I have been gas huffing and living in low sec backwaters and WH for a long time. I have a porpoise as well and compress and then use a crane to move it back to Jita when a convenient HS wormhole opens up.

Just know the gas is only so valuable because of the quality. Sabers and legions will attempt to land on you frequently. If you find any vast, instrumental, and bountiful sites you can warp to 100 and burn to 270 from the warp in. The rats will spawn and you won't get aggro. So anyone who uses probe scanner will warp to zero and be run off by the rats. If you see combats you need to run. Obviously.

If there is danger (and it is, its WH), rarity factor and limited hold volume available, then super mega clouds are just as good as the smaller ones.

Honestly, i was the exact same, had all this anxiety about it. But once you get in there, do your research, know how to get out of situations, you should be mostly fine. It becomes more fun when you know how.
