While finishing up, I looked down on the bottom and there was this tiny perfect egg, that I swear was not there moments before. I put it in a drink cup to get it home, and put it in my incubator when I got to the house. Just about two months later, out popped the cutest Spotted Turtle Baby you ever saw. Good luck with that egg!

I follow & complete your instructions(make an hole in plastic box, wet sand etc) but i use sand:-) so is it any problem occur?
V v I realize this is too late, but if you got the soft shell 3 months prior to her laying the eggs, assuming you don't have a male, the eggs wouldn't be fertilized so there just like when chickens lay eggs and we sell them in stores, they are baby chickens you're eating they are simply eggs.
We tried to incubate snapping turtle eggs and failed. That was around seven years ago, we have been letting them stay in the nest and having good results since then . I know lots of people have great luck with incubation, we just did something wrong. Of course letting them hatch next to cannibals has it's own risks as well. Thanks for the video.

Good point. Odds are it's not. But I'm not familiar with musk turtles so I'm not sure... But! In about a month he can put a flash light against the egg to see sort of what's going on in there. If it's extremely clear it's just a yoke egg. If not... There might be a baby in there. 2 months in and you should REALLY be able to tell. That's how it is with marginated tortoises though. Maybe musk turtles hatch faster. The marginated tortoises hatch in about 60-70 days.
For some species of reptiles I know the first egg a female lays isn't always good but thats nothing to get worried about because she will come into her own and lay good eggs the next time!

My bro says that they are smart turtles and very kool pets but sadly it's hard to raise them in the south with all of our heat and humidity.
