getting the confidence in a chipping technique is what i struggle most with, more the confidence to fly the ball a little further knowing it grab up with the right technique. great video mate, superb tips!
Thanks mate, that confidence is only gathered by repetition and understanding the release factors of your particular shot patterns due to your delivery. Always look for small changes to avoid that confusion and they will be more manageable on course. 👍👍🙏

Got to admit i love dropping the ball in horrific lies round the green and seeing how I fair out of them. Play different shots, experiment, it all helps out when we're on the course

Stu great tips! At our course we have bare hard pan or long grass around the greens depends on wether you're short or long.. I still have little over 2 months before our course opens. We may get to practice a few weeks before.

Learning to use the wedges properly is one of the keys to improving my game. When I look to where all my extra strokes are coming from, it's mostly in the short game. Learning to get the weight right is key. I give away at least 8 shots a round by under or over shooting my wedges. I'm going to take these tips out to my garden and practice until I can place the ball within 1 metre (3 feet) of my target. I'll have a progress report on your desk by next week!
Yes, that sounds a great plan. I promise you it’s the difference in so many shots to all levels. It’s so much more difficult to pick up shots than it is to save them in the first place. Look forward to hearing your scores drop. Happy to take a look at your action. 👍👍

Coincidentally, Stu, I recently spent a day setting up my new chipping studio in the bedroom. I say 'studio', it's a duvet hanging between the hoover and the golf bag. It's definitely paying off, from ten foot away I can hit 18 square foot of duvet at least 3 out of ten times. I can't wait to take it out on the course. If ever I find myself in a situation where I'm short-sided and having to chip over a pile of discarded laundry it'll be a breeze.
