthrough a few months ago after playing morrowind for close to 2 decades now.
@@n0skillx0verkill61 Fallout new Vegas Is unplayable without mods with todays standards
PeekoPon • no, it’s not. You don’t need any mods. And you can kill whoever you want, and deal with the consequences
@@denonvilliers i dont know chief, i know people can still find it enjoyable, but for the majority of the people the game looks old at the point its kinda hard to tolerate it in your first gameplay.
Or atleast that happened to me with Fallout 3(i know both games are pretty different)
They didn't take into account that someone would go and murder everyone? Why would you account for that?
@@peoplearegood6221 People murdering everyone and everything was a problem in traditional tabletop/pen and paper RPGs before we even had role playing video games. "Murder Hobo" is the famous D&D term for player characters who only want blood. Its a part of the genre for sure.
@@tstststs I never questioned the murder hobos quote? Games like fallout 4 wouldn't work when you kill everyone. It is a storybuilt game. Not the same as previous fallout games. D&D and fallout have only one similarity, they're RPG's everything else about them is different.
It doesn't show any of that necessarily. As the narrator explains, he _modded the game before starting._
I guess this is what bethseda did for 76
You clearly don't realize that you can play through the whole story with only the minutemen.
It's a good sign that the testers and programmers realized that possibility though!
if only there was a solo option where you could not join any factions at all, or you ended up being the head of your own faction.
sound familiar?
FALLOUT NEW VEGAS! BY THE ALMIGHTY LORD!
ALL HAIL THE MAILMAN!
Even in New Vegas Independent option required Yes Man, who was unkillable until you find the securitron army. And even then, he'd just switch bodies. So, the game *required* an essential character to leave you a way to finish the game.
The fact that you have to sensor kill and guns in a video game that Involves KILLING WITH GUNS

Essential tags are just about the worst thing in Bethesda games. One of the many queues they should take from obsidian, is the complete removal of them in new vegas.
They added them for a reason. It's not like Bethesda doesn't know about them (Morrowind didn't have any that I'm aware of)
It's because if you accidentally kill the wrong person 100 hours into the game and make it unbeatable you're going to be an unhappy customer.
@@Fearia6 i wouldnt call it lazy writing. It's industry convention.
Mitchell Horton Call it what you want, but I find it obnoxiously unimmersive especially coming from some of the best, most immersive games on the market.

@@jacobfreeman5444 No he doesn't. He stays in the museum forever if you ignore him.

RoboSheepz is right, if the autocaptions get it, it will still be flagged.
allie boy if auto captions pick up bad words the video still gets flagged.
RoboSheepz he has to censor them, he doesn’t want to. TH-cam will demonetize him if he doesnt

You can kill the railroad and still decode the chip. Just use tinker Tom's terminal
There's a mod that tags the Minutemen NPC's as non-essential. Just sayin'.
You can also change people's "essential" status in console command
Tomi Not a pc player don’t got the Luxury of console commands
Draconic_Sprinkles What is it called?
Preston garvys invincible but I so much as smell explosives and my health go by by. which is more essential to the story? me? or the guy that forces me to play Minecraft in fallout
you can usually shoot the power core for the power armor and it should blow up the core and the npc will exit the suit there for making the suit take able
Danse power armor is actually special in the fact that his core is untargetavle and seemingly never runs out
What happens if you join the nuka world raiders making you enemies with preston. Then kill the raiders and all the other factions then try to do the main questline.
Even if you become the overboss Preston will still send you to settlements and all that, you only lose him as a companion
How satisfying to shoot Preston, but even more so MARCY! The worst thing tho, is that the first Minutemen quest is VERY glitch-prone.
Encounters plot relevant NPC: "so anyways, I started blasting"
You need to do Garvey's quest at the start until you become General of the Minutemen and he becomes available as your companion, then I believe it's possible to kill him. The Brotherhood you can kill at any time, but you will have to side with the Railroad and follow their questline all the way to the end to destroy the Institute, and then only after the Institute is destroyed is it safe to betray the Railroad and get your "No Gods, No Masters" ending.
You actually can get into the Institute after killing the Railroad early. You take the courser chip to Tinker Tom's terminal and decode it yourself.
Even if Preston hates you, he'll still give you random settlement quests.
Pretty soon we are going to have come up with code words or something. For starters, kill can be... *hug.*
My "Limitless" senses are tingling. *Peers around*
Finally an interesting video, keep it up!
Oktodenn hey....that my line.
Juicehead you do know you can get through the main storyline with the Minutemen. Sturgis will build the teleporter.
@juicehead
You can still access the institute after killing the railroad members.
Theres a terminal to the left of the corser chip scanner
simply access it and read the entries
after doing so you'll be able to decode the corser chip yourself
which is all the railroad is primarily needed for.
I find it weird when people like the Brotherhood Of Steel, and when they dislike the Minutemen.
It's strange.
People just prefer an already strong faction with power armour rather than building a formidable army from a rag tag group of settler militias. I prefer the Minutemen.
Every word is bad for youtube
You can teleport in the institute using the minute men btw
You can decode it yourself using Tinker Tom’s terminal
I mean, you can get into the institute from the minute men.
You can't kill the minutemen, but you can actually decypher the courser chip without the railroad. Just head to their base once you have retrieved it and have talked to the supermutant scientist.
Suspicious Duck virgil?
Phone yes
The censuring of language is obnoxious. Gun... it’s easy, nobody is going to die by saying the word.
Nicholas Eickman he censored them to not get demonitized
Tyler Rebholz I know. I was mostly referring to the baby-proofed monetization system TH-cam has.
The geniusness of dodging demonitization in this vid
Graphic depictions of brutal murder: 👍
Saying the word “kill”: 🤬🤬🤬
This dude obviously didn't take any time to research alternative ways to ends quests, because the ending and institute is still possible from his point. He just didn't do the right quests and wasted his time killing people. There are the quests with Nick which get you closer to the institute, and you can either use the Minutemen or Tinker Tom's terminal to make the teleporter.
Literally cant watch this cause of the censorship. its so annoying to listen too and ruins the flow.
SuicidalBanana blame TH-cam
yeah and there are plenty of other gaming videos and content creators that use kill, gun, shoot etc and still have their videos monetized.
yeah but the automated caption system still knows what he says so its just obnoxious and uneffective
@@ilhandaanish2381 its not even youtube you can say kill and dead and other words like that its just him being greedy and wanting too much money.
The Minutemen are essential employees, so ‘Rona doesn’t deal any damage to them.
